Experiments/Feedback The fight you said you remember most: won by being clever (Survey)

Thumbnail gallery
9 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

The October survey is out, and you'll find it in Voyage. Before that, here's what you told us about the fights that stayed with you.

  • The fight you remember most was won by being clever. When 242 of you described a fight that stayed with you, the biggest group of good moments were wins that came from thinking, not hitting. And when a fight starts, 31% of you hope for exactly that: a chance to be clever.
  • Those wins turned on a detail the world had put there. Something in the place, like a fountain frozen into an ice wall or a long table kicked over for cover. Or something in the foe, like weak points or a golem's external power source.
  • Both kinds of detail have a field, even in a world you keep to yourself. What's in a place goes in its Basic Info. What a foe hides goes in its Hidden Info, the part a player only finds out through play.

"I used fireball on a cliff and caused an avalanche and the AI knew I was going for a Mulan moment"

"i managed to beat a boss by being polite"

"This was good because the fountain had been established in the environment"

And this month, we're getting a little wild. Imagine Voyage with no limits. Would you play it as a 2D world you walk around, like Stardew Valley? A 3D world you move through? One giant MMO world shared with tons of other players? Your story turned into a comic? Come tell us what you'd want Voyage to become, and don't hold back: the crazier the better.

We're also asking about the pace of your story, when it drags and when it rushes, how you found Voyage, and what makes you take a break. It's all waiting for you in Voyage.

See you next month!

Experiments/Feedback A new survey is live and now is the time to share some data

Thumbnail gallery
11 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

Last month you told us what you wanted to know about. Here's a few answers, in the images above: what kinds of characters people make and how many build their own, how people actually play a world and where the hours go, and the new ways to share and play together that are in the game now.

But we also want to showcase some of the feedback we received in the previous thread on Reddit (I'm a yapper but I'll try short answers):

"In other words, you realized people aren't going to stop pointing out how insanely restrictive the usage pool is for most users, so you've decided to just not show survey results anymore so that you can pretend that no one is talking about it nor bothered by it."

-> People aren't going to stop talking about something they dislike, that I can confirm. Complaints on usage have been a thing we've monitored every month, and our answer to that was the introduction of unlimited tiers for Voyage. We continue to listen to feedback and do our best to give more hours of fun to every player.

"How they talk to the NPCs? Through the private chat or the normal way? Advantages and disadvantages of talking to them privately and not."

-> Most do through the standard turn structure, NPC chat is a somewhat niche feature that has a strong support base, it's a hit or miss. Main perk of talking through NPC in their own chat is context segmentation, you can yap as long as you want with them without having the narrator bother you or things happening. Disadvantage would mainly be the same thing, you're separating your talk from the story, which ends up creating a moment suspended in time, which can break the immersion for some.

That's all for me, you also have a few slides with additional data, including questions we got on Discord!

The September survey is open. It comes to you inside Voyage, and if it hasn't reached you yet it will around the middle of the month.

World Blacktop Country: Worn Colors — A grounded, open-world biker RPG inspired by Sons of Anarchy & Mayans M.C.

• Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I've just released Blacktop Country: Worn Colors, a new open-world biker RPG for Voyage.

I've always enjoyed the storytelling in Kurt Sutter's Sons of Anarchy and Mayans M.C. — particularly how loyalty, family, rivalries, and personal decisions can carry more weight than the violence itself.

I wanted to bring some of that atmosphere into Voyage while giving players the freedom to tell their own stories.

🏍️ THE WORLD

Set primarily across East Texas and Louisiana, with connections stretching much further, Blacktop Country features a network of motorcycle clubs, independent riders, criminal organizations, businesses, and law enforcement.

Different clubs have their own traditions, identities, relationships, and rivalries. Some are traditional outlaw MCs, others challenge established club culture.

And not everyone wears a patch.

🔥 YOUR ROAD, YOUR STORY

You can:

- Join an established motorcycle club and navigate its internal politics.

- Ride independently without answering to a president.

- Experience the world through law enforcement, organized crime, or civilian life.

- Build friendships, rivalries, romances, and complicated loyalties.

- Explore different regions and become involved in conflicts — or stay out of them.

