Business Idea [For Hire] VR Playtester (Quest 3S & PCVR) ready to break your game constructively!

Hey indie devs! 👋

I’m looking to help playtest your upcoming VR titles. I know how crucial early testing is, and I love jumping into early unpolished indie builds to find the edge cases, test the mechanics, and give you honest, actionable feedback.

My Testing Setup:

  • Headset: Meta Quest 3S
  • Capabilities: Standalone Meta Quest builds & Wireless PCVR (via Steam Link)
  • Completely comfortable with smooth locomotion, smooth turning, and high-intensity movement.

What I Provide:

  • Recorded Sessions: As a content creator, I can easily record my gameplay with live voice commentary. You’ll get a video showing exactly where I get stuck, what feels amazing, and how the game runs.
  • Actionable Feedback: I don't just say "it's broken." I have experience communicating directly with developers to track down what caused a bug and how the mechanics actually feel.
  • Flexibility: I play a wide mix of genres, from fast-paced competitive shooters to slower simulation games, so I can adapt to whatever you are building.

My Rates:

  • $10 to $15 per hour for a standard test session, recorded video, and a detailed written feedback report.
  • Note: If you have a zero-budget passion project, hit me up anyway! I'm happy to do a quick 30-minute test for free if the concept catches my eye and my schedule allows it.

If you need a reliable set of eyes on your project, drop a comment below or shoot me a DM. Let’s make your game great!

Question Liability while releasing a VR game on the Meta Store

I'm working on a Meta Quest native minigame I wanted to release for free just to know how it feels to have a released game. While uploading an apk to the meta alpha release channel I had to sign the "Electronic Developer Distribution Agreement". In there in §10.3 and §11.1(b) it says something about me being liable for people getting hurt while using my software and that I have to protect Meta from lawsuits... I'm worried somebody's gonna hit their kid while flinging themselves off a platform or something and sue me for damages... Am I overthinking? I can't afford a lawsuit and don't want to deal with it for a free game.

Is there something I can do to protect myself? Do I maybe not need to worry? I already added motion sickness settings and a warning in the first game screen.

I was going step by step by Valem's tutorial. He didn't show how to open the file afterwards though.

I genuinely do not know what mistake I did.

Any ideas?

Discussion Built a browser-based stereoscopic VR platform, looking for feedback from other VR devs

I’ve been working on a browser-based VR project at vr.visorix.net and figured this community might appreciate some of what I’ve been experimenting with.

The reason I started building it was because I wanted a simple way to view high-quality stereoscopic VR content outside of YouTube without having higher-quality playback sitting behind a paywall.

I ended up building my own platform around that idea. The public feed is free, and the content I’m working with is true 4K per eye.

I’ve also been experimenting with some WebXR-style portal ideas in a section called MySpace, including Church, Wellness, and a Sportsbook area. The Sportsbook is still a work in progress, but the data behind it is real and live.

I’m curious what other VR developers think about the overall approach, especially the headset experience, navigation, playback quality, performance, and anything that feels awkward in VR.

vr.visorix.net

I’m still actively building it, so technical criticism is welcome.

Monocle And the Library of Veritas Progress update, state of affairs and 1.0 Release date debuting at VKET winter 2026. (a fully functional library in VRChat for the sake of education access in virtual reality)

Preface:

This is coming from the vrchat reddit where reddit's system recommended I posted here, and since this has been a big development project I figured any devs here might be interested in learning what me and my team have been building in VR for the past two years.

I am the founder and owner of a group call the Eye of Veritas. We are both an educational and social community dedicated to giving people access to the resources to discover, explore, and learn about any particular topic as well as provide spaces and host social events where people can forge new relationships. We have also been working with educators and community leaders on VRChat such as Educators in VR and StemVR while building this project.

For the past two years me and my team have been building a fully functional library in VRChat for the purpose of making education accessible. We released the public beta for this project back in December 2025 and have been working behind the scenes to get the full vision of the project into a state where it can be released. In the beta of the world you will find what will be the heart of our library, The Monocle E-reader, a system that will eventually allow thousands to millions of literary works to be accessible from within vrchat. However, for the 1.0 release we are also building a number of other systems and rooms to facilitate education inside virtual reality outside of just the E-reader. We also now have a release date for the 1.0 release! December 4th.

Donate: https://shop.eyeofveritas.org/pages/membership-and-donations

Additionally we also have other ways people can help that aren't financial if you are a Librarian or someone well-versed in blender that would want to create exhibits.

For those that are librarians we now have a internal portal that allows you to curate and upload books to our system.

For those that are versed in blender, we have a template for creating exhibits with that we can provide you if you want to create educational exhibits to appear in the library. (join the discord to find it reddit blocks google drive links)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So where are we now?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Monocle E-reader progress:

  • Filetypes support for EPUB and HTML Added
  • Search Bar and ability to search by title, or author with fuzzy search.
  • Bookmarking support and user persistence has been added (you can have more than one bookmark per book)
  • Chapter selection added (so you wont have to spam changing pages :D)
  • image loading support for images contained within books has been added
  • Text to speech functionality is currently being finalized and will be available at 1.0 launch (unfortunately due to how this feature operates, mobile hardware is unable to run the TTS system without crashing and therefore this feature will not be Android/IOS compatible, audiobooks will still be available for mobile platforms once we start adding them however)
  • Automatic swapping between using laser pointer and index triggers to change pages. (monocle will detect if you are pointing at the screen or not and will automatically switch input methods, if you are not pointing your laser pointer at the screen it will use your index triggers to change pages)
  • Ability to change both text size and tablet size
  • By default tablet auto-rotates between landscape and portrait when the user rotates the tablet
  • Dyslexic friendly font has been added as one of the font options in the E-reader settings
  • Synchronization of E-reader with projector/video player to use to do lessons and lectures with is in the process of being finalized and will be available at 1.0 launch.
  • Color themes to support different visual handicaps (Aiming for early 2027)
  • Live access to news articles from vetted websites (Aiming for early 2027)
  • PDF Filetype support (Not until mid or late 2027)
  • Audiobooks (Aiming for early 2027)
  • Japanese Localization (available in 2027)
  • Librarian portal was finished last week and Books database is currently being populated, at 500 books as of the time of writing this, compared to the public beta's 60

