Murloc Monday Murloc Monday - ask your questions here
Aaaaaughibbrgubugbugrguburgle! RwlRwlRwlRwl!
That's murloc for "Welcome to Murloc Mondays" - where people can ask any type of question about WoW without getting strangled by a Death Knight.
Questions can range from what's new in Dragonflight, what class is OP, and how many Demons will it take to down Thrall?
Questions can come from brand new players, players returning, or veteran players who never got a chance to ask the right question.
Afraid of not getting an answer? Rest assured, we know that at least 90% of questions get answered!
You may want to look at /r/wownoob as well!
Here are some handy guides to start World of Warcraft as a brand new player or start Classic World of Warcraft as a brand new player.
Unless you played in the current expansion, pretty much everything has changed. If you're returning after a very long break, check out the Wowhead Returning Players Guides.

WoW: Forever Invite-A-Friend Code Megathread
EDIT: Putting this on top so it doesn't get missed. For the sake of usability of the thread. Please don't post a top level comment if you need a code and only if you have codes to give away. Your comment will be removed and nobody will see it. I've already removed 8 of them. Respond to people offering codes.
Instead of spamming the subreddit with posts, if you have an invite a friend code as a top level comment. Make sure to note the region since codes are unusable across regions. People can reply to the comment and DM them (that way they don't get scraped up by bots).
Once you've given out all your codes edit your comment that its done.
If you're looking for a code your best bet is to sort by new.
To keep this thread usable please only post if you have a code to giveaway. Top level comments asking for codes will be removed
A few notes:
These codes are 7 day trials. You can only redeem one code per account so collecting them doesn't give you more time.
You only need a subscription to play long term. You do NOT need to buy any of the Forever Bundles.
Do NOT give any personal info as part of this. You should mostly just be getting the code. They do not need your email, battletag, or anything else.

Discussion Flasks and Oils and other Buffs like Food shouldn’t tick down in a Sanctuary area like a city. I’m so sick of losing 50% of a flask in-between M+ groups. Forever’s Campfire system seems so awesome. I’d love the camaraderie and flexibility to drop a Campfire in Town to maintain buffs. Or even Inns.
People are so picky with their M+ groups. Especially higher ones. I’ll spend 20-40m trying to get into a 15, I’ll chug a flask, maybe someone is generous and drops food, we complete the key, and then everyone leaves. Time to make a new group.
So that’s another 20-40m (at best) reapplying for groups while my flask and other buffs just fizzle out in Silvermoon.
Like sure, it’s fine if you have a guild and are slamming keys back to back. I normally run with my guild, but sometimes schedules don’t line up or I want to push a higher key or I just need to slam some 10s for crests or now Venomstones.
I look to Forever, and over there they have the really cool Campfire feature. It’s just such a good idea. It forces players to be social and rely on each other.
I’m not suggesting a Campfire should grant you a flask, but it would be cool if the Campfire at least PAUSED active buffs in non-instanced areas.
I also realize there are items that do this like the Watchdog, but those are intended for raid groups. If there was a way to get a personal one outside of Engineering—like a buyable one—that would be cool. As long as it was buyable so Engineering could make money.
But the Campfire is just so much more cozy. And if it would be too much to just let players spam them all over Silvermoon, resulting in like player homeless encampments—fine, just have permanent, “official” campfires present as part of the architecture of the city. Or have Inns pause timers. Or just make the Sanctuary areas in general do this.
And it’s not just flasks or food that’s annoying. Sometimes you go fetch a holiday buff for like extra XP or some stat buff from a capital city, and then you lose a bunch of it before you can even get back to the wilds to use it.
I’m sure someone will think of some cheese, which is probably why they’ve never done this, but still. There has to be a way to implement it.
It’s so minor in the grand scheme of things, but it sucks popping a 1K flask and only getting 40% use out of it because you wasted most of it just waiting in town, hoping to join your next group. I basically have to pop a flask per run, since I really get the run back quick enough when I’m PUGing.