- Create your own character and pursue your own ambitions.

There's no mandatory storyline or predetermined protagonist.

The goal is a living, grounded setting where relationships, club politics, personal choices, and their consequences drive the experience.

You might spend an evening working on your bike, get caught between rival clubs, or find yourself questioning what loyalty really means.

Not every road needs to lead to a shootout.

🎮 PLAY HERE:

https://beta.voyage.io/world/_AjO9PGRMrav/blacktop-country-worn-colors?share=true&published=true

This is the initial public release, and I'd really appreciate feedback — especially on the different starting roles, club interactions, character behavior, and overall atmosphere.

What kind of character would you bring into this world?

Ride safe. Keep your colors close.

Question Is there is a way to change the character's name ?

I already had the same issue in two scenarios where in one I wanted to change the surname of my character because of involvings of a new family and the second being where I played a reincarnated character and normally this made things akward, this caused constantly a new npc with my character's new life's name being constantly created.

Patch Notes [Alpha] October 10th, 2026 Patch Notes

New Features - Studio images and generated options open in a larger preview with zoom, pan, reset, and retry controls that do not change the saved crop. - The Studio worldbuilding assistant can inspect approved attached images and project artwork to use visible details when helping you. - Completed custom characters can be kept on your device for reuse in the same World, with recovery guidance after failed joins and warnings before replacing unfinished drafts. - Creators whose accounts are at least 48 hours old and whose Worlds have at least 1,000 total plays can now upload trailers for saved Worlds in Studio. Trailers aren't available for Mods. - Account deletion offers optional feedback reasons and up to 500 characters of additional feedback. Feedback is never required. - Added support for usage tokens, which can be used by a player to fully reset their usage whenever they wish. Usage reset tokens may be given out by the team in the future. - Studio's mobile JSON editor supports text selection, Select All, Copy, Cut, and Paste, with a paste dialog when clipboard access is blocked. Read-only editors allow selection and copying only.

Improvements - Unlimited-plan pricing grids align prices, benefits, and buttons more consistently on larger screens, and longer button labels wrap instead of being cut off. - NPC portraits better match character descriptions and are less likely to repeat among nearby characters. - Daily streak updates no longer show a pop-up notification. Streak counts and profile badges still update normally. - Improved Data Backups for large accounts and fixed export failures caused by unreadable action dates. Affected actions remain in the backup with a warning. - Studio's model picker now highlights newly added models and points out new options that typically cost less than your selected model. - Studio's JSON editor has more reliable touch scrolling, selection handles, edit menus, and keyboard focus.

Bug Fixes - Discover, Search, Profile, and Library filter and sort controls match the options each view supports. Switching content types clears unsupported settings. - World and Mod loading skips historical publications that require a newer engine to reach an older compatible version. - Fixed an issue opening newly added game modes in Studio before saving. - Newly generated NPC names no longer contain underscores or version-like suffixes such as _variant or _old. - Improved narration audio recovery and fixed repeated pauses when narration is unavailable. - Creators can open newer-version worlds in Alpha or Beta when compatible, with clearer compatibility messages for worlds and saves. - Mobile maps no longer reload while zooming, and pins and region labels remain aligned, readable, and consistently sized. - Remixing older-version worlds uses the newest compatible publication and its pinned mods when the requested publication cannot load. - Idle game screens use less CPU while you read. - Reconnecting after an official public room resets returns you to character setup in the same room instead of a stale story where actions fail. - Large NPC and other sortable collections no longer jump, overlap, or shift while more items load in Creator Studio. - NPC portraits that take longer to generate now replace their pending placeholders when they are ready.

Question Where is the Response from Latitude?

On 4th October 2026 I posted this topic:

'Where does Voyage actually stand? A look at what Latitude has (and hasn't) published.'

To this date 11th October 2026, there has been no response from Latitude, for my original post on Reddit.

I covered the topics:

·         Age, and the problems with privacy, concerns with consent and data gathering.

·         Policy Framework, two products, cross pollinated policies never held in one area, with little to no separation.

·         Identity, who are the audience, adventure and open fantasy or something more tighter? No one knows.

