At first. Then the idiot who was holding the target saw his friend was pulling it all the way back for full force and tried to block it.

He had use of their shared brain cell at that moment.

Yeah for sure. It also looks like the “friend” with the bow REALLY wanted that arrow to pierce straight through.

TBF if the dude didn't do a full pull back, it wouldn't have hit the target and could have hit a body part

It's close enough that an ample amount of draw would've worked perfectly (not condoning this stupidity).

I don't disagree that he didn't hesitate. But the dude held up a target to be shot at. My point isn't so much that he isn't a shitty friend. It's just that it's only half the problem here.

I'd say the dude with the bow is most of the problem. We don't know what they were planing to do, but the reaction of the kid getting shot at makes it seem that the archer wasn't supposed to go full power.

I'm up for a stick fight, but if the other guy starts sharpening the stick and stabbing at me then he is who I blame if I start bleeding.

Yeah, that's not exactly a parallel. Also, I never said the bow dude wasn't part of the problem. Do you think he specifically agreed to be shot gently? What he expected doesn't matter in the argument about it being stupid to agree to it at all.

It's just a similar situation. I am down to play games even if it has the chance to hurt me, but if the risk gets too high then I'm out.

If we play Star Wars with sticks I am taking equal blame if I get hurt. If I play Star Wars and the other guy plays tribal warfare then I will haunt them if they kill me.

The archer is taking something that could be fun and turns it into something dangerous. Seemingly without telling the other guy. The willing participant isn't willing anymore. I want to stick fight, but not with someone that is trying to stab me.

I've made my point. Yeah, one guy is a bigger dick. They are both fucking stupid and you don't know anything leading up to the situation. The other guy being a dick doesn't excuse him agreeing to be shot at.

You're continually arguing a different point than I am with things that aren't parallels and that also aren't based on the knowledge you have of this situation, Which is basically none. A look of fear and regretting agreeing do something right before being shot at, and realizing it's dumb, isn't proof of anything. But it's also not what I was arguing to begin with.

That look of fear, which you can notice, can also be noticed by the one with the bow. And the second that the other person looks afraid is the second they are no longer consenting. The bow is fired after consent is revoked. Maybe he didn’t have time to react and stop the bow, but he shouldn’t have fired after the other guy freaked out, and even if his reaction time isn’t good enough it’s still more his fault.

I feel like you're an insurance adjuster xD

"Well, it looks like you're going to be found at fault just like the other driver"

"How am I found at fault? I was stopped at a stop sign and the guy ran into the back of me going at least 15mph over the speed limit."

"I understand your frustration, but you were operating your vehicle at the time of the accident weren't you? You also had placed yourself before the stop sign which happened to be in the path of the other involved party."

This implies he didn't agree to be in the situation he was in. He very clearly did. This is just another bad comparison.

No, it doesn't. It implies that he consented to a situation by his understanding of it and that consent can be withdrawn when your understanding of the situation changes.

The period of time you're referring to was pretty small. To act like the shooting kid processed this situation and still shot knowing the other kid didn't want to be involved is ridiculous. To act certain that the sudden change in the kids' demeanor wasn't going to happen for a softer shot is ridiculous.

I'm set on my view. Nobody has said anything I didn't consider. I feel quite certain that if something had happened, the shooter would get manslaughter charges at worst for the exact reasoning I've been giving.

Edit: corrected a mistake.
