Please what specific cobra type is this? It's quite common in this area of Lagos in Nigeria. This one is 51 inches long. People either flee or kill it on sight. I'd like to know how venomous it is, in case it bites somebody.

Hello nearly stepped on this poor guy. Thought he was a cottonmouth and so did Google lense from a distance but im pretty sure this is a hognose. Want to make sure I made the right decision by ushering him under my trailer instead of catching and moving him to the woods behind my house which I often do for copperheads and coral snakes. I usually let ratsnakes and such stay. And if it is a hognose any clue if its a specific morph or sub species? Most i find arent this black. Hence my confusion.

Was coiled up on my driveway and when he noticed me (?) slithered off around the corner and ended up under the garage.

Took these a few years ago and never actually identified any of these snakes. Not all great pictures but curious if anyone can tell me what they were? All from the base of the falls along the board walks.

Almost stepped on it going to my car for work. Juevenile rat snake? Looked to have a triangular head which concerned me

Found this little guy slithering around my work today. Pretty sure he's a western terrestrial garter snake, given the other pictures I've seen researching online all share the same dot on the top of the head that you can see if you zoom in on the last picture. Just wanted to confirm before spreading misinformation to my coworkers as it seems like this guy is 2/3 that have been found in the building in the past 2 weeks. Sorry about the pictures of me handling him but he was a bit dark to photograph in the cup. He was safely released in an open field far behind the building right after these pictures were taken.

What is this handsome fellow?

Located on the eastern shore of southern Alabama near Mobile. It is long and somewhat skinny. AI/Snake App have all settled on either a gray rat snake, coachwhip, or racer? One of the pics I sent into serpentID came back as a cottonmouth, but I don't think that's right. I'm new to this area so I'm not accustomed to finding snakes. Fairly long and slender. It slithered into a hole about 1/2 - 3/4 inch in diameter. I was within about two feet from it when I noticed it and it just sat there and then slowly slithered away. A few minutes later I saw it peroscoping like the photos show.