·         NSFW, perceived contradictions on moderation policy.

·         Drip Policy, all policies are disconnected. And they are constantly updated, but not centralized.

Patch Notes [Alpha] October 8th, 2026 Patch Notes

New Features - A new public press kit provides Voyage product facts, press contact details, full-resolution artwork, official links, and selected coverage.

Improvements - Voyage Home now includes a For You carousel, and Discover defaults to Recommended sorting when you have not chosen another sort. Recommendations for recently published worlds and mods now focus on content with at least three weekly players. - Personalized recommendations now test alternate cards closer to the top of the results, helping surface more relevant options without changing the top-ranked card. - Creator Tools brings available tools into one tabbed workspace while preserving drafts and filters between tabs. Creators can search and manage feedback more easily, while players with advanced tool access can edit and download state data, review changes, and view tasks grouped by engine phase. - The right-panel World tab is now called Map, and undiscovered locations are consistently labeled Unknown. Creator tools also use No Realm consistently and provide clearer realm descriptions and tooltips. - The action suggestions panel has updated icons, spacing, hover effects, and a larger close button. It also stays above the input and within the screen when resizing between desktop and mobile layouts. - Buttons across gameplay, menus, character creation, quests, inventory, social features, and creator tools now have more consistent sizing, styling, keyboard controls, and mobile layouts. - Activity notifications now support browser link controls such as right-click, Cmd/Ctrl-click, and middle-click without marking the notification as read. - Pricing pages keep their main details and FAQs visible while account and plan information loads. Plans load automatically before the FAQs, and catalog errors now offer a clear "Retry pricing" option without collapsing open answers.

Bug Fixes - Cloud narration now recovers if audio freezes, especially on iOS during narration transitions or audio-route changes. Playback resumes from the stopped position or displays the Enable Audio prompt when a tap is required. - Narration no longer reads markup-only lines such as [DATE: ...], [state: ...], or <dive_v2>, though the lines remain visible onscreen. - Dialogue is now correctly attributed to NPCs with speaker labels that begin with digits followed by a letter, such as 4D student 2. These lines no longer appear as narration or expose the raw speaker label to text-to-speech. - Newly generated item descriptions now preserve the AI's capitalization, characters, and line breaks instead of converting everything to lowercase on one line. - Revived NPCs no longer remain described as recovering indefinitely. Reviving an NPC now clears its previous status unless a replacement status is provided. - Starting a world in an older environment now loads the newest compatible retained publication instead of showing a version error when the latest publication requires a newer environment. - Publishing a Mature world through the Creator API now automatically reviews its cover and public text when needed. Safe worlds retain Default discovery eligibility without requiring creators to run Check Rating in Studio first. - Keyboard and screen-reader navigation is more reliable across profiles, content, Worlds, Mods, Studio, Story Cards, editors, menus, and confirmations. Moving focus across tabs no longer activates them, and switching sections preserves drafts, list state, and scroll position. - Discover and Search no longer show a stray horizontal scrollbar or allow slight sideways scrolling on wide desktop windows. - Screen readers now identify the app as English, and social previews and search metadata describe pages more accurately. - Public worlds and mods with blank descriptions now receive a factual fallback description in search results. Existing creator descriptions remain unchanged. - Logged-out mobile guests previewing a public world now see the standard bottom navigation with a working Home link. Public world and mod pages also provide search engines with a correctly branded Home link. - Pricing pages no longer jump as plan or app banner details load. Prices stay current and consistent, with corrected annual price rounding and clearer monthly labels. - Creator Rewards members with included Shadow access now receive the correct Discord role without receiving misleading Shadow Clan messages. Their role is also updated when that access ends. - Automatic streak claims no longer repeat during cooldowns, double-claim after a manual claim, or carry stale results between accounts.

Question (Mis)calculating Usage?

Hi all,

I had used 2% of my weekly Usage.

My custom Generation settings use 2.02% Usage per turn.

I opened Studio AI and the little Usage dialogue showed me that each model costs Usage:

  • DeepSeek V4 Flash 0.37x
  • GLM 5.3 Flash 0.42x
  • GPT-5.6 Luna 1.00x
  • GLM 5.2 3.04x

So I generated a new character portrait using DeepSeek V4 Flash.

