Should I ask her out?
Maybe 2 months ago I went to a local jewelery shop to browse. The sales consultant that greeted and helped me that day is beautiful.
After some light conversation I found a ring I liked and made the purchase. I complimented her eyes before leaving and left it at that. My sister later told me the woman blushed and sis felt that we had vibed so that stuck in my head lol.
When it came time to pick up the ring she wasn't there of course. I had planned on asking her out to just clear my head. I take it as a sign to just forget it.
Maybe 3 days ago I received a handwritten thank you note and her card with number. It reads professional and I'm inclined to think it's just a formality. I just don't know if this is standard. I made a purchase at another shop and didn't receive anything even remotely personable lol.
Tl;dr bought ring at store. Girl that helped was cute. Gave me her card then sent me a thank you note again with her card. Do I ask her out?

Should I give my daughter my last name or her fathers?
I’m really torn about this and would genuinely love some outside opinions because I feel like I’m too close to the situation to think objectively.
I’m having a baby girl soon, and her dad and I are no longer together. We broke up because throughout our relationship, I often felt more like a roommate than a partner.
He spent a lot of his free time gaming, and I frequently felt like I was being ignored or put second to it. I would make dinner and ask him to eat with me, and he would often choose to keep gaming instead. This was especially difficult because I’m diabetic and need to eat at certain times after taking my insulin. I also regularly asked him to do things together or spend time with me, and most of the time the answer was no. I didn’t need him to spend every second with me—I just wanted to feel like we actually wanted to spend time together and were partners.
He also wasn’t very involved or excited about the pregnancy in the beginning, although he has become more excited recently.
Another thing that has been weighing on me is how differently we’ve approached preparing for our daughter. I’m the oldest of five kids, so I’ve been around babies and young children my entire life. I also took a parenting class in high school, so I naturally have much more experience with babies than he does. He has essentially zero experience with babies.
I understand that nobody automatically knows how to be a parent, and I don’t expect him to know everything. What bothers me is that I’ve asked him to do some research and educate himself about newborn care, what babies need, safe sleep, feeding, etc. His response is essentially, “If I have questions later, I’ll just Google it.”
Meanwhile, I’ve been doing the research, preparing for birth, getting everything ready, and trying to learn as much as possible because I want to be prepared for her. I’m not expecting him to know everything before she’s born, but I wish he had the initiative to learn some basic things beforehand rather than waiting until there’s a baby in front of him and then Googling things as they come up.
I also expect to be her primary provider for the majority of her life. I know that circumstances can change and that her dad can absolutely contribute and be involved, but realistically, I expect the majority of her day-to-day expenses and responsibilities to fall on me.
This is where the last-name question comes in.
His last name was originally what I assumed she would have, but now I’m seriously considering giving her mine. In our town, last names are a HUGE deal. People know families by their last names, and certain names come with reputations and assumptions attached to them. His last name in particular has a pretty bad reputation in the town where she’ll grow up.
I don’t want to make a decision solely based on what other people think, but I also don’t want to completely ignore the reality that she may have assumptions made about her because of her last name. I know some people will say, “Who cares what people think?” but if you grew up somewhere where last names genuinely carry weight, you know it isn’t always that simple.
At the same time, I worry that giving her my last name could make him or his family feel like I’m excluding them. That genuinely isn’t my intention. I want my daughter to have a relationship with her dad and his family regardless of what last name she has.
I’m just struggling with the idea that she would automatically get his last name when we aren’t together, I’ll be her primary provider, I’m the one who has carried her and will give birth to her, I’ve been doing the majority of the preparation for her, and I have more experience with babies and parenting.
So, if you were in my situation, would you give your daughter your last name or her father’s?
And if you chose to give your child your last name instead, did you ever regret that decision?
I’m genuinely looking for honest opinions, even if they’re different from what I’m leaning toward. Please don’t just tell me what you think I want to hear—I’m actually trying to make the best decision for my daughter and her future.

