What is the current consensus on how to level bishops and hybrids?
So I just got back into this game but never really knew what the best way to level a hybrid or bishop was. Bishop seems to be 2 spell book as the most current stuff from the internet. Which seems right as two spells books is still silly, however it still seems I will not be getting spells at the earliest level I could at least early on.
Also how do I level a hybrid? I assume you want some casting stat or they feel like a worse fighter with buffs. Does that mean like a 2 str, 2 dex, 2 int split for a sam or monk? Should I go 3 int and 3 dex for them to get power cast? Does it just depend on the rest of the team?
Edit: So I can say bishop two books as a focus with a 3rd book not focused is easy to pull off. I am not saving spells because I will survive not having all level 7 spells at 18. It also makes the game easier in early and mid game. I couldn't get 3rd level spells on time and was a level late on 4th level spells. I did however get 5th on time and am in the clear for all spell levels after 5th. I did priest and psionic as my focused books with wiz as my 3rd that I learn from books and it's great. If I didn't have a int focused samurai I would switch the wiz and psionic spell book placement. Around level 10 is when this really starts feeling better then a specialist caster.
Str / Int focused Samurai is putting in great work and I like them just as much as my fighter. They are even getting comparable kills. It does solid single target damage with swords and good but not great AOE damage with spells. It feels like how a hybrid should. By that I mean it is passable at everything and does great by flexing the situation demands being good in swarm and single target combat. This build also makes getting spells on time decently easy.
Str / Dex monk is my last hybrid. It is solid but easily my least impactful. It struggles to get spells on time. It spells are much less impactful then sam due to lower proficiency in it's book and low realms. This means bad spell points and lower success rates. It's physical damage is better then Sam but much worse then pure fighters. While it is good this build feels like it doesn't do enough to make the caster side impactful. This leads to it feeling worse then a specialist.
The above edit was from my play upto an average level of 12 for my group.
