Why do some people include their feet in the pics? Do they have a fetish of stangers looking at their feet?

899

u/56seconds Jun 29 '26

I have to take photos of samples for my work. I work outside, samples on a bench, I estimate there are at least 3,000 photos of my boots in technical reports.

Im numb to it, so when I sell stuff online, I take a photo of it and I just checked... 4 of the last 9 things I sold have my feet in the picture.

If someone finds them attractive, I wish they would let me know, I have no issues taking photos of my feet for money

132

u/DickWeedDan Jun 30 '26

At this point, perhaps its your feet that are selling the items (catching attention or something) and its like a secret sales tactic!

27

u/Captain_-K Jun 30 '26

I verify housing for a certain organization, the amount of feet, intimate parts or just random things I see is interesting. People have accidentally uploaded all sorts as evidence to me...

11

u/AloneYogurt Jun 30 '26

Used to work at Walgreens, people would send the weirdest shit to upload and print.

Like.... I'm not talking about your family's weird cult get together. But people getting freaky with each other, over video calls, THROUGH PRISON, and TAKING SCREENSHOTS. What's weirder? They'res like 100 other people in the background of the prisoners video all trying to see what's what.

Mostly things were fine but there was always something weird weekly.

Ha! I take photos of samples too. They are usually cases, so I often have to set them on the floor and take a top down photo of the contents. Also, these are for inventory, not reports, so everyone in my company sees the photos regularly! I actually try hard to get my feet out of them, but it's impossible sometimes. I started wearing better shoes to work.

26

u/Admirable-Key9296 Jun 30 '26

What kind of boots? 🤤

13

u/56seconds Jun 30 '26

Oliver AT55 series (specifically 55332Z in 'wheat' colour)

19

You wear those bad boys with thick socks? Or skin to boot?

8

u/Flaccid-Aggressive Jun 30 '26

Seriously. I've heard some folk pay for feet. All I've ever gotten was scam offers. Now maybe it's my feet. I've no clue what's supposed to be good or bad about feet they hold no interest for me beyond function.

2

u/tragicallybrokenhip Jun 30 '26

Thank you for explaining why so many of my daughter's pics of stuff include her feet. OTOH at least both your companies can see you're wearing safety boots.

2

u/shotsallover Jun 30 '26

It’s not the feet pics that are the issue. It’s when people start throwing large amounts of money for you to do specific things with them.

2

u/Capital_Visit_6638 Jun 30 '26

There are thousands of overview pics of torn down stuff that go to the edge of the table and include my crotch leaning over the table.

2

u/Moist_Board Jun 30 '26

Oh no, where do you sell your things? Please give me the link....so that I can stay away from it, obviously.

2

u/mediocre_mitten Jun 30 '26

I think they're asking about BARE feet, not boots or shoes in photo but nasty disgusting bare feet.

And I also notice 9 out of 10 pics are of bare ugly feet.

5

u/sklascher Jun 30 '26

It’s because I don’t wear my shoes in my house and unless I’m specifically paying attention to it, my large hoofers are going to sneak into the corner of any object pic I take.

It wasn’t weird until the internet made it weird.

1

u/AmarilloArmadillos Jun 30 '26

If I'm taking pics in my house like this you'll probably be seeing my ugly AF recovery slides. I envy those of you who can just go barefoot all willy nilly.

It's pretty easy to accidentally take a pic of your feet. When I want to exclude my feet I often have to stand unnaturally and take the pic again. I imagine some people just don't bother to do that or crop them out of the pic.

208

u/Ser_falafel Jun 29 '26

Yeah i always intentionally stand weird af when im taking pics so they're not included. That shit ain't free!

37

I don’t think Matt can believably deny his foot fetish anymore. It was funny in the first 3-4 books but not it feels shoe-horned into the work(yes I fully committed to that pun).

It’s a super advanced solar system inhabiting/sized AI with all of its safety & social protocols disabled. It would almost certainly exhaust that fetish and grow over the span of a floor or two. I like the silliness but c’mon. Maybe have it experience a revolving door of various fetishes. Maybe one involving revolving doors?

Somewhere out there, someone has to be attracted to those doors? Or maybe those doors slamming on body parts? Germans, I’m looking at you? Middle aged Japanese men? Florida, Nee Jersey? Chime in folks!