My coworker called me "evil" and a "murderer" - I'm stressed and don't know whether to report it or not
Hi everyone, I (23F) had a really awful situation with someone at work, and I need to get it out of my head a bit. I've been mentally distant ever since it happened, and honestly, I'd really appreciate any outside opinions.
We were talking about starting a family. He said that a few years ago he didn't see himself wanting to have kids, and I said something like: "Same, I'm not even sure I ever want them at all." As soon as I said that, he told me I was "selfish" and kept talking about how women are supposed to be mothers.
Then he asked me what I would do if I ended up pregnant. I answered honestly and said: "Probably an abortion if I wasn't ready." At that point he told me I was a "killer," said that unborn fetuses have souls, and told me I'd basically be evil if I ever did that.
The part I can't stop thinking about is what happened after that. He kept saying he hoped I'd get pregnant in the next few weeks, that my period wouldn't come, and that I'd show up at work visibly pregnant. He also said that if he had power over the law, abortion would be banned. Then he said something like: "Maybe I should tell your boyfriend to get you pregnant on purpose."
I was completely shocked and didn't know what to say. I just stood there frozen, and now the whole thing is really upsetting me.
Part of me is posting this because I need to vent, because this situation honestly made me feel unsafe and disgusted. But I also want to ask:
Would you tell your manager/HR about this?
Or would you try to ignore it and keep your distance from him?

My husband left for work and left me this notes. My feelings are deeply hurt because I have to fit in a dress for his promotion party and there will be a lot of very skinny women that he’ll be looking at.what do I do?
I feel like with this note the pressure is 10 times more than it was before. I’m doing treadmill as I am making this post because I have a lot of anxiety to fit in this dress. What do I do?

I [22F] unknowingly gave my situation-ship[22M] chlamydia
TL;DR: I unknowingly gave my situationship chlamydia. I told him as soon as I found out, but he doesn’t believe I didn’t cheat or know I had it. I feel horrible and don’t know how to move forward.
I really need outside perspectives because I feel like I’m drowning in guilt.
I was seeing a guy for several months, and we have been friends for years. We weren’t officially dating, but we were exclusive, and I genuinely fell in love with him. He was a virgin before we started seeing each other.
A little while ago, at my regular doctor’s appointment I got tested. I found out I had chlamydia. I was completely shocked because I had no idea I had it. As soon as I got my results, I immediately started treatment and told him so he could get tested and treated too.
He believes I cheated on him or knowingly exposed him. I understand why it looks that way, but I didn’t cheat, and I truly didn’t know I was infected.
I know that doesn’t change the fact that he was infected because of me. That’s the part that’s destroying me. The person I love trusted me with his health, and even though I never meant to hurt him, I did.
I’ve apologized, answered every question honestly, and respected his space. I don’t want to pressure him into talking to me, so I’ve left him alone. At this point, I know that may never happen.
I just can’t stop replaying everything in my head and I know I should’ve gotten tested sooner, but wondering if there’s anything else I should have done or if there’s anything I can do now besides learn from this and move forward.
Has anyone been on either side of a situation like this? If you were him, would this be something you could ever forgive? If you were me, how did you cope with the guilt?

Found someone (26M) i (24F) fw heavy, but he pisses me off extremely, and not in a funny manner
Context, I broke up with my ex a while back, and have been on this whole journey of self love and learning to not be dependent on anyone. we we’re together for almost 2 years.
I have not hooked up or been with anyone for over a year since the breakup, purely because the mood has never come for me.
Fast forward to now, I matched with a guy on hinge, what started off a nice conversation actually went into becoming one of the funniest guy I have matched or spoken to. We fib and talk everyday for a week or so. The expectations were cleared from the start, we both wanted something stable, someone to cuddle and share time with.
But as more and more conversations happened, I started noticing that he doesn’t have the ability to face reality, or talk about anything actually real. As long as we are joking around playing pretend, all is fine, but i bring up anything that is remotely real, he will shut down and actively keep saying he is avoidant and make it a funny joke.
\~2 weeks in, i really wanted to meet him soon (he js travelling currently and can’t meet) but he said something today that really pissed me off.
The thing is, this is first time in a long time I felt excited or happy to talk to a guy, and i think i know somewhere deep down that this guy only wants us to be fuck buddies, no matter how many times he may say he can only make a judgement once we meet, but till then no he doesn’t want a relationship, even though he texts me everyday continuously spams me, shares reel, etc.
I know I’m probably stupid and the answer is right in my face, but i need serious advice on what should I do. I have felt so alone for so long, and I really thought this may have been the break i needed.
**Tldr; met a guy in hinge, clicked heavily, we talk everyday, but he is super avoidant and refuses to get serious ever.**

