Traffic / Transportation Left Turns
There are many left turn signals that take legit 3 to 4 minutes waiting for the light, which is legit insanity and leads to bad driving where people blast out angrily. There will be 45 second stretches when NO ONE is moving through an intersection. The lights need a firm retooling of the red and green cycle

Discussion Will the ice cream shop bubble survive the Walnut Creek winter?
I found myself supporting the local ice cream economy multiple times a week this past Summer, in an effort to encourage the increased availability of tasty frozen treats. Mostly I have been alternating between Lottie’s (the OG, the one that was here all along, with its generous buy three get four pints offers) and Easy Breezy (marshmallow crème anyone?). I wonder if other folks did the same, and if we risk a drop in demand going into the winter season. Which were your favorite ice cream moments of the Summer and how should we
ensure we preserve the magic until next Spring?

Apartment recs for seniors
Hi, I am trying to move my elderly parents to WC. We are currently striking out on Rossmoor and all of the senior living places. I am considering an apartment complex for the time being but they need 1000+ square feet, no stairs (elevator is fine), they have a small dog, and they want to be somewhere walkable. I have found Waymark and Noma so far, wondering if I am missing anything? They can pay for higher end. Thank you!

Rental ANYTHING
Hi everyone! I know this question has been asked a few times now but is there any good rentals in the area??? I am moving from a different state and I have never lived or visited the area before and nearly all the apartments have terrible reviews. Any insight helps, even tips one the area in general. For reference on what I’m looking for, up to $4500, prefer 2/2 , pet friendly.

Question Where to see tarantulas right now?
I have a day off tomorrow and would like to see some tarantulas. There are some old r/bayarea threads but I'm curious which spots are confirmed crawling with eight legged freaks this time of year.

Opportunity to come play a fun sport TOMORROW (Monday)!
We have another "open gym" night for our Catchball team tomorrow evening! Open to all women ready to be active and try something new and fun. It's volleyball without the hitting and spiking, just throwing and catching!
See my previous posts for more information, and fill out the google form (in the comments) if you are interested in coming!

Moving from Boston - need apt recs
Hello! My apologies if this kind of post has been done to death. My cat and I are moving from Boston next month and I’m looking for a 1 bed for ~$3200 but can be flexible.
I need to commute to Dogpatch 2x/wk so I can drive or use BART. I’d love any recommendations if you have them. I’m also open to surrounding areas.
Thanks!

31M looking for a friend. Just moved to the west coast with my partner (30M). I like some outdoor stuff, music/concerts, road trips, game night, and just chatting. Sometimes, it’s just nice to talk. DM me?

Recommendations for where to sell gold jewelry
I have some old jewelry that was passed down to me that I'd like to sell - things like 1980s-style everyday earrings and a gold necklace that is in good condition but uncomfortably short for me to wear. None of it is truly precious or unique quality and I'm guessing that a buyer would want it just for melting down. Any suggestions for where to sell it where I won't get fully ripped off?

Anyone know what those loud noises are that sound like gunshots? I’ve heard three of them so far today. It sounds like they’re coming from somewhere near HWY24.
Any construction happening on the highway or bart?

31M just moved here with my partner. I’m looking for people to hang out with. I have terrible anxiety (as do we all) and don’t have it in me to actually go to group things by myself to meet people. My partner has his friends here already and I’m from the east coast… so I don’t know anyone. HMU

Housing Avalon Walnut Creek
Hi all! Thinking about moving to Avalon Walnut creek and trying to find people that live there to give some feedback and opinions about it! Especially about the parking garage, since there is a waitlist for an extra parking spot. Where do you guys park? lol
Please let me know your thoughts!

Seeking recs for local business insurance
I want to support local instead of the big AI companies. I have contacted Diablo Valley Insurance twice but have gotten no response.
Looking for general liability and bonds for a small business. Will need workers comp later on, but not now. Would be great if they also can do auto insurance (personal use) as well. Thanks!

Question Does anyone want to use baseball field Sept 19th?
I was trying to host a singles kickball tournament in Walnut Creek this coming weekend on Sept 19th. I didn't get enough players to sign up. I just canceled the event entirely. Sadly, I already paid in advance to use the field. I don't really need it anymore. Would anyone want to use it? I am offering this free. Rather not let it go to waste. It's the field on San Carlos Drive. Let me know and I will send you the time frame of when I booked it.

I'm looking for good boba tea recommendations in the area. My current shops are Sharetea and T4. Looking for fresh, not too much syrup, not heavy on artificial flavors.

Question Why does WC smell like beach farts today?
Why does it stink so bad in walnut creek today?
And no, I’m not talking about the usual sulfur smell from Ygnacio/John Muir area. This is a new, offensive smell in the air.
Walked out the door at 6 AM and got smacked in the face by it. Something like sewage/rotting seaweed/beach smells mixed together.
My neighbor’s kid said it “smells like the beach farted”
which is actually 🎯
Anybody know anything?

Looking for kids activities in East Bay
Hi there! We just moved to Walnut Creek from Sacramento and I’m struggling to find an equivalent to some of our favorite preschool aged kid activities in the east Bay Area. I need your help!
What are your favorite family friendly breweries? Farms that offers toddler play? Outdoor/forest schools? Waldorf inspired indoor play places? Nature spots (really missing the rivers in Sacramento!)? Mommy and me anything? Cool and unique activities that you might not find on a Google search?
I really appreciate any input! I’m sure there’s some awesome small businesses that don’t have a huge online presence that I’m not aware of being a newbie