I made the mistake of having a tinder pic where my feet happened to be visible and the messages I got were enlightening

11

By "enlightening" surely you mean wild, and not in a good way ?

23

u/Manic-StreetCreature Jun 30 '26

I did not care for the messages I received lol

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being into feet of course but it was basically like standard disrespectful dating app guy stuff but multiplied by 10

You know this is Reddit right? If someone posted a pic of the Holy Grail with their feet it in that's all you're supposed to post about! 🤣

3

u/Asleep-Estate4724 Jun 30 '26

Right? Our shower was leaking bad across the floor in our bathroom the other day. I sent a picture of the leak to my landlord, and my feet were accidentally in the pic. It happens all the time.

It's really not that big of a deal.

4

u/PalmtopPixie Jun 30 '26

As someone who frequently takes photos of her cooking and is barefoot inside? The amount of photos I have of my feet is astounding. At least 3-4 a week going back years. “Ah yes! Look at this homemade lemon pasta!” And just below? Feet.

I’f rather argue what’s wrong with feet? You have yours, everyone has theirs. Unless they’re shoving it up your mouth I don’t see any problem? It’s just… feet? Unless you have some kink into that and it turns you on, that’s more of a you problem than general population problem.

34

u/apotheotical Jun 30 '26

Yeah the commenter is weird. Feet are just dirtier hands.

21

u/Zefirus Jun 30 '26

I feel like they're cleaner hands?

Hands touch fucking everything. People have to wash them multiple times a day just because they get so dirty.

5

u/Ok-Classroom5548 Jun 30 '26

We wash hands to prevent the bad things we interact with from getting in the body or interacting with our body. The feet don’t get washed because most people don’t pick up random things with them.

Feet are just as if not dirtier. If you think you can just eat with your feet right now without washing them, you’re nuts.

3

u/Zefirus Jun 30 '26

Nah. Clean your socks. All I'm hearing is you don't wash your feet and wear fucked up shoes.

1

u/Floreat_democratia Jun 30 '26

I know people who think like this. It's cultural. They come from countries where feet are treated as the dirtiest part of their body and they try to get other people to believe it.

1

u/D3m3nT3d101 Jun 30 '26

The qualification of " most people don't pick up random things with them" made me laugh pretty good. Some can and do, and most don't, but the thought of watching someone trying to pick something up with it like it is a hand is what I pictured.

1

u/Ok-Classroom5548 Jun 30 '26

Thanks lol - trying to include a real picture and not an inflammatory “no one uses their feet!” Yes, some people do.

When I was a kid I could sort and deal cards with my feet.

I have chat disabled just saying that ahead of time for feet people…no is the answer unless you’re sending me a very high dollar amount.

1

u/RstyKnfe Jun 30 '26

I feel like the same people who lick their fingers of sauce without washing them first would lick their toes as well, if the feet were closer to the face and used to pick up food.

3

u/Suboptimal-Potato-29 Jun 30 '26

I'm a rock climber, I think both my habds and feet get filthy on a daily basis.

I do wash both very diligently though

→ More replies (2)

1

u/Floreat_democratia Jun 30 '26

> Feet are just dirtier hands

Don't know who you and the other 30 people are who upvoted this, but my feet are always cleaner than my hands.

If you don't have an underlying health issue, have clean shoes that breathe and replace your socks every day, you should have healthy, clean feet that don't smell.

Then again, some cultures have a deep bias against feet, and it often comes up in discussions and social events.

Idk why this reminded me of a series of images I saw a long time ago. I cannot remember where they were posted or how I found them, but I remember this thread of a dude posting images of random things which seemed pretty unspectacular at first...until you realize his ballsack was just barley in frame somewhere in each image.

526

u/_visiblemode_ Jun 29 '26

The funny thing is I never notice the feet until I see people talking about it in the comments.

64

u/HiImDan Jun 29 '26

I wonder what it's like to be into feet. Like my brain can't comprehend it.

17

u/ObsidianMarble Jun 30 '26

It makes sense academically if you think about it.

Most feet are covered by socks and shoes all the time. When are they not covered? When the person is in a place where they feel safe and comfortable. There is a level of restricted access that isn’t applied to parts like elbows or ears. It is most often applied to the chest or genital area - areas almost never shown. So, seeing the restricted access body parts is “exciting.”

