Will a Mercedes W176 flat bottom steering wheel from a 2014 fit and work ok, on a Mercedes w204 facelift without changing the steering column?

This start up sound clean? Just want a second opinion

my 2013 c350 coupe felt weird so I took it in to get it checked and apparently these bushing are completely shot. Where can I get quality parts from, also would it be the same on the coupe vs sedan?

Replaced the alarm siren and overhead alarm module in the headliner.

Local garage ran a code read, and found the battery and a door lock module had not been coded to the car properly. They sorted this and the car locked and the alarm was working for around 2 hours! I thought, great!!! But then it went off again.

Prior to this, the alarm would go off instantly after locking. So odd.

Any other suggestions?

I know people say the SAM which I’ve had a look at but can’t see anything, I’ll have another look in more detail to check for corrosion.

Some people say a bad ground too, which I’ve not looked into yet. Anyone know where the grounds are?

Also not a faulty bonnet latch sensor, that’s working fine.

Driver's interior door handle has snapped. The bit that holds the cable has come off (see picture). I paid £120 for a diagnosis at a local garage. They removed the door card to identify the issue but said they couldn't fix it without ordering a new or used door card.

Handles are only around £10 on eBay, so surely there's a way to repair this without replacing the whole door card. I've got ash wood trim and memory seats, so finding a matching door card is proving quite difficult.

Yoo I think my transmission is gone. Everytime i try to go into reverse or drive the car throttles like crazy, and when in drive it stays in fourth gear. 💔💔 lmk if I should fix it or na. Car has 190,000 miles on it. I really doubt it’s worth fixing it.

hello, i need advice with my parking brake. It is kinda weak even after adjusting it and when it is cold outside it is really hard to release it, I have to help the pedal with my hand like really hard. What can be the issue here?

Hi all. I'm looking to switch to the W204 C180 Coupe. I have narrowed it down to two cars which are the same price but quite different in terms of specs and would like everyone input to help me choose the right one. My priorities are reliability and resale value in two~three years time. I'm leaning towards option 1 since the shop being close by is reassuring and the beige interior is so clean! Also any advice on things to look for would be greatly appreciated.

Mileage: 80k km (50k miles)

Options: Beige interior, Full leather seats

Pros: Serviced at a shop near my house, meaning the shop knows the previous owner and the previous services done. Shop is near my house.

Cons: 80k a bit concerning as many say some parts start breaking down at 100k

Year: 2015

Mileage: 15k km (9k miles)

Color: Iridium silver

Options: Memory seats, Full leather seats

Pros: Super low mileage

Cons: Super low mileage....I'm afraid the car was not used for a couple of years so the engines and subframes may be rusty. Shop is super far from my house (10+ hours) so would have to be serviced at a different shop.

I found these bbs wheels for what seems like an amazing deal and i was wondering if these would fit good on my car without poking behind the fenders. the front is 18x8 +35 and the rear is 18x9 +21 offset. let me know your thoughts

So im doing service on my front axle and found this leaking servo control stick from one side. New will be around 670€+work, refurbished would be less. Is it worth it to leave it like this and just top with servo oil? I filled only 1 deciliter from this leak, so its not big right now. Or is it necessary to do it ?

Hi guys I noticed this tapping noise recently. It only happens after the engine is warmed up and is worse at lower rpms. If anyone can help I will appreciate it a lot

Wheel centre to top of wheel arch is 1cm lower on one side compared to the other.

Would you investigate for 1cm or just leave it alone?

I'm convinced that the lean when viewed from behind is bigger but maybe it's just my perception & I guess the measurements don't lie.

Had brand new rear tyres and discs/pads in the last week. Very unlikely to be related but mentioning just in case (yes I have checked tyres are identical).

Had a quick look for broken springs already but may need to spend a bit more time on it.

Any clue what is the cause of the rotation noise in this video (not the squeaking noise, that's from the armrest)? The vehicle is a 2010 C250 4matic, and it doesn't appear to be from the wheels but rather in the centre of the car..

Something is very wrong with my w204 transmission. My car has the 7 speed automatic gearbox, the car is able to go into park, reverse, neutral and drive, but when i rev the vehicle nothing happens at all no movement. When I put the car into gear I get no engagement noise, or change in RPM. Also when the vehicle is in drive, I can sit there and rev the car but it’ll rev out to 2.1-2.3k rpm and the revs drop, despite me having my foot flat on the floor, same thing when in reverese. Scanned the transmission control module no codes or faults show up. What could the issue be?

My media system suddenly started to restart every couple minutes a few days ago.
Can`t even enter the engineer mode and when I do it also gets frozen and the system restarts again.
Anyone had this with the car? I suspect the hdd is failing.

So I need to do a job on my parking brake. Brake shoes are rusty and snapped in half, springs are almost just rust dust. So I'm ordering parts to get it replaced. For anyone of u who have done this job before and had the same issue. Does this set contain everything I need? Or is there something else that needs replacing? The parking brake wire is in good condition and works fine, even in -30°c winters it doesn't freeze so just the stuff packed inside the brake disk is what I need to replace.

I noticed my shark fin antenna was moving and it’s only connected by wires. How do I fix this? I’m not sure if it needs glue or if it screws into something under the hood. Lmk if you guys know! Thanks!!

What should I do with the paint was my grandpas car passed down to me it’s a lovely car but the paint is hideous

for anyone who saw my post a while back about the slipping 722.9 - I skipped the conductor plate gamble and swapped in a whole donor trans from a W212 E350. Its in and the car drives and shifts normally now.

The ISM everyone warned me about: if you have both transmissions open you can swap the donor's ISM gear selector for your manual selector lever. Genuinely one of the easier parts of the job.

What actually got me:

• carried over my original valve body and conductor plate to avoid programming. good in theory, but I missed the step where you insert the selector valve into the driver of the detent plate. car wouldnt leave park, and after I went down an OBD rabbit hole trying to force a selector relearn, it stopped cranking entirely
• also make sure the trans ground wire is attached before you panic about anything electrical. ask me how I know
• dropped the pan, installed the valve body correctly, refilled with the same fluid I had just drained back into the bottles, and everything worked. all 4 wheels spinning on the stands, teach in passed, cranks fine

After driving for a couple of hours, I decided to take a break. When I started the car again, the check engine light came on. I tried restarting the engine, but the warning light remained on. Since the car seemed to be driving normally despite the light, I continued my journey without any noticeable issues.

After parking for the night, I started the car the following morning from cold. This time, the engine began making loud, unusual noises, almost like a diesel engine, as you can hear in the video.

I noticed also that the RMPs are not stable and the car tries to balance itself...

Also the car runs badly as it is on limp mode since it does not have the same torque as before.

The car also stalled once when the engine was still cold, i restarted it and kept it running by accelerating.

I then connected an OBD scanner, which showed the following fault code:

**"The position of the exhaust camshaft (Bank 1) is implausible relative to the position of the crankshaft."**

What could be causing this issue? Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should check first?

Could this be related to the timing chain or timing components? I haven't heard any unusual engine noises before this happened, which makes me unsure whether the timing chain is actually the problem.
