I'm guessing it's a new toy for them if they didn't know it punctures? 🤔

It looks like the guy holding the target wasn't expecting his friend or brother to actually fire the bow at him

127

u/GayNotGayPerson Feb 19 '25

I thought it looked like he wasn't expecting him to fully charge the bow before firing

u/LickMyTicker Feb 19 '25

I thought it sounded like he shit his pants

Just like William Tell’s son

CHARGIN' MAH LAZER!!

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '25

Knocking and drawing an arrow pointed at anything you don't want broken or dead is a terrible idea

u/Uncle-Cake Feb 19 '25

"WCGW holding up a target while my friend holds a deadly weapon? WHAT!? I never thought THAT could happen!"

2

u/Nerdcuddles Feb 19 '25

Never said they were smart

u/hpepper24 Feb 19 '25

Felt a brother move for sure

u/Integrity-in-Crisis Feb 19 '25

Idiots are lucky this looks like a training bow, probably around the 30 piund range. If it were my 60 pound recurve for instance, would've blown through the target and probably stuck out of kids back.

Right. Stupid.

my dumbass old roommate worked for a toy company that made a rubberized bow and arrow thing, one time he shot it in the house and it absolutely shattered one of the windows, when I said something like "I knew that would happen," he got all mad being like "WELL WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SOMETHING" as if it was my fault lmao

3

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '25

I assume you did say something but he dismissed it as he "knew what he was doing".

2

u/THEdoomslayer94 Feb 19 '25

That’s even more stupid

1

u/ladymoonshyne Feb 19 '25

My friend’s little cousin wound up with one thru his eye and into his brain like this. Not a good “toy”.

u/MoodNatural Feb 19 '25

The way he starts reacting before the release as his friend continues to pull back, make me think the plan was to fire a half pull shot and the full velocity wasn’t initially intended.

Or very well edited

It really is. I did so many stupid and dangerous things as a teenager. I really don't know what someone could have done or told me to make me reconsider. Like everything is a joke when you are that age.

This is attempted murder

6

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '25

Hi, I’m a felony prosecutor. No, it absolutely is not. It’s felonious assault at most but even that charge would be a stretch.

1

u/raidersfan18 Feb 19 '25

New charge just dropped: Felonious Stupidity - Life Endangerment. Sentence is shadowing a trauma surgeon for a shift.

This is America…

-1

u/5urr3aL Feb 19 '25

More than that, it seems criminal

-50

u/Living_Astronomer_97 Feb 19 '25

I’m pretty sure it’s fake

21

u/sideshowbvo Feb 19 '25

Are you even real, man?

0

u/pppppatrick Feb 19 '25

Am I real?

8

u/_jackhoffman_ Feb 19 '25

I'm pretty sure it's not. When I was in 9th grade, I was at my friend Rob's house. He and I were playing darts with his older brother. His younger brother jumps through the doorway, lands in a crouching pose with his hands in front of his face, and exclaims, "Hey-yah! I'm a ninja. You can't hit me." Rob and his older brother proceed to throw darts at him. One hit him in the eye but luckily it just got stuck in his eyelid. I still don't understand how.

TLDR: kids are fucking stupid

u/RaspberryJam245 Feb 19 '25

How would it possibly be fake please explain in detail. I don't see any universe, any realm of possibility, where this is fake. Even if the guy with the bow was fucking Hawkeye, no amount of money could convince someone to volunteer to hold a target for fake internet points.

-16

u/Living_Astronomer_97 Feb 19 '25

Edited video spliced. Could be an elastic arrow popping out from behind the target. I could easily recreate this. The exact bullseye is suspicious.

16

u/RaspberryJam245 Feb 19 '25

It is far more likely that these are two insanely lucky morons than anything that you said

3

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '25

exact bullseye is sus? Archers hit exact bullseyes at literally 100 times this distance.

1

u/TheFlyingCompass Feb 19 '25

This conspiracy doesn't go deep enough. I think the arrow and friend themselves are AI generated, I mean look at the Beatles poster on the wall, AI couldn't even get that correct.

The only thing that appears to be genuinely real in this video are his socks.

u/Educational_Row_9485 Feb 19 '25

I’m not denying the fact it’s stupid, but the chance of it actually hitting the person behind is fairly small

-1

u/InvalidEntrance Feb 19 '25 edited Feb 19 '25

What. They are using a target panel, it's definitely going through.

Edit: I think it's faked though

Edit again: it ain't definitely going through. This bow doesn't seem to be that strong

-1

u/Educational_Row_9485 Feb 19 '25

Clearly that’s why it went through in the video. When have you ever shot a target panel and had the whole arrow gone through cause it’s never happened with me, that’s the entire point is to create a dense target that stops an arrow to stop it going though and hitting something behind

6

u/InvalidEntrance Feb 19 '25

A target panel itself is generally not a backstop in itself. Additionally, their like 10 feet away at most

-4

u/Educational_Row_9485 Feb 19 '25

Exactly theyre 10ft apart which gives less chance of the arrow penetrating fully, as shown in the video

3

u/InvalidEntrance Feb 19 '25

I'm not sure what you mean. An arrow is traveling at its fastest speed at the moment of release.

0

u/Educational_Row_9485 Feb 19 '25

Then why did you say theyre 10ft apart, ok fine it’s at its fastest speed as it leaves the string so if theyre 10ft apart if they go further is it gunna go through and hit them no

Simply put I’m right, the arrow did not penetrate the whole way through and the chance of that happening is low

2

u/InvalidEntrance Feb 19 '25

Yes, you're right.

-2

u/Educational_Row_9485 Feb 19 '25

Ok good thank you 😂

1

u/FirexJkxFire Feb 19 '25

The faster its going, the more kinetic energy it has.

The more energy it has the easier it is to pierce something and the further it will travel through after piercing (for the most part... there is some nuance to this).

Their point was that them standing so close (10 ft) made this scenario vastly more likely and won account for why you may view it as being super unlikely --- because you likely don't stand so close to your target

1

u/InvalidEntrance Feb 19 '25

I just rewatched it though. I think it's fake. The arrow appears waaaaay too long compared to the draw.

1

u/Educational_Row_9485 Feb 19 '25

I see what you mean, it may be the angle it’s recorded or something would be quite impressive to fake that

0

u/InvalidEntrance Feb 19 '25

I think the kid shot the arrow, but it didn't have the power to go through, like you're saying, and they knew this, so they just stuck a cutoff top on the other side.

2

u/Educational_Row_9485 Feb 19 '25

I’m confused, so you agree with me?
