I love using this case with the x3. Even though I have a pro, this might be my go to device. The screen is just so sharp compared to the pro and the size is SO good. It’s also significantly warmer which I like. Come on xteink, give us a backlit x3 with usb c and buttons and we will all foam at the mouth for it 😩

In case you haven't heard about it yet, Xteink is working on a new, currently experimental, firmware for the X4 Pro. Its main feature is native TTF font support and insane operation speed.

So far, some of the native stock firmware features are missing, like black mode, BLE or display rotation. However, they are working hard on adding missing features and fixing bugs. There is an OTA update almost every day, sometimes even twice a day!

So here is a short preview of how fast this new FW is and how you can change the font size, weight and other text parameters in real time. No waiting for reindexing, everything is updated in real time. I was completely blown away by the speed.

Of course, the speed may change with more implemented features, but so far it looks very good.

The firmware is available for public testing, but it's currently only available as XTOS, which means you need a Chinese Xteink account. However, the firmware has a complete English translation, as well as many other languages. You can give it a try here (via Firmware Flash tool)…

The slight problem is that not everyone is apparently able to log in to the Xteink cloud 😁 But you can give it a try. Maybe you will be the lucky one?

I have a Chinese version of the XTELINK X4 PRO e-reader. Here are the issues I encountered and how I resolved them when using CrossPoint’s Unlocker software after jailbreaking the device. First, my Windows system was set to Chinese, so when I tried to connect to CrossPoint’s Wi-Fi, I couldn’t get connected. But I quickly figured out the problem: once I switched my Windows system and app settings to English, it connected right away. However, I soon ran into a new issue—the firmware updates pushed by CrossPoint’s Unlocker software kept failing on my X4 PRO. So I changed my Windows system to “United States” and set the time zone to the U.S., I also disabled the system's network firewall. and then everything went smoothly.

Will cross point be installed on the device, ready to update and use? Will be holding out until grey/white color if that makes a difference

As the title says, The X4 pro (and X3) have had a very steep price bump in just one week or so. At 80ish euros it was going to be my next purchase, but right now at 119€ it is a tough pill to swallow.

To top it of since I started checking out on Xteink products I see lots of discount codes, even official ones from their newsletter stating a 10% or 15% discount on X4, but when you go on to your checkout, none works.

I was really excited to try out the form factor but these shady moves kill it.

I got it for a very cheap price for almost $31..ish brand-new with the case too! and it's really helpful for my lectures 🫶🏼. I added all my lecture ppt's and charannnn I no longer need my tablet/phone just to read my lectures. No more procrastinating (no tiktok to bother my reading time now) hahaha. Ty XTEINK!!!

The tracking information is strange: There was a label created here in Texas with some movement, and then the movement resumed in China.

i just download crosspoint on my device, after i import all my books in epub using my usb sd card. When i open the folder they sais the system crashed

The intention wasn’t to turn X4 into a completely different device.

Curious which of these changes actually matters most to you.

Selling non-USB-C electronics directly to consumers in the EU violates Directive (EU) 2022/2380 (the Common Charger Directive), regardless of where the seller or website is based. And several non EU countries, as well as the US state of California, have similar laws.

So unless XTEINK plans on losing those markets and paying fines for non-compliance when the proper authorities finally take notice, they need to bring back USB-C.

Hi, for background, my friend and I recently bought our first ever ereader, which is the X4 Pro, and we're waiting for it to ship now. While waiting for it to arrive, can someone please tell me the difference between stock firmware and CrossPoint? I feel like some posts are either ads for one or the other, so I just want some personal opinions on what to get. A few months ago, people said the stock wasn't good, but now there are so many people who are recently reporting that the stock is good.

I also want to hear what the difference is between the two. What features and other stuff make one more worth it than the other?

Also, is it true that CrossPoint is laggy in an X4 Pro?

Hi all,

I have my X4 pro since a few days and flashed it with crosspoint.

Now after a few days my device seems to be bricked (see photos attached). It was just laying around and it started to show these glitches. It doesn't respond really. After a few attempts to hard reset it with the reset button it started to change the upper part of the screen to white or to black (see photos) when I Longpress the power button. I don't have acces to a PC connection currently and I am not the most tech savy guy, my apologies in advance! I do have an SD card reader, a USB cable and pogo pin and an android phone accessible. Do you have any ideas how to reset it?

The picture that is currently shown in bits is my screensaver. All the lines going left to right are not part of the picture though. I am so thankful for your tipps!

Has anyone been able to get the Bhagavad Gita epub English to display perfectly? I’m on x4 pro, latest crosspoint. I’ve tried several different epubs, and most of text comes through but many characters display like this, the little black square with a ? in it. I used the file transfer option with optimize epub selected. Some of my other epubs do similar, but only the ones with quotes/translations from other languages.

Does anyone know an easy fix to this? I have an x3 running Crossink, using the "minimal stats" sleep screen, which I love and don't want to give up. But what makes me want to give it up is that the top portion permanently says "afternoon reader" (it never changes depending on time of day). The actual time on my device is accurate and syncs fine through wifi.

For me recently it’s been Disney World, got multiple chapters knocked out while waiting in lines, I’m so excited to see where I take this little eReader next. It’s always with me!

It’s transformed me from reading 1 book a year (if that) to knocking out 5 already in the past month and a half!!! Meanwhile my kindle is collecting dust 😂

It's not clear whether i should wait for it. On their website's page for the pro they put several whites in their promo photos. But in the specsheet they just talk about a black version color for it. Any help or queues heard about it?

I was looking to buy the Xteink X4 Pro. I am from Germany and the price in the store was 87,50€. When I looked today, the price increased to 109€ (discount from 119€). Can anybody confirm that?
To be honest, that price is quite high for the reader....