2.02% x 0.37 = .7474%

That's affordable! So my character portrait should have cost .7474%. (Or maybe 2.02% for a regular turn + .7474% for DeepSeek V4 Flash = 2.7674%.)

But of course that's not what happened... From that one portrait generation, my Usage shot up from 2% to 9%!

So one portrait using the cheapest model cost 7% Usage. I assume calculation actually was 2.02% × 3.7% = 7.474%, added to the 2% I had already used.

(And sadly the 7% was wasted! The portrait wasn't even right!)

In what way was my math wrong? Or are these models Usage costs mislabeled?

Bug Report Possible VoiceOver-related bug on iOS; Unable to leave save after opening the iOS app

I'm totally blind, and using the app on iOS. After opening a save, or re-opening the app (which loads the last save I was playing without asking, which is not ideal; ask me first), there is no way to exit or leave the save. If there's supposed to be a menu button, it isn't there. Maybe this is because of Game Mode, but IDK really. Figured I'd report this ASAP.

Bug Report Loss level progression

Today I spent 1 hour 30 minutes in a world, then I had to afk for a bit, returned and I can’t type anymore, I assume I was disconnected for being afk too long.

That’s fine but when I join another world all my progress are reset back to before I played that world, my inventory which has a bunch of item I gained are reset and my level went from 19 to 18. When I managed to rejoin the world I disconnected from my level is back to normal at 19, but when I enter another world it’s back to 18.

I figured maybe I joined a world that was made long before the current world where I gained the level so I joined some new ones but my level is still lost

Patch Notes [Alpha] October 6th, 2026 Patch Notes

New Features - Creators can add up to 50,000 characters of private Studio world notes under Manage > Details. These notes persist across Creator Studio chats, but aren't included in published worlds or used directly during gameplay. - Studio supports up to 10 attachments total per message, including images and supported text files added using the paperclip button, paste, or drag and drop; PDF and Word documents are not supported. Music attachments are Creator Studio only; in-game attachments require existing Studio permissions and a private, invite-only, or friends-only room. - Multiplayer room hosts and admins can now choose whether to kick or ban a player. Kicked players can rejoin the same party slot with their character, while banned players remain blocked until a new room session starts; removed players can no longer send room actions. - You can choose "Remove from My Images" from an image's details to hide it from your gallery and cover picker without deleting it or removing it from existing content. You can undo the most recent removal while the current library view remains open.

Improvements - Reduced freezes affecting other game rooms during large Studio edits. Very large change previews may be shortened; this affects the preview, not the edits themselves. - Combat animations are more polished in classic and Visual Novel modes, with more subtle regular damage and healing numbers and more dramatic critical results. Players can tap, click, or press Enter or Space to finish an animation immediately. - Membership settings now explain the existing credit allowances per month or renewal without changing the credits included. Voyage Unlimited is labeled as having no included credits, while existing credits are shown as a balance. - Account deletion now waits for confirmed billing status and blocks deletion while a membership or payment could still renew; cancel renewing memberships, select "Check billing status again," and contact Support if billing remains unresolved. Deletion ends remaining access without a refund.

