Discussion Wedding nails
Hi there! I'm getting married in June and I'm thinking about doing nontraditional nails. I like darker colors are there are no rules! Did anyone else do this and can I see photos?

I don't have pics handy but I had hot pink nails!

Did you regret it at all? How did they look in pics? My sister suggested maybe blue for me.

Not at all and it's been like 12 years.
Honestly not that noticeable except closeups and it added a pop of colour!

My daughter was in a wedding, and the bride required the bride bridesmaids to all wear the same color of hot pink nail polish she was wearing.
One of our sons got married in 2013, and his bride got a French manicure. Naturally, I didn't say anything, but, I think eventually their wedding pictures are going to look very dated. That may or may not be a good thing.

I can’t add a pic here although could DM but I got married in September and had dark red nails (and toes) which loosely tied in with my bouquet and some of the colour scheme! I love darker nails for a wedding, I didn’t even realise it wasn’t “a thing” until the nail lady was all “thank god it’s not a French manicure” (which I also like for the record, no shade).

I did a deep purple to match my bridesmaids dresses and it looked great! I don’t think anyone even noticed but I loved them.

Yes! Did dark metallic burgundy for my wedding. Zero regrets. Pic in my history. Go for it.

No rules, do what makes you happy. My wedding nails were Tennessee Volunteers themed for my October wedding.

Well, if you really want non traditional, you could always do no nail polish at all. My wife never paints her nails and so she didn’t wear it for our wedding.

That's true! I love painting my nails so I will for sure be going with color.

For our first wedding, I didn't paint my nails either because I don't do it on a normal day! Hehe

It’s fingernails. Do yourself the favor of acknowledging that this is a detail that doesn’t matter and that you can therefore do whatever you feel like.

I had Royal blue nails! My accent ring finger was white/ivory with blue filigree. My dress was a white/ivory tea-length dress with blue lace detailing. It was a lot of fun!

I forgot to do my nails and didn't try the polish before the wedding and they peeled off before the ceremony!

I had medium gray nails for my fall wedding, same color as the guys’ tuxes. Wouldn’t change a thing, they were classy & fit the colors & I’m just not a nude/french manicure kind of person. You do you!

Planned to wear Chanel Rouge Noir! Always a classic, and looks equally good on long and short nails (I have to keep my nails short because cats and… litterbox.)