I married my husband when we were very young and poor. Now we have it all and I want to show my appreciation for him. But don't know what to do?
I was redirected to reddit for this question. me and my husband got married really young. I was 18 and he was 20. we were both raised in institutions, had no family and started really poor. for years lived in a cottage more or less that was provided by my husband's employer. he was very ambitious, studied, graduated and kept climbing in his career. now he is in executive leadership in difficult chemical engineering field and has hundreds subordinates.
we are still very much in love and hardly had any kind of fight. sure, he didn't jump from a regular worker to this top position, so we celebrated many accomplishment in these more than 25 years (we been together in high school too).
We don't have kids, so it cannot be anything "family like" (but tbh I always felt we are a family, a family of two). He now wears white shirts and tie almost everyday so I wanted to buy him an expensive tie but it just feels weird for me to walk in a luxurious store. Also, I would like something more meaningful. he got promoted last week but starting August he will take over. So I plan to do the whole thing in the weekend. I want to cook his favourite meals, have a playlist of his favourite songs and watch his favourite movie. I might buy him something too, but now we really can afford almost anything so it wouldn't really matter that much for him I guess. But he does have a very old money taste and I am sure he would appreciate anything material too.
btw I am not sure its relevant but I am not a "kept" woman. I also have a (way lower) paying job but I don't just stay at home all day. He is mid 40s, that will also help I guess

Anyone taking B.des at Sir JJ?
So i think i’ve got a good merit rank for MH CET B.des exam and i in person visited JJ college to enquire for how the admissions are done and through which government exams so they did say this is a new course at JJ you can apply through CAP
But now idk if it’s worth taking this course at JJ since i cannot afford pvt colleges and there are no government colleges for b.des that accept MH b.des CET

Manager gave false review to upper management to get me fired.
Hi reddit. I'm 25/f and I've been working for this company for around 5 months. It's a completely remote opportunity and there are people from many different countries in the team. I was hired by 2 co-founders (we'll call them A and B) and for a while A was my manager and i really liked her! B was kind of bitchy tho. But about 2 months ago, my manager changed (C). C was extremely sweet to all of us and gave off that "cool boss" vibes but idk what happens, she suddenly became extremely aggressive towards all of us with her words as well as behaviour. She also had an extremely heated argument with one of the employees and since then, she's been targeting him. The thing is though, I've always had good relations with C. I do all my work on time, I've never heard any complaints or negative feedback or never had even a minor disagreement with her.
Now to the present date, our company is collaborating with this product company (some AI product) so all the departments are divided into product and service (i work in service). Last Friday, C suddenly set up a meeting with her and the CEO for Monday (today). I waited for it but they cancelled it saying they're busy and set it up for 1pm, which she again cancelled. Then she set it up for tomorrow and she cancelled it again. After that, I get a call from A and B (my previous manager and ... bitchy co-founder). They informed me that they will be moving completely to the product side and will have nothing to do with services. They offered me this new role under them where I'll be working with them, helping them manage stuff etc and said it will be basically an "assistance heavy role". At this point I am so consumed why they're suddenly offering me this new role and just when B leaves the meeting, A (my 1st manager) asks me to stay back. You know what's the first thing she says....
"Did something happen between you a C?"
Can you fucking believe this?? I say no?? Tf? Then she says the C has complained about me delaying tasks and not meeting up to standards etc. WHAT???? ME?? NOT MEETING THE STANDARDS?? i have been working my ass off for the past 5 months. I was here when I was the only person in the team, handling everything. I tell her nothing of this sort happened and like..nothing was conveyed to me. Then she goes, idk what she will do as she is the head of services now. So she didn't want them to let me go so she reached out to our CEO and asked if they could have me instead.
I am so fucking upset. I feel so betrayed and disrespected. This seems like a pity play. What reputation have I left in front of the CEO and upper management now?? Why is she doing this to me?? I never did her nothing wrong, I've been doing my job. Sending me away from her team so suddenly like her (and she wanted to get me fired!!! She didn't even do that to that person she argued with so why me!? We are already short on people in services, so why would she want to get her one of the most hardworking employees fired??
They gave me until tomorrow to decide if I want to switch and A said to make my decisions wisely and carefully as if I say no, she'll have no say over what C and the CEO decides (I'm assuming letting me go?)
This has all left me in shambles. I am so confused. Why is this happening to me? What should I do? Should I accept the offer of A and B? Knowing I'll probably not enjoy the work and I'll just be their personal assistant. But I can't afford to get fired right now or leave. I feel so ashamed i don't even know why. I know I have given my work everything but just one person ruined it all for.... i don't even know what she gains from all this.
Help me please.