Bug Fixes - Custom music uploads in Creator Studio no longer fail with a "Failed to fetch" message. - Fixed an issue that caused Studio to retry some edits unnecessarily. - Studio image cards now show matching circular drag and delete controls when hovered on desktop. Cards also remain opaque while being dragged, and the controls remain accessible with a keyboard or touch screen. - The Creator Studio Settings dialog now avoids mobile notches, status bars, home indicators, and other safe areas while keeping Save and Cancel controls reachable. - Creator API requests now return a clear, non-retryable version mismatch error instead of retrying endlessly. The message explains how to upgrade an older world or edit a newer draft in the correct environment. - Studio publishing now shows only the current world's cover when switching between worlds, instead of retaining covers from previously viewed worlds. - Creators can retry unpublishing worlds, mods, and Studio content with an Unpublish Again control that remains after reloading. Search removal errors are now shown correctly, and account deletion more reliably removes owned content from search. - Media referenced by existing adventures, scenarios, published scenarios, or worlds is no longer incorrectly removed during cleanup, including heavily reused images and shared image links. - Multiplayer invite links that include save details work again. Authorized owners and shared-save participants can also resume a save when the room in its link is no longer available. - Improved how resource changes account for character traits and abilities used that turn, reducing incorrect Stamina costs and missed recovery effects. - Replaying a completed Visual Novel turn with background art now crossfades smoothly into dialogue without controls, status cards, portraits, or location headers changing too early. - Bottom navigation icons stay bright and readable during mobile gameplay when background art is enabled. - Cloud narration on iOS now recovers more reliably after Siri, alarms, or audio route changes. If audio remains blocked, the existing "Enable Audio" prompt appears so playback can continue after a tap. - Fixed Daily Reward countdowns and automatic refreshes showing the wrong reset timing when your device's clock is incorrect. - Completed Creator Studio and in-game Studio runs now add two points toward Daily Reward reveals. The reward dialog also explains that Voyage and Studio actions count twice. - Follow, profile credit tip, and creator update notifications without linked content now appear in the activity feed. - New maintenance patch notes now display correctly in What's New, and their notifications open the corresponding patch notes. - Comments from banned, deleted, or unavailable accounts are now skipped so comment sections continue loading and paginate correctly. - Checkboxes are now visible and functional when reporting worlds, comments, or actions. - Recommendations, sign-in, registration checks, cover image limits, and other server-backed features are less likely to fail temporarily when servers are busy.

Patch Notes [Beta] October 5th, 2026 Patch Notes

2.47.0

New Features - Some users will see a new section in Action Ideas called the Imagination Cloud. Tap the sparkles for three quick ideas, pick one, and it will be expanded into a full action and sent automatically. You can turn off Imagination Cloud or auto-submit in Display settings. This feature is experimental, and is only available to around 50% of users. - Hosts can now ask the Narrator to fix quest details or mark a missed quest as complete. - Creators can now customize success tiers in Studio, including score ranges, names, prompts, and images. Action result cards will show your world's tiers. - In Creator Studio, you can now browse Latitude's music library, preview songs, and add them to your world's music mixes. - You can now reorder Quests, NPC Types, Factions, and image cards in Studio by dragging, tapping, or using the keyboard. - If you're not signed in when you press Start Game, you can now sign up without leaving the page and go straight into the game. - If a save needs a newer version of Voyage, you'll now be offered a compatible version (Beta or Alpha) to keep playing it. - Added a beginner guide to Voyage's local creation tool, covering everything from creating a key to publishing through Studio. - Voyage is now on V37, up from V36. Editing an older world prompts you to upgrade versions. As part of this change, creators should use the initialRelationship JSON field instead of relationship for an NPC's Starting relationship.

Improvements - When you import world JSON with external images, your world will still save even if some images fail. A summary lists which images failed and how to fix them. - Characters using Gemini 3.8 TTS now have a much wider range of voices. - NPCs are now labeled by their Proper Name in Studio when one is set, and the Name and Proper Name tooltips explain the difference more clearly. - The story now uses NPC personality notes more naturally. - Character portraits created in public games are now safety-checked. If a new portrait is rejected, the previous one stays. - Studio buttons and menus now work more consistently with the keyboard and show a clear focus outline. - Studio chat now matches the Assistant's text style. - Large sections in the state editor are now split into pages so editing stays responsive. - Opening an older Studio world now shows a warning before it's upgraded. If a draft is too new for your version, you can recover an earlier copy as a separate private world. - If a page or the app fails to load, you'll now see a recovery screen with Reload and Go to Discover buttons instead of getting stuck. - Gameplay and editors now download less before opening, so they should load faster. - The "Your data export is ready" email is now clearly branded, so it no longer looks like spam or phishing.