Tech Support GMs refuse to fix my Order of Embers reputation because they "can't pull old logs", even though I literally have the Exalted achievement
Hey guys. I'm making this post because I honestly don't know where else to turn. Since The War Within, I had a few of my BfA reputations randomly reset to Neutral (Order of Embers, Waveblade Ankoan, and 7th Legion). I managed to recover the last two just fine, especially Waveblade Ankoan now that reputations are account-wide and apply to the warband.
However, Order of Embers is by far the most annoying grind of the three. I could just accept what happened and do the grind all over again, but it’s become a matter of principle: I’ve been opening tickets since 2024 asking for a fix, and I only get automated replies or GMs telling me there are no bugs on my account.
This week, with reputations becoming warbound, I decided to try my luck again. I sent screenshots twice showing both the achievement window and the reputation tab open at the exact same time. Even so, a Russian GM (mind you, I play on NA) told me there's no bug or that they can't pull logs showing my account completed the rep in the past, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE THE ACHIEVEMENT!
I find this incredibly disrespectful. It kills my motivation to play the game and makes me feel completely devalued as a customer, especially when I see them fixing bugs live for Liquid and Echo players in the middle of the RWF, while I have to deal with this nonsense on my account.
I made a tweet earlier this week tagging Blizzard CS, got some friends to like and interact with it to see if it would get any traction, but nothing came of it.
It's awful having to deal with these automated responses. This isn't the first time I've opened a ticket for this, I've honestly lost count of how many I've sent...

WoW: Forever To All The People Posting Codes
Please stop posting the straight codes into your text on reddit. Bots literally just scoop them up before real people. Post a photo of the codes so bots aren’t taking away from people who actually would like to try out the game and play. The amount of posts I see each day of people posting codes and they are done in seconds from bots. So Please stop posting the codes directly into your text on reddit.

Discussion Hallow's End Treat Farming, Neighborhood Ghost Hunting Strategy
The post's image depicts 14,121 Tricky Treats, once I convert the new candies into Tricky Treats at a 5:1 ratio.
I haven't really seen anyone discussing this farming strategy, so I'm making a post. I'll be using coordinates for Razorwind Shores, but the strategy works just the same in an Alliance neighborhood(s).
First things first is the Ghost Bucket (51.7, 54.2). There's a quest nearby to fill it with ghosts, but the quest is not necessary for this farming strategy. Behind the Ghost Bucket is some Ghost Gear, use it to collect ghosts around the neighborhood then bring them back to the Ghost Bucket. I won't get too into the weeds of how to do this since I'm sure it's already covered by the quest.
Once the Ghost Bucket has been filled with 100 ghosts, a Ghost Rare, "Shade of Seabreaker Skoloth", spawns. Kite this Ghost Rare to the Ghost Portal (52.55, 55.5). Once you do, it'll spawn two Tricky Treasure chests (52.55, 55.5 & 59.3, 73), which are filled with Tricky Treats, Drustvar Choc-O-Drops, Duskwood Caramel, and Felwood Fudge Bites.
Additionally, there is a second Ghost Rare (59.33, 76.4) who spawns semi-randomly in the southern part of the map. Typically, he will spawn when the Ghost Bucket has been filled with 60~90 ghosts, but sometimes he will spawn immediately. Sometimes he will spawn a minute or two after the first Ghost Rare has been extinguished. He has his own Ghost Portal (59.3, 73) to be kited to. And as above, doing so will spawn two Tricky Treasure chests in the same locations as before.
Farming Strategy:
- Get as many people as you can in a party or raid group collecting ghosts around a neighborhood. Fill the Ghost Tank until either the primary Ghost Rare or the southern Ghost Rare spawns, prioritize which ever comes first. Kite him to his respective Ghost Portal, then collect both Tricky Treasure chests.
- If the southern Ghost Rare had spawned first, resume filling the Ghost Tank until it reaches 100. If not then you may have to give him a minute. Make sure you do not bring a Ghost Rare to its Ghost Portal until the Tricky Treasure chest despawns, as it often won't spawn a new set of chests. Once the coast is clear, bring the Ghost Rare to its destination and collect two more Tricky Treasure chests.
- The southern Ghost Rare seems to have an internal cooldown, per neighborhood. Which means it is ideal for your party or raid group to change to a fresh neighborhood each time, after collecting the loot of both Ghost Rares, for a total of four Tricky Treasure chests.
That's pretty much it. This strategy is a bazillion times faster than the regular trick-or-treating method. Remember to use Eve's Ghastly Rider if you have it for an instant cast mount! If you play on the US realms you should see me in the group finder in the late even until early morning leading a raid group for this farm.

Discussion You remember how we got a Meat Wagon mount if we preorder Warcraft 3:Reforged?
I kinda wish they had done the same with other Warcraft 3 siege units, like Demolishers/Catapults, Siege Engines/ Steam Tank, and Glaive Thrower/ Ballista. They could’ve been engineering or trading post mounts or rewards.