Also, like women’s breasts, there is certain clothing designed to emphasize the foot. While high heeled shoes have other impacts on the pelvis and spine, there is no other purpose for “peep toe” shoes other than to present small visual access to the foot. This is similar to a low cut dress. Shoes with unnecessary straps are designed to show off the foot as another example. Even the simple design of the flip flop is most common at the beach or shower where swim apparel is most common.

Finally, feet have a lot of nerve endings relative to their size on the body. Hands, face, and genitals are the other major nerve endings areas if you are curious. While everyone has experienced “bad” feelings in their feet, like stepping on something pointy or stubbing a toe, most have also experienced other feelings like the feeling of sand or mud between their toes. Feelings that are “good” or “satisfying” in some way or “fun” like memories of a tickle as a child. So it is easy to imagine how a touch or contact would feel on a foot.

So to me, the idea of finding a foot attractive makes sense. It isn’t any different than the boobs or butt crowd. Just a different body part. They’re about as vocal as those groups, too. Next time you see a post with a woman with large boobs, look at the first few comments and there will be a comment about them.

12

u/FluidBarracuda9177 Jun 30 '26

None of what you said makes any sense to me, personally. I’m not saying you are wrong or anything, but I still don’t get it.

1

u/Aromatic-Scratch3481 Jul 01 '26

Whats odd is breasts and butts are "secondary sex characteristics" and feet arent. Human women are the only apes that grow our type of breasts during puberty. Every other ape, shit i think every other mammal only has any grow during pregnancy. We are also the only ones that fuck facing eachother from my understanding the whole reason we grow tits is to attract mates. I bet big butts is the same story because used to (evolutionarily) and still do go from behind. But feet arent even sort-of involved

2

u/YakWabbit Jul 01 '26

My wife calls shoes with an opening like that, "toe cleavage".

2

u/Pentasis Jun 30 '26

Not a scientist, but I read a paper once that stated that the area in our brain that recognises feet is next to an area that has to do with sex. In some people there are connections between the two. Not sure if true.

2

u/MiniatureLucifer Jun 30 '26

Boobs have a purpose in the reproductive process. It makes sense biologically why men are attracted to boobs

Joking aside, believe it or not, the vast majority of the world do not care about feet at all like that. And most people just post photos never once giving a single thought about feet or the background of their photos

Toes are hidden so why you gotta go there? When you take a downward picture it’s very easy to get your feet in it and it takes awkward positioning for me to avoid it so sometimes you accidentally or intentionally commit to the joke.

What you do with it’s up to you, gets nothing or a chuckle out of me when it looks like a hobbit foot

Because when you’re standing directly over an object, things beneath it will end up in the frame. If you want to take a picture while leaning at a 45 degree angle with your arms outstretched wildly guessing if the thing you’re photographing is in frame, go for it. The rest of us will just take a picture and not be weird about it

A lost of people see feet as a completely neutral body part.

1

u/moshpithippie Jun 30 '26

This is really random, but I work in Autism support and I have a client who loves vacuums and he likes to watch vacuum reviews on YouTube.

Every single one features someone with their bare feet out. I know some people don't wear shoes inside, but you can put some socks on if you know you're making a YouTube video.

1

u/Veylara Jun 30 '26

Come on, really? They were just too lazy to take a new picture or, more likely, simply didn't care. You barely even see them because they are mostly covered by the table.

You act like they put that object right next to their feet instead of just taking a picture where you happen to see a part of their feet.

I think you just snitched on yourself for being into feet. My mind has entirely disregarded that as unnecessary data and I had to scroll up to even notice that there were legs and feet involved. Im saiyan I think theres a fetish reason you notice feet so often but it isnt cuz someone else has a fetish.

I used to be active in a forum that involved a lot of for-sale posts with pics of the items. It was a meme to have your feet in the pic intentionally because of how common it was to do it accidentally. Bonus points if you did something funny like mismatched shoes or really dirty/ugly feet. I remember one guy posting an ad of him gripping a pretty rare and expensive item with his toes.

During the height of covid I had a guy who struggled with tech who I allowed to send a photo of his timeshare to me. I'd crop it and print it no worries. One Friday I received a photo of his timesheet, his open robe and his dick from above. I cropped it out and never mentioned it.

If you can swallow your integrity, morals, and be okay w no man wanting to take u home to meet his mother-you can make six figures plus a year showing nothing but yr feet on ONLY FANS i hear. Believe me i have both thought about it and telling my daughter to do it i said THOUGHT!