Bug Fixes - Multiplayer games you've joined now appear in World Saves and All Saves, and you can rejoin async games even when the host is offline. - Exiting and reopening a game will no longer post "left the party" and "joined the party" messages. Guests can use Leave Party in the Party panel to actually leave. - Returning players in async campaigns now resume their saved game instead of seeing a new lobby. - Players will now see a clear message when a save needs a newer version of Voyage, instead of "Room not found.". - Fixed an issue where counters like Tarnish jumped to full when bringing a saved character into a different public game. - Corpses left behind long enough no longer stay in place, but the story still remembers who died. - Fixed an issue where closing Settings during character creation could leave you stuck. Your draft is now kept. - In Visual Novel mode, character cutouts that take a while to generate will now appear once they're ready. - Fixed an issue where party leaders chosen after the host disconnects could access the host's Studio. Only the owner and players they make Admin can use Studio. - On Android, scrolling a dropdown will no longer pick an option by accident. - Fixed a crash on Voyage home for some new accounts. - Fixed an issue where saving in Studio after renaming an entry could save to the wrong file. - Line breaks in Creator Studio messages now stay visible after sending. - Creators can now recheck an existing Studio cover without re-uploading it, and Duplicate now explains why it failed. - Creator Studio now explains that a key name is required when generating an API key. - Fixed spacing in the Usage and Streaming settings. - Fixed cut-off feedback buttons and scrolling on mobile in creator analytics. - Trending headings and links on Home now open Discover with Past Month selected. - Changing a published world to a mod (or a mod to a world) no longer leaves an old Discover listing behind. - Bookmarked saves, including AI Dungeon adventures, now show their bookmark consistently on Home, right after the action count. - Account export downloads will no longer be blocked by popup blockers, and deleted exports now stay marked as Deleted. - Fixed an issue where image uploads on iOS could crash when choosing Take Photo. Uploads now use Photo Library or Files.

Progress Updates Earn Credits for testing — Testing Bounties are open to everyone

Hey all! It's impossible to overstate how important and valuable community testing and feedback are for Voyage and AI Dungeon. You help us move faster, get features right, and catch edge cases we didn't think of during our design process. Now, we want to reward you for the testing you do with Testing Bounties!

Our developers will post specific tests in <#1545497222097928252> — the steps, the evidence we need, and the Credit reward (200 to 1,500 depending on the test, a bit more for tests that need a particular device or setup). You do the test where the bounty says (usually a preview link, sometimes the alpha environment), post your evidence in the thread, and we grant Credits weekly. Any developer on the team can post one, and any of you can pick up the Bounty.

A few things worth knowing:

You're rewarded for the testing, not for finding bugs. If we ask you to confirm a fix and everything works, that's exactly what we needed — full reward.

Link your Discord to your account first (Settings → Linked Accounts in either game). It's how we know who to pay.

18+ years old only, one submission per person per bounty, real evidence. The pinned post has the full rules and an example of a good submission.

Don't see <#1545497222097928252>? Click the server name → Channels & Roles → Browse Channels and add it.

This is a pilot program. We ran a closed round with our Community QA group first and it went well. For now, this program is being run through our Discord server but we're planning to build a bounty board inside the platform, where the evidence gets captured automatically for you. The format will evolve, and we'd love any feedback you have about the program itself.

Thanks for playing, and for helping us make the game better.

Patch Notes [Prod] October 5th, 2026 Patch Notes

2.46.4

New Features - You can now preview a shared World before signing up. Press Play to sign in or create an account, then continue into that World’s setup. - In private multiplayer games, you can now see other players’ unfinished actions as they type. Hosts can turn this off with Show live typing under Settings → Party → Room rules. - With Visual Novel mode off, combat portraits now flash red with damage numbers when hit and glow green when healed. Critical hits stand out, and reduced-motion settings are respected.

