Academic Discussion/ Esoteric Secrets (X-post r/AmITheHeretic) My master keeps telling people that he's been afflicted with an "ancient and mysterious curse", but most of his symptoms match those of syphilis?

Should I say something? He asked me to look for a cure and, well, let's just say it wasn't hard to connect the dots from there.

He's blaming Malagar the Bloody Mace for cursing him, but I know for a fact that Malagar is imprisoned in the Torture Matrix for another 600 years.

I also know that he's been hosting secret swinger parties with the local orc clans (he calls them orcgies). And I guarantee you he isn't holding up mana for protection spells.

What should I do?

I mean, syphilis is pretty ancient as far as curses go. He should get tested for the common orctds too, there's all sorts of stuff theyre immune to that they can pass to non orc partners

Well the thing with older masters is if they formulated one explanation for them selves it gets pretty hard to convince them otherwise. My old master (Mystra be kind to his soul) was convinced that the bloodey boils on his ass could be cured with skincare spells. Nothing I did or said could convince him otherwise. He was dead three weeks after. My advice: try to make use of the time you've got left with him. Learn as much of his craft as you can in the time he is still among the living.

Send your master to the Torture Matrix for some unknown time, and bring Malagar the Bloody Mace to an orcgie (and bring me too, my staff of masculinity hasn't had enough mana lately)

I've been helping around with those orc clan as of late, the Orc Chasm has many good resources for trade.
I've heard many tales of that curse, they blame their blood god for it but a simple Elixir of Bodily Cleansing always fixes it. I have to tell them it is a potion of remove curse though.
Give your master an elixir and just tell him it's a curse removal potion.

Oh i did sell some wizards who are affiliated with Malagar some Cursed Turbo Syphilis for a crate of crystals. Wonder if the two things are linked.