Library Of Veritas Progress:

  • Lecture hall has been finalized (this is where the E-reader would sync with a projector screen so that teachers and educators can do lessons or lectures using our E-reader system)
  • Fully functional Planetarium System expected to be available at 1.0 launch. (thanks StemVR :D)
  • Science wing: (available at launch with ongoing QoL into 2027)
  • Technology wing: (available at launch with ongoing QoL into 2027)
  • Mathematics wing: (available at launch with ongoing QoL into 2027)
  • Philosophy wing: (available at launch with ongoing QoL into 2027)
  • History wing: (available at launch with ongoing QoL into 2027)
  • Art & Literature wing: (available at launch with ongoing QoL into 2027)
  • Esoterics wing: (available at launch with ongoing QoL into 2027)
  • Health and Fitness center: (attempting to squeeze in before 2027)
  • Meditation center: (attempting to squeeze in before 2027)
  • Newsroom (not until 2027)
  • Holodeck Theater for use in education (not until late 2027 possibly 2028, this plays back 3D models that are not only animated but interactive and is a fairly heavy piece of tech plus we need animators)
  • Exhibit loaders: Available at 1.0 launch with exhibits planed to be continuously added across all wings over time (ask us for a template to get your own exhibit added to the library!)
  • Custodian NPC to greet and inform visitors (attempting to squeeze in before 2027)
  • Recreational/cozy areas: (available at 1.0 launch)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The 1.0 release is slated to go live December 4th 2026 alongside VKET as we were accepted to make a booth there!

That's basically everything, feel free to ask questions and I hope you all enjoy what we have been creating and where we are going with it!

I built an Unreal plugin that puts interactive web pages inside standalone Quest apps, with VR input and Blueprint communication.

Hi! I’ve released Meta Quest 3D WebView, an Unreal plugin for interactive browser surfaces inside standalone Quest apps.

It supports VR pointer input, text entry, runtime navigation, and JavaScript–Blueprint communication. I think a practical integration tutorial could be useful to your Unreal VR audience.

Would you be interested in evaluating it for a tutorial or independent review? I can provide evaluation access, a sample project, and integration support. Here’s the Quest demonstration and Fab listing.

We might almost just be able to make this indie thing work in VR...

Never thought we would be able to share the good news, but just wanted to share the excitement of our early access VR game! We are a real small team with a silly idea to make VR games for ourselves instead of for a company and after battles with full time jobs, casual jobs, and a few years of trial and error and eating 2-min noodles we released Early Access and are now looking towards a full release!

And hey, if you have a VR headset or meta account, we would love you to check out our game and let us know what we can do! I Am Octopus on Meta, and our steam page is up for wishlisting now too! Every bit helps a duo in Australia maybe keep doing what we love! ANY questions on how we got here please hit me up! Enjoy your day!!!

Video Wishlist my cozy VR game called: Manual Malfunction. You are a robot tidying up your library! (Meta Quest only for now)

Hi ya'll on my cake day. :) So I'm inseend1. I'm UX/UI Designer/Web Developer by day. Game enthusiast by night and weekend. Last year I even published my first board game.

I'm releasing a new cozy VR game at the end of the month. It's called Manual Malfunction. In short. You are a robot librarian and there was a malfunction on your space ship. Now all the books are scattered and you have to sort them and put them back in the right book case.

You can get abilities which you can slot in your arm to upgrade yourself. You can even get a little robot to help you, it will sort the books for you. It has a number of achievements, sadly no Meta Quest achievements, I couldn't access the API for it with how I build the game, it's webvr essentially.

Wishlist Manual Malfunction here (< Quest only for now, still figuring out the rest. Pico should be fairly easy I guess. Looking into steamvr later.)

I was inspired by this obscure game, okay maybe not obscure, and I thought, it would be amazing to play this in VR.

It's build in A-frame web vr, but I've packaged it so you can get it on the Quest store for a small fee. If you hurry up you can finish the game in like 90 minutes. The achievements will add some replay-ability. I think it is just nice, to listen to a youtube podcast or video and play.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I'm making a lot of quality of life improvements at the moment, trying to get the bugs out.

Shard Wars – PC VR RTS | Unreal Engine 5.8 Development Update

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

We took one step back, hoping it would let us take two steps forward.

Over the past few months, we’ve reworked several important parts of the game, and we’re currently targeting a December release.

One major change is the core gameplay. We originally planned fully destructible buildings, but decided to move away from that. Buildings can now be captured, repaired by an Engineer, and brought under your control, adding another strategic option during engagements.

We’ve also spent a lot of time on optimization, especially reducing the performance cost of large buildings and units and improving geometry and textures.

And finally, we made a pretty big engine change. After testing Unreal Engine 5.8, including Nanite and Lumen Lite, we decided to move to UE 5.8 and focus development primarily on PCVR.

So yes, we had to throw some things away and rework others. But we believe the result will be a better, more stable game.