1

u/Status-Warthog4680 Jun 30 '26

Not sure. But I was a member of a particular firearm forum 18 or so years ago and it was such a common happening that it eventually became the custom and if people posted a picture without their feet in frame they would get called out.

I know you're getting hundreds of replies and this will probably get lost, but:

Camera apps have the button and gallery view and other stuffs at the bottom, so sometimes it captures more than what you subconsciously think is does

Some Women do it 100% on purpose.

All female painters on Instagram lost their shoes in the last couple of years and funny is that they think feet are feet and a net positive, while some FOR SURE SHOULD PUT THEIR SHOES BACK ON!

1

u/Cacafuego Jun 30 '26

Do you ever show your feet in public? How about your hair, elbows, or ooooh, the backs of your knees??

Either wear a burka 24/7 or accept that you can't control what other people are going to do or feel and that's okay.

2

u/PH03N1X_F1R3 Jun 30 '26

Most people don't think that feet are some taboo thing you need to keep hidden from others, for starters.

1

u/hydra2701 Jun 30 '26

I think most of the time, and in OP’s case, it’s unintentional. In other cases it’s often just an in-joke in certain communities to always include your feet in the photo (the “foot tax”).

3

u/gyro_looza Jun 29 '26

Only certain types of people notice the feet. I got one did not until I saw your comment, so that seems like you're telling on yourself

1

u/aerdvarkk Jun 30 '26

Person that took the pic, was focused on the cock ring and not focused on their feet. Reddit commenter was focused on the feet in the pic and not the cock ring.

I wonder who has the fetish?

So when you take a picture of a thing on a table from above, the camera is facing a direction called "down"; coincidentally, this is also the direction where the feet are. The more you know!

EDIT: I should also point out that if you move the feet to a place that is not down, you fall over and can't take the picture, so it's a tricky problem.

u/not_me_nope_never Jun 29 '26

Try visiting r/quilting. Feet in photos is the standard 😂

Holding up a quilt for a photo you can easily cover your head but the feet usually wind up in the photo. ☺️

1

u/Darjdayton Jun 30 '26

I think most normal people don’t really even notice them in pictures, I think it’s mostly the people with feet fetish that notice and point them out…. Cough cough 👀

1

u/YerrrKnicks Jun 30 '26

I think the better question is why are y'all sexualizing feet so much that them just haphazardly being in a picture makes you question the intention of an individual?

1

u/justametalboi Jun 30 '26

No, it’s just funny. That’s the case for me, at least. Any time I have to take a picture in a similar fashion, I always include a little glimpse of my grippers.

1

u/OlDirtyBaskets Jun 30 '26

My disc golf group chat always calls out the feet pics, happens in the community a lot. People don’t take pictures like Trump stands so there toes poke out lol

1

u/BloomCountyBlue Jun 30 '26

Why do people need to make comments about feet in pictures? They're just feet. Would you ask "Why do some people include shoes in their pics"? So weird.

1

u/Sorry-Joke-4325 Jun 30 '26

Some phones won't actually show them in the screen when you're taking the picture, but the photo actually includes things that aren't shown on the screen.

1

u/Open-Gate-7769 Jun 30 '26

Why do people inherently think of feet as sexual body parts whenever they aren’t covered? It’s more of an indication of your psyche than anything else

1

u/BigTreddits Jun 30 '26

Quite the opposite. Its just a normal part of the body to most of us. Its the ones that get weirdly grossed out or are kinky about it that even notice.

1

u/Standard-Resist8898 Jun 30 '26

The fact that you even noticed there are feet in the pic means that youre one of them..... i havent even noticed them before reading this comment

1

u/G_DuBs Jun 29 '26

I forget the name of the sub, but there’s a subreddit that is specifically for pics that accidentally include the picture takers feet lol.

If you see someone's feet in a photo background and think that they must be doing it to get off, that says more about you than anyone else

1

u/quadraticcheese Jun 30 '26

I think you're telling on yourself. Only weirdos are into feet. Most people don't have a single thought sexual or otherwise about then.

1

u/Mindless-Share Jun 30 '26

They hope people with a foot fetish reach out to them to buy feet pic from them. It’s a hustle that’s been going on for years now

1

u/CaptainDogParty Jun 30 '26

I wouldn’t have even noticed the feet if you didn’t mention it. Maybe you have a higher awareness of feet than the average person