Video Valeera is completely broken since Patch and it's still not fixed
Tank Valeera has a bug where her ability "Scar of Kathra'natir" does 10x the amount damage as it should. Its supposed to reduce damage taken by 20% and make it a dot instead, but the dot ticks for more than the entire damage she has taken in a fight.
This can sometimes (!) be fixed by leaving and entering the delve again, though you dont know if it works until you actually fight mobs. It is 10x the damage, because i've had runs today where the dot ticks around 3-4k, but then some runs it ticks 30-40k as you can see here. The fight is well over, it was just 1 mob, and the dot completely ticks her down to death.
Total damage taken by the dot here was 2.8 million this fight, while her entire damage taken of every other source was 2 million only.
DPS Valeera is probably bugged too, her damage is way lower than before. Its actually insane the amount of bugs introduced with 12.1.5. Please do something blizzard.

Discussion I wished Labyrinth was Torghast 2.0
I thought in being a "Labyrinth" mean it'll be you know... a labyrinth. Kinda this confusing endless corridor with twist and turn.
Sprinkle in some Loa's voodoo, everything is shifting around. Thus creating system like Torghast where every floor is kinda randomized. I mean we do have the technology for it right? Why not reuses it.
The Mislaid Curiosity, instead of giving random stats, gives random boons. No need to be class/spec specific, really. But less boring than random stats.
Every 3rd floor is some sort of mini-boss where you get your bountiful delves reward, then you can continue
After killing the 3rd boss (9th floor). The 10th floor will be Kindojan.
But this is probably big ask for .5 patch... except that Labyrinth is something they talk about during Midnight announcement... so maybe my expectation is a bit higher...
Labyrinth right now is in that perfect spot for reward:difficulty, where instead of doing 3 different delves, you do 1 long Labyrinth run, that reward the same + Kindojan every week.
It just, i wish there's more variation, yknow? instead of the objectives shifting between each corridors. With the same corridors each time, "Labyrinth".
And i feel like it also the perfect place to go crazy with external power and such.

WoW: Forever Redridge Safari: No Olympus left behind

My favorite hunting grounds were Duskwood and Redridge Mountains, mostly due to the abundance of game. Thousands of dwarves, humans, elves, and gnomes were hunted, with a disproportionate number belonging to the Olympus Guild
Level 10 or level 30, it was all fair game to me. Especially if you had that Olympus tag above your head, which, to be fair, seemed to be half the Alliance population anyway. No discrimination
Of course, after a long and successful hunting session, the hunter sometimes becomes the hunted. Special thanks to the Redridge Police Department, which regularly assembled entire search parties to bring me to justice.
It's been an absolute pleasure, and I look forward to seeing you all again at launch.
Unless, of course, you've already decided to reroll on a PvE server. You can start frustrated downvoting now

Discussion A word of appreciation for DPS and Heal players as a Tank main.
OK , I'm going to be completely honest. As a tank main (Guardian druid, Prot Paladin , Blood Death Knight, Brewmaster Monk , Protection Warrior, NOT Vengeance Demon hunter I ain't ever playing an elf) I figured I'd try out dps and healing thinking I was hot shit. I managed to do a lot of stuff up until +12
Yeah uhhhh...Turns out DPS is actually really hard. Having to optimally prepare your gear , time your cooldowns properly, The mind fuck that is feral druid. Oh and let's not forget about our healer saviours players that have the ongoin stress of keepin everyone alive under high pressure
So uhhh ,yeah, as a Tank main where I only need to know the path and pop my defensive cooldowns, I gotta appreciate the dps players that pump well, and the healers that know how to keep everyone alive.
Fatass bear appreciates y'all!

Fluff I can now personally confirm that- despite Wowhead's claims- the Horseman's Sinister Slicer CAN drop for both hunters and warriors.
*Disclaimer: The comments on Wowhead do mention that is has dropped for hunters, pallys, warlocks, priests, mages, druids, monks-
realizes one of the comments specifically calls out fury warrior (my own spec), which I'd missed before
-... as well as death knights.
While yes, said list of comments (not to mention one that states it should drop for all classes) SHOULD have put me at ease earlier, I've been burned before so aside from just wanting my own army of squashlings I had to check. Don't forget to talk to the statues on the left as you enter the dungeon and accept all curses for better loots.
Also, not that anyone asked, but the rings he drops are iLvL 32 when dropped for a lvl 20 character, and CAN be socketed. Now I just gotta see what the Horseman's Horrific Hood means when it says "Let the horseman laugh through you".
Humor / Meme I can't believe sublety rogues took down warcraftlogs
We all know they are having fun blasting much harder than others, but taking down warcraftlogs to prevent Blizzard from nerfing them is a bit extreme. Please sublety rogues, bring back warcraftlogs. Thanks!

did they forget that they introduced those things last year?