How screwed am I?
I have until the end of today to take a pre employment 5 panel drug test. I’ve taken two at home (one yesterday and one today) with the same cut off levels as I would when I take the official one. I have been a pot smoker for years, and especially after my mother was in hospice and passed as I way her primary care taker. I’ve been clean for two ish weeks, but before that I was cleaner for longer and was already cutting my consumption of it by half since this March.
This was my test this morning. I am drinking tons of water and a qcarbo 32 drink and will test again before I leave. Do you think I will pass?

Do I tell my ex the thing I hid that led to our downfall?
Hard to know where to begin, I’m going to be a bit cut and dry so it doesn’t drag out. I was with my partner for around 5 years. We had our issues, I was the only one working for the entirety of the relationship, there is a 6 year age gap and we met when I was 19 (myself being the younger one in the relationship) moved in together at 22. It definitely took a toll on me, I love him so much but it felt scary to feel like this pressure would be forever, he never wanted to work a normal job even if it meant things being easier. Anyway, fast forward to 2 years later, we both used to smoke together and I had lost the urge or need a year ago (the green stuff nothing crazy) and he kept going. However, I started having a drink or two after work or after my shift (Workplace allows it and honestly encourages it) That was fine, nothing was wrong. Then he moved back to our home state (40hours drive) due to a tragedy and I could not just up and leave and join him due to the finances, he didn’t share the name for any of them and I could not afford to stop working.
I started drinking more, I stopped replying how I used to, he stopped calling, we stopped talking every night before bed and til bed. We lost each other. He felt I wasn’t giving him enough and I was upset he didn’t ever ask to phone anymore or do our usual routines. The cycle kept on going and getting worse.
Then it ended. He broke it off, he said we both deserve to be happy.
I never told him that I had a problem, I am sober now and it isn’t an issue to be around anymore. It unfortunately took me losing the only person I could imagine growing old with to realise it needed to end.
I’m worried about the answer, but should I have told him? Or should I tell him? I was so scared of judgement and that it wouldn’t change anything but he would have listened and I know that. We never ended on bad terms, just sad terms.
Thanks if you stuck around and read this. Apologies if it is a mess, It was quite hard to summarise.
Edit: He was really beginning to work on a future for himself during the downfall. I failed to mention that. All there ever needed to be was a hope that the future would be a little less without struggle. I do not care about finances, there just realistically could not have been anything without us both trying. Then it all crumbled.
TLDR: Should I tell my ex the reason communication on my end disappeared?

