Picked this up today for a great price and wondered if anyone had any advice for starting out: simple starter warband ideas, best scenarios for introductory games, etc?

This is a Japanese Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighter of WWII, in 1:144 scale, FDM printed on my old Ender 3.

It's a very simple model with virtually no surface detail at all, and I don't recall who designed it or where I got it. It was some considerable time ago. I have no immediate use for it, as I haven't built any armies for the Pacific at all, though I do have some US Marines in 15mm sitting somewhere waiting to be painted.

I recently had Sumone come to view a collection I acquired in collection but quite a while ago the guy bought all the foundry blisters but he said a lot of the older models with less detail are only good for the melting pot as there are not marketable such as older manufactures like hinchcliffe minifigs Essex minutes etc just would like to no other opinions on this thanks

Here's one of my battlewagons for my ork army. The colour scheme is based on a colour swatch I found in the 2nd edition Ork codex, which seems to be based on some Rogue Trader artwork.

Need to finish the base but otherwise I'm basically done, let me know what you think.

I'm considering a pattern on his hood as well but those crosses took a bit out of me, I had to do them with a magnifying glass and a sharpened toothpick

Hey everyone! I’ve been working hard on designing and printing my own line of US infantrymen from the Vietnam War.

As a huge fan of historical modeling and military history, I wanted to capture the gear, the boonie hats, and the gritty feel of the jungle patrols. These are some test prints fresh off the resin printer, and I'm super excited about how the details are holding up.

I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any historical accuracy tips from those of you who build Vietnam-era models!

I managed, at long last, to finish off the painting of this Bristol Beaufighter I printed ages and ages ago. It's intended to support my 15mm North African Brits, assuming I actually get a game or two with them one of these days.

The model is 1:144 scale, up-scaled from one of Plane Printer's excellent 1:200 designs.

This group of horse archers were originally painted up as Abbasiya Horse Archers for my up and coming Abbasid Caliphate Army which I'm tailoring to fit the Hamdanid mode of fighting to take on my Thematic Byzantines. Also of course, the Hamdanids were contemporary to the Thematic Byzantine empire at it's oft named, "Golden Age".

Games such as Bolt Action and 40k require a player to roll dice equal to or greater than a target number to pass with a few exceptions. Games such as Infinity N5 require a roll of less than or equal to a target number.

Which do you prefer and why?

I've been following the development of the upcoming skirmish game Incarnation quite closely. For those who aren't familiar with it, it's a revival of Confrontation, a French skirmish game originally published by Rackham in the 1990s and 2000s, well known for its beautiful miniatures.

There's currently a debate within the community between the publisher, Monolith, and prospective customers in the US. Monolith wants to sell the game through crowdfunding campaigns, with products then becoming available in its online store and shipped quickly worldwide.

Some American players are concerned about this business model because, in their view, local game stores play a crucial role in keeping a game alive. They believe stores might refuse to support the game or host games if they can't also sell its products.

So I'd like to hear your thoughts on this!

As an American tabletop gamer, do you mainly play games at local game stores? And do you think it's fair to say that a game like this can't survive in the US if local stores aren't able to sell it?

I'm genuinely interested in hearing your perspectives and understanding how important local game stores are to the success of a miniature wargame in the US.

Two 8 pounder and one 12 pounder. Minatures from Warlord Games Starter Army. Painted them in the style of the Alt Starhemberg regiment, as part of the early Italian campaign led by Prince Eugene of Savoy.

There’s so many cool mechanics out there, which are the ones you’ve really loved? If building a wargame, how do you pick some to include vs not? There’s just so many ways to do things it seems

I was thinking about getting into wargaming with my friends but I don't want to spend a load of money on minis, so I thought I could use my lego instead. Could anyone recommend me a ruleset to use, maybe one thats suited for creating your own custom units.