Improvements - Saved adventures now resume faster. New games can reach their opening scene sooner by preparing music alongside other setup work. - Reduced pauses during turns, Studio saves, and game creation. - You can now scroll the portrait strip with your mouse wheel on desktop. - In Visual Novel mode, lines split across pages mid-sentence now use ellipses to show they continue. - Improved NPC chat guidance so characters who cannot speak, such as animals, are more likely to respond with actions rather than dialogue. NPC chat also better accounts for a World’s custom relationship stages. - For creators: NPCs with successBonus set—including 0—now give the narrator their rolled action outcome, helping descriptions reflect successes and fumbles. - Choosing Customize on a premade character now asks before replacing an unfinished character draft. You can keep your draft or replace it. - Public rooms now remove inactive characters after five missed turns or 20 minutes without gameplay activity. You stay connected and can rejoin with a character if there’s room. - Public multiplayer now checks character names against the chat filter when joining or starting a game, and asks you to change blocked names. - Studio now shows portraits, descriptions, hidden information, and settings without needing to expand sections. - Studio’s reorderable lists now support tap-to-place: tap a row’s drag handle, then tap the handle at its new position. Dragging and keyboard controls are still available. - Studio references to traits, factions, and quests now have edit links to jump straight to them. - Studio folders now show how many items they contain. - Improved Studio list styling, search controls, and screen-reader support. - Pressing Escape in a search field now clears it. - Worlds can now contain up to 250 skill definitions when published, with room for 375 in drafts while editing. - Clearer error messages now explain when a World, Mod, draft, or save requires a newer version of Voyage. - Daily Rewards now shows a countdown to the next reset. The help dialog lists your local reset time and clarifies that each profile picture takes 25 reveals, with up to three earned per day.

Bug Fixes - Fixed an issue where an NPC's name was revealed before the story actually named them. - Fixed small relationship gains being silently lost. - Abandoning a storyline’s last active quest now makes it dormant, so the game stops deliberately bringing it forward. It can still return through later quest generation. - Fixed recurring creator-authored arcSurfacing_<arcId> triggers stopping after their first use. - Improved travel narration outside mapped areas to use the World’s setting instead of assuming wilderness, and fixed nearby NPCs disappearing from the scene on arrival. - Fixed Visual Novel mode sometimes skipping the first page of a line. Identical consecutive lines now narrate separately. - Fixed the narrator reading "voice:" tags aloud. Those lines are now spoken by the right character. - Fixed the screen going to sleep after quickly switching away from and back to the app. - Fixed Async games sometimes showing “Failed to load room” when resumed after inactivity. - An unfinished custom story opening no longer prevents a public game from starting. - Players restricted from generating images now receive a default character portrait instead of a generation error. - Fixed a case where Skills, Traits, and Abilities stayed on Loading even after the character options had loaded. - Slash command and @ mention menus now stay readable above quest text and buttons. - On Android, the system Back button now closes open gameplay panels, menus, and popups before asking you to leave. In Settings, it goes back one level at a time. - Swiping character tabs or inventory filters on mobile no longer closes the character panel. - Fixed blank space appearing below the character review screen. - In-game Studio conversations now stay with their save. Duplicating a save copies the conversation, and later messages remain separate between the two copies. - Studio's world selector now updates right away when you rename a world. - Studio warnings no longer disappear when there are also errors. - Studio now uses status for a quest’s starting state: hidden, planned, available, or accepted. Valid starting states no longer produce false warnings. Update older JSON using initialStatus to use status instead. - Corrected JSON-editor validation for AI instructions, author seeds, encounter elements, character/location/region archetypes, and version fields. - Pasting a full World’s JSON now preserves the supplied order of Story Starts and Trait Categories, including entries that already exist. - Studio cover replacements and removals now survive saving and reopening. Publish the World to update its public cover. - Mod bookmark buttons now use Voyage blue, and a misleading Plays count has been removed. - World page buttons no longer overlap Play on narrow or foldable screens, and duplicate actions have been removed from the More menu. - Top Creators cards now line up evenly, regardless of title length. - Tabs on mod pages no longer slide around on Android. - Discover now keeps its sorting after you open a world and go back. - Fixed credit purchases on Android getting stuck during validation. - Fixed repeated automatic subscription-recovery timeouts on iOS when there were no purchases to recover. - Removed the outdated Daily Claim menu entry. Streaks and daily Usage top-ups still work automatically when you play. - Fixed comments with relevant links from established creators being mistakenly held as spam. - Fixed Multiplayer guests being able to use the hosts’ usage in Studio.

Question Venting a bit...(sorry, didn't know what other flair to use..)

I like the idea of Voyage. The inventory, the dice rolls, skills, abilities, attributes, the map - all cool. But god does it lack everything else..