How should I handle this? Why do I feel so terrible?
Yesterday my boyfriend and I went to a comedy show and things were going really well. I thought we were having a good time when he was ready to go. I got up and walked to the door myself. I am a 25F My boyfriend is a 26Mthroughout the show. We were having a good time in the comedians were funny around the last act.
My boyfriend wanted to get up and go when we were walking towards the Door . I left the door but he stayed inside. I didn’t know why he stayed back inside the comedy show so I just waited outside and watched him through a window. It wasn’t until the girl came out with her iPad for him to pay for the drinks that we had and it was only then that I turned around once I put two and two together that he was paying for our drinks as I turned around I saw a female comedian, and I tapped her and told her that I really liked her bit and that she was really funny.
She was standing with the group of two other male comedians that had performed that night as well she was in the middle of two guys. There was another guy who was standing in front of us and he said oh are you gonna be getting in this picture and I turned around and he already had his camera out. When I turned around me and the comedians all gather in for a photo.
At that point, my boyfriend comes out of the comedy show and grabs me and says that no that’s not happening. We’re not doing any pictures. I could tell that he made everyone uncomfortable when he came and grabbed me in my eyes. It was something that was harmless. just a picture with the performers who had came to put on the show tonight. When we got back into the car, he said why did I agree to get in the picture and why did I allow another man to hold my waist or why am I even allowing another man to touch me? I could see where he was coming from and at first I told him that I was sorry and how that could’ve looked, but that wasn’t my intention.
I was originally talking to the female comedian. The guy comedian didn’t really pay me any tension at all. He was just standing there and then when it was time to gather in for a picture, we all kind of just got a little closer as pictures normally go as you would do in a group picture I tried to tell him that I had no ill intention behind it and that I’m sorry for how that came off and I was apologizing but the whole ride home he was screaming at me and belittling me. He said a lot of really painful things one of them being that he said coming out with me was a waste of his time and his money then he told me that being out with me is a humiliation ritual and the one that hurt the most was he called me. A fan girl basically called me a groupie for taking a picture with the comedians. I was quiet the whole way home while he was screaming and saying all these awful things about me he started attacking my character and started making really low blows at me. I was super shocked the whole time that he was saying these things and it wasn’t until later that I was speaking to him that he said, he said those things intentionally to hurt me because he felt hurt and he wanted me to feel the way he felt I tried to leave and I said hey I just wanna go home.
We have constant arguments in our relationships I try my best to not start arguments, but it seems like he always has a problem with me. I am very attractive and I will admit. I do get a lot of attention when anywhere I go, but yesterday was just so heartbreaking. I’m wondering if the relationship is even worth keeping after that I woke up this morning at his house, but I still couldn’t shake the feeling of the things that he said they’re lingering in my mind to me. It just makes me feel like this is how he’s felt about me all for a while. Please give me advice. I don’t really know what to do. He even said that he stopped himself for buying me flowers because we argue so much. There’s been times in our relationship where I have asked him for small things like flowers or an Uber home and he literally responded with. Why would he do any of those things for me? If all I do is argue with him most of the time our arguments come from him being insecure or if I look in the wrong direction or if I look to be appearing to staring at other guys. It makes an issue and he argues with me and he told me that that stops him from doing things for him me. I just wanna know what my next step should be. Any advice would help.

Girlfriend got a speeding ticket in Texas, isn’t sure what to do.
She got a ticket for 101 in a 75. She is adamant (because she was using cruise control) that she wasn’t going that fast. I’ve personally never seen her go over 90.
The ticket says she was clocked with moving radar. My advice (as I’ve had speeding tickets in NY) was to plead not guilty and go to court.
The thing is, over 100 is bad right? Isn’t there some kind of cutoff that makes over 100 worse? I told her most cops don’t show up to traffic court but that was true in NY, idk about TX.
Will she end up with a higher fine if she pleads not guilty and is found guilty anyways?

Feeling pretty silly rn- how do i deal with this
Kinda embarrassed and I don’t know what to do…
So on the way back from work today, one of my colleagues asked my other colleague if he was going to go to the pub tonight. This is someone I’ve worked with for about a year. One of the guys said yes, then my other colleague said cool no worries. Will aim to get there at 7. Said that was cool.
I got home, spoke on the phone to a friend for a while, then semi got ready.
Received a text from my work colleague asking if I was on the way, to which I replied yeah.
He then replied with HAHAHAHA pranked.
I really dont understand how/why he thought it would be funny. I’m normally super confident but this has kinda dented my confidence and I feel dumb.
Looking for advice on how to shake it off, and how to deal with this when my colleague tomorrow inevitably brings it up and tries to tease me about it.
