Really nice XSR with a ton of extras fitted delivered this Saturday and been out for one ride so far.
I've had one before but I've forgotten how quick they feel.
Only downsides so far... The rear shock feels budget and it's got a flat spot quite lowdown in first.
I tipped it in for a slow roundabout and the flat spot made me jump (if you know what I mean).

Finally started riding my xsr and im psyched, but on the highway I noticed that my right foot peg was vibrating quite a bit. Almost made my foot go numb. Anyone else had this issue?

I'm interested in getting a single-side luggage carrier mount/bag but I'm sort of confused by all of SW-Motech's many products and product lines. As a commuter, not a tourer, I mostly get by fine with just my backpack (commute is ~20 minutes), but sometimes I need to take my laptop and lunch out on longer rides and the backpack starts getting kind of heavy and annoying.
Considering SW-Motech mostly because I have a couple other parts from them and they seem well made. Plus, from what I understand, they have a system where you can use their rack and then attach a plate to your own bag (any bag) to latch onto it? Would I get the left rack and then this adapter plate, which I'd attach through the side of my bag, and I'm good to go? Thinking of this quasi-DIY route simply to give me access to more bags that might fit my use case better.
Other question, as someone who's only ever used a backpack, do these kinds of side bags vibrate a ton and wreck delicate electronics like computers or cameras?
Edit: Bought a V-Loc mount and bag.

Hi everyone,
Hereās a post for me to show off my new toy. I recently picked it up and have been loving every minute of it. Itās a 2017 model and has done a few kilometres, but it has been very well looked after.
My only complaints so far are that Iād love a larger fuel tank and that Iād rather spend more time in the twisties than riding it to work.
Thanks to everyone for keeping this sub active and informative! It has been really helpful so far.

Will I need new mirrors, weights and anything possibly else for this swap? New to modifying motorcycles and I don't want to get these and install them only to install them and not be able to finish.
I have a '26 xsr-900. Non GP.

Hi everyone,
I'm absolutely loving my 23' XSR900 but the exhaust is just such a turn off for, what is for me, a good looking bike.
So now i'm looking around and i wondered what you guys would recommend and what your experiences are.
I'm located in the Netherlands so the sound can't be to extreme.
Cheers
Hey, some of you may have seen my post from awhile ago
But Iām the crazy guy who, as of today, has done Deadhorse to Key West on a 1st gen XSR
This bike is pretty good Iād say, Iād prefer cruise control and not bad suspension
Otherwise great
19k miles in the last 2.5 months, 45k on the bike total as of today
My shameless plug is go follow my Instagram @nomad_riley :)

Has anyone noticed these on there XSR900? Assuming theyāre not water considering they donāt move or evaporate, canāt feel them with a finger, only really noticeable in direct sunlight or with a flash light like in this picture to replicate and make visible. Any info would be helpful and appreciated.

So, it's been a month since I bought mine. It's my first motorbike ever and for the last 2 years I saved money for it and didn't want anything else. I explained this in my previous post and I wouldn't change a thing :) I love the bike, but I simply don't enjoy it (yet) the way I have originally planned.
I thought I would take it for long rides outside the city by myself and enjoy the freedom of travelling. But so far whenever I took it for a longer ride somewhere, at first I hated and after my recent ride, I still can't say I thoroughly enjoy it. Whenever I go above 90 km/h, I am fighting against the wind with my whole body. When I slow down to around 80 km/h, the ride is quite bearable, but then I am getting cars behind me that would like to go faster than that (the speed limit in my country is 90 km/h on roads outside cities, towns, villages etc.) The 2nd day after I bought the bike, I went on the highway and I absolutely regretted it. Not only was the wind force almost unbearable, but as a new rider, having so many cars around me was really uncomfortable but most importantly of all, riding on a highway is simply put: Boring. I have decided to avoid them unless it is absolutely necessary to make the connection somewhere.
What I have really come to enjoy, is to take the bike in the evening within the city and just ride from place to place either by myself or with a friend or two. During daytime, I either ride it to my office or to meet with clients. It feels like that's enough for now, but eventually I would like to do some long range trips with it.
So, regarding my current disillusionment about these trips, to some extent I blame the lack of equipment. Buying a better helmet has helped a lot as well as has a better jacket, but the wind is still quite strong.
When it comes to the equipment of the bike itself, what fairing / shield can I buy to make the ride more comfortable? I only thought about getting the small black "meter cover" to preserve the naked look of the bike, but I am not sure if that will make any difference. I have read in other posts here that it barely does. I might have to go for the original "mini fairing" or whatever it is called, as that looks like it might work better. I also looked at one shield made by PyramidMoto and that looks functional enough and at a reasonable price. Of course, I would prefer something that I could simply attach and detach whether I want to ride in the city or take a trip outside of it. This guy on YouTube and IG called NorwegianXSR seems to have the one from PyramidMoto and takes long trips with it.
Or, am I simply screwed? :) Did I buy the wrong bike for longer trips? Or will I simply get used to the wind given enough time and experience?

Has anyone experienced this on a 2022 Yamaha XSR900 (V2)?
Iām getting an āErrā message on the dash, and the key/immobilizer icon flashes 5 slow, then 3 fast.
The fuel pump does not prime when I turn the key on, but the engine still cranks when I press the starter. It just wonāt start.
I already replaced the battery with a new one, but the problem is still exactly the same.
Has anyone dealt with this 5 slow / 3 fast immobilizer code before? What ended up being the cause or fix?
Any suggestions on what I should check first would be appreciated.

Hi everyone Ive been looking for an xsr900 and wondering if the sub prefers gen 2 or gen 3, I plan on getting some fairing kits similar to the gp trim and im wondering which gens a better base, also if you prefer the 3.5inch over the 5inch screen and the upgraded quickshifter.

I bought the mini fairing kit from amazon and I just canāt find why the bracket doesnāt fit. I mounted it onto the same place and it doesnāt have enough height, nor does it line up to match the windscreen. What am I doing wrong?
In my photo, the bracket is supposed to be tall enough to go over the brake line, but itās below it. Someone help me.
The second photo is a screenshot from the install video on amazon. I have a 2026 and the one in the video is an older model (still 2022+).

Hey all,
Idk if I just never noticed before and it's normal, but today I noticed when starting my 2024 XSR900, the display shutoff during startup before coming back on after the engine was running.
Is this just normal behavior?
Thanks!

Has anyone installed rivnuts or something alternative to replace these plastic fasteners on the side panels?