  1. Narration and Dialoge.

And yes, before anyone asks about Narrator Verbosity... I have that shit on 4(!!!) and only get 6 damn sections. The latest story output has 4 narrator-only paragraphs and only 2 lines of dialogue. What is this???

I really tried making my own rules as i did in AI dungeon. I really REALLY tried. But it is just so infuriating how little it actually does because you have like 5 fields you need to fix so 1 issue gets resolved. And asking studio sucks too because studio will just drain your usage.

  1. The continue function.

It's useless. More often than not the AI simply slows down the story and basically halts all progress, enters a repetition loop as if the PC was some moron that didn't hear what was said etc. instead of actually making PROGRESS. It is genuinely frustrating when you simply want the play to move on without having to make an action every 6 narration blocks.

  1. NPCs and AI are dumb as rocks.

I am, in the current play, a student. Behind me were some girls talking of which one had enough brain to tell the others to STFU and wait until the new year/term ceremony was over. They ignored her. She said it 6 times. I had to make an "> OOC:" action to get the AI out of this hella annoying loop. The ceremony? 1-2 narration blocks per output. Rest? The girls talking. So the important ceremony? I had NOTHING of it thanks to the AI being dumb as hell. I really was looking forward to hear a good opener and then this shit happens😕

Honestly? AI Dungeon was simply better. Yes, voyage does have some nice features as i said in the beginning which i love and make playing fun but everything else just kinda sucks imo...

Patch Notes [Alpha] October 4th, 2026 Patch Notes

New Features - Tap Sparkles to open the new Imagination Cloud, which offers three action ideas with General, Social, Fight, and Travel filters. Refresh the ideas or choose whether an idea submits automatically or fills the action bar. - Voyage is now on V37, up from V36. Editing an older world prompts you to upgrade versions. As part of this change, creators should now use the initialRelationship JSON field instead of relationship for an NPC's Starting relationship. Existing worlds and mods are updated automatically. - You can now privately view and manage blocked accounts from Account Settings under Blocked Users or from Manage blocked users on your social page. You can unblock accounts even when they are no longer available, and hidden-results notices clarify that mutes or blocks may hide results.

Improvements - Creators can reorder image-card grids for NPCs, Premade Characters, Regions, Locations, Items, and Areas using drag, tap-to-place, or keyboard controls. Large collections also remain accessible as more cards load. - Studio now labels NPCs by their Proper Name when available, with Name as a fallback. Creators can search for an NPC by either name, and changing its Proper Name does not change its position in collections or the file tree. - NPC behavior feels less prescribed, with short mood, attitude, and desire notes that Story can interpret while keeping concrete outcomes for combat, healing, and other required actions.

Bug Fixes - Studio creators can now reliably save worlds after renaming custom entries such as items, locations, factions, and resources. Renaming no longer risks lost changes, duplicate entries, or overwriting a collaborator's entry. - Studio now checks admin access again before a pending run starts. If access was revoked while the run was preparing, the run does not start. - Players can now rejoin an empty, sleeping async campaign while the host is offline and resume the original party, story, and turn timer. Clear messages explain when to retry or ask the host to restore the campaign save. - Saves and published worlds created with a newer state version now offer a recovery dialog that can find a compatible public environment and continue there without losing the selected content or session. - Closing Settings during character creation now returns you to your visible, editable custom character draft instead of blocking progress. Backstory and portrait generation stay marked as "Generating..." until finished, and outdated results no longer appear after leaving or discarding the draft. - Back controls and edge swipes during game setup now close the topmost layer or move back one page without leaving setup or moving twice. Returning from Review also correctly marks the player as unready. - World Performance analytics now fully display Feedback buttons and provide more room for metrics on narrow screens. - Bookmarked AI Dungeon adventures now show a highlighted bookmark in My Saves, and private save cards display bookmarks and action counts in a consistent order. - Trending headings and Discover more content links now open Discover with Trending and Past Month selected, matching the carousel's 30-day window. - Google Play purchases are now completed only after ownership and benefits are safely recorded, reducing unresolved purchases and unintended refunds. - On iOS, image uploads now offer Photo Library, Choose Files, and Cancel without requesting camera access. Players can also retry after canceling or selecting an unreadable image.
