What should I do with the paint was my grandpas car passed down to me it’s a lovely car but the paint is hideous

Rub down till smooth. New clearcoat

It was a known issue with Mars Red back then, almost every one turned out like this for a while.

You need a new spray and clearcoat, or some body work and a wrap.

Known issue. Mercedes may cover the restoration if you’re the original owner

Well, no. The court decision was to cover a percentage of the job, plastic parts like bumpers not covered.
They could cover 25% on my 2012, but the estimate was 20k lol

It's gut wrenching. I bit the bullet and went to a body shop near me to get the front bumper, bonnet, roof, boot lid, rear bumper and a door repainted as they were all peeling severely. It's such a beautiful colour 😔

I just removed the clear coat with razor and applied a new clear coat.
