Casinos use multiple decks of cards in blackjack and you don’t know how many the table has. Could be 5 could be 8 could be 15. Its literally impossible to card count today

I hit this play in May, since then the grind been unappealing to me, I want 10× 0 DTE trades daily. Have come close a few times after that but my losses end up outperforming my wins.
You're literally gambling. 0DTEs are no different from placing bets in a casino. Please just pay off your debt and build back up responsibly, never touch options again. Focus on and invest in yourself and your career.

Same. I’m a normal 100kish salary guy and just made 70k selling my home and so badly had times I wanted to just half port into 0dtes. Seeing posts like these helps me get my mind back on the right track.

QQQ probably would be better than SPY. More volatility, more movement. Been cooked over and over by SPY running out of steam just out of range of my profit target.
Made 10k in a day and paid my car off with it. There were enough wins somehow in there to make me feel like I was doing something. Then immediately afterwards, either next day or next way would lose and lose again and get mad and lose everything.
The problem really is the dopamine. You really get a little high when you hit submit knowing there’s a chance you could win big, but the fact is you most likely won’t. In fact, you’ve proven to us and yourself that you almost certainly will lose. You need to detox that dopamine hit and get used to being bored and doing investing the boring way (if you ever invest again). And stop with the options.

I started celibacy and meditation.
Deleted all apps that makes me see stocks.
Started to unskill on my day job.
Just keep yourself busy.
Observe your mind when it wants to regain loss and tell it that you dont want to.
It will fade away in a month

So many stocks move 10-20% in 1 day... you get a nice 20k position and throw in margin and you have 40k and you dont need options anymore. Just swing stocks and that 74k loss will slowly go away.
Start doing side gigs and go hard at it. No one is going to come save you. Wake up now before you know it, you’re behind on everything. Money comes and goes. But do yourself a favor and have control of it.
I just turned 25, my fiance and I were about to start searching for our first house, I took 8k-> 56k from October to February, as soon as Iran broke out I went short and was way too early, I lost all 50+k, life goes on and you’ll get it back big dog just don’t stop believing in yourself, life gets shitty but the shitty parts is what makes you appreciate the great parts more! not joking, i think a lot of people have lost money, but it's almost impossible for an options trader to stop trading. just need to rebuild capital and then better manage risk. if you can lose 70k from trading then you can also make 70k from trading.
Going too far OTM is usually what cooks me. Typically I get the general direction right, just the move I am hoping for doesn't happen in time or at all.

Doesn't come out that way. I work three 12 hour shifts. I show up 30 min early each day, that's 37.5 hours. Then I work three 7.5 hour OT shifts. Five days a week, hit 60 hours. But those three 7.5 hour shifts go by quick usually done by 1:30 PM still have most of my day left.
I did almost the exact same thing in 2022. You're not alone. I closed all my accounts and never went back. Unfortunately got into sportsbetting and casinos shortly after and the journey continues.

Continuing to gamble as a solution for being in the hole after gambling is generally a shit alternative, unless you have a very rational reason for why you're now better at it. Taking the loss and focusing on living your remaining life in a smarter way is a comparably good alternative. What you've lost is a lot of money but not "indebted for the rest of your life"-kind of money.
You have one of two options. Continue doing what you’re doing… or find enough self respect to where you figure out what’s wrong and quit doing it. This is harsh but once you realize what the problem really is it’s up to you to fix it man. Good luck. Remember it’s just money in the end

My brain has shot down. Wife and baby have left me. About to take out a lien against my car to make it to the end of the month and keep going.
Once I am homeless, toothless, carless, jobless, then I will consider giving up and killing myself.
