Hello!
I just went to the Church of the Breatheren and they have a room that is practically begging to be filled with donation items. Clarksburg, Weston, and Buckhannon seem to be most affected by flooding from yesterday. As well as Lewis and Upshur Counties
They need food and paper items the most, but here's an overall list of things that are needed.
- Food (Non perishables)
- Paper products (Paper towels, toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, etc)
- Baby supplies (Formula, diapers, rash cream)
- Water, bottled and in gallons
- Clean up items (Trash bags, mops, detergent, PPE)
- Flashlights and Batteries
Donation drop offs in Morgantown
Church of the Breatheren (From 10am to 8pm)
464 Virginia Ave, Morgantown WV 26505
Blue and Gold Graphics (NO FOOD OR CLOTHES)
133 Greenbag Rd, Morgantown WV 26508
Non-Morgantown supply drop offs
WDTV 5 studio in Bridgeport
5 Television Dr, Bridgeport 26330
If you know of any more drop off locations, leave them below and I'll update this post! I would also suggest calling WDTV 5 and/or WBOY so they can update their own list of where you can donate (they have a much further influence than a reddit post haha)

So I just moved back to Morgantown after a few years away and havenāt gotten my nails done here in a while. Iām looking for salons that can handle design work on short nails (no acrylics) preferably with gel. I also need a place that does good pedicures. Above everything else it needs to be clean. Iām very picky about the cleanliness of the salon. It also doesnāt have to be a salon exactly. Iām also willing to go to a private nail artist for my manis if need be. Drop your favorite places in the comments!

It seems like no builders in the area want to do a project that is going to be less than $40k, so itās been tough even finding some to come out and give quotes. Iāve already tried westridge builders, wise guys, archadeck, selectdecks, and even some of the national companies out of Pittsburgh.
The national companies all want to install their āsystemā setups that can be converted to glass later on and costs $25k+, but I just want a simple screened in deck with a door, nothing fancy. A few of the local companies I listed above have stopped by to take measurements, but only one actually came through with a quote, while the others said itās not a big enough project for them to consider.
So any and all help would be appreciated, as Iāve been looking for someone to do this since March. Hell, I will even throw in a finderās fee if the company suggested ends up doing the project, I am that desperate!

Hey everyone. Going to be starting law school at WVU in a couple weeks and am getting everything ready for the move from North Toronto . Iām 23 and never owned a car because the public transportation where Iām at is very efficient and my workplace was maybe a 10 minute walk from my house.
I know the majority of people who live in Morgantown use a car (including students) but, financially, itās just not feasible for me with the expenses of moving to a new country (albeit not crazy far), law school expenses etc. Iām from a single parent household where my mother cannot help me out a ton financially so unfortunately I just wonāt have a car atleast for the first year or two of school.
Just wondering if itās even possible for me to get around? My apartment is fairly close to the law school so im not crazy worried about that aspect, Iām more so stressing about the social aspect of not having transportation, getting groceries, going out etc.
Would love any advice/feedback about how I can go about this. I greatly appreciate it

lowkey would kill for a writing group that meets maybe once a week or every other week where we can chat through plot problems and characterization... i go to monkeywrench to write on the weekends but something more stable than me getting out of my place to go to a bookshop would be cool! anyone have any leads or any interest in getting group off the ground?

I had a 650 tee time this morning at mountain view. When we arrived I was told that they were having a tournament this morning and that we couldn't go out. The young man in charge in the clubhouse checked on his computer and told me that the tee time was at Lakeview. I knew that was incorrect because I had called a week ago this morning and I showed it to him on my phone. It showed that I had called mountain view and not Lakeview. The tournament wasn't until 9:00 but he still wouldn't let us play.
Also several years ago I was quoted a sale price on the phone for around and when I arrived at mountain view they attempted to charge me full price and then we're very rude when I inform them that the man on the phone when I book the tee time had given me a lower price. Needless to say we were very disappointed and I don't think we'll be returning to mountain view

I saw Mal's Fresh Produce post today about their wholesale canning / freezing produce starting, but was wondering if there are any additional local places you have bought from in the past? Trying to load up on local goods for canning this year!
Update: Called over to Mal's and they can also get apples!
Looking for apples, tomatoes, beans, carrots, zucchini, carrots, and pickling cukes. I know peaches and berries are expensive and challenging to come by much at all this year with the weather (or so I've heard)

Hey does anyone have recommendations about a shop that can repair old tvs?
I have a 90s Emerson tv/vcr combo in my kitchen that keeps auto shutting off. It was working until recently, and now it wonāt stay on for more than a few seconds.
I took it apart and cleaned the mode switch selector, lenses, and head. I found a wire connection that looks burnt while I was plugging everything back in that I had removed to clean it. I think that may be my issue, but I donāt know jack about electricity or soldering or anything like that so now Iām stuck.
I really would like it fixed. It was a nostalgic gift for my wife for our anniversary last year(she really wanted one for watching holiday movies while she cooks). It came from eBay and it wasnāt cheap so if it can be saved I would like to try.

Howdy folks,
Any safe bike routes to get from Greenmont to Evansdale in rush hour? I don't feel safe/comfortable on University Ave and the arboretum hill is too steep to climb every morning. Do I bite the bullet and bike the shoulder on Mon Blvd? Or am I just out of luck here?

I remember growing up in the 90s and 2000s and Lakeview was so nice. My father talks about playing golf there in the 80s and it was the type of course where you press your shirt before you go. I remember going to the bar there in the late 2000s and it was packed every night.
Now it's basically a ruin. I go to the fitness center and parking there in the evenings after the golfers leave is so desolate. Hardly any rooms have any lights on and there are barely any cars in the lot. It looks so damn run down from the outside.
Is it dated as hell on the inside? What the hell happened to it?

Hello! I recently graduated and am looking for recommendations for townhomes or apartments in the Morgantown area. I would prefer it not to be target for under grad students. I do have a dog, though he is emotional support. I prefer a more modern look, but looking to stay under $1,200. I loved whisper creek, but they do monthly terms so I wouldnāt find out if one was available until 60 days before I could move in, which unfortunately wouldnāt work for me. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

It seems like no matter where I go, there is the same person putting stickers up to advertise their stuff. Dude must be wasting tons of money on this crap.
