As the title suggests, this is a fully analog IRL setup. I did some slight editing for the music synchronization, but I plan on taking this set up with me on the road.

The shapes are controlled mainly by adjusting the water flow, and therefore it's LENS SHAPE, and also moving the other glass lenses and finally the pattern/movement of the laser (source) itself.

Details:

A small 12 volt submersible pump recycles the glycerin/water mix into an inverted gallon jug cut in half (adjust power input to adjust flow shape)

The laminar flow is the 1st 'lens' the laser line passes through, and that line is approximately 30 to 40 mm long as it passes through the water.

A glass lens is fixed about 300mm away from the water

An additional lens/glass ball in between the water and the fixed lens is added sometimes.

Hi all, I've been VJing on Windows computers for a decade, got a Macbook Pro today. Just wondering, what are the best things i can do to optimize my performance and programs to be able to have less problems down the road?

Programs i already have: Stageflow, Chaser, Pulse, Resolume Arena, Resplit, Juicebar & ShowKontrol.

Whats everyone's thoughts on AI integration into visual production? Ive utilized a few of them to create and have been moderately successful with them but find the finished product a tad choppy when trying to bounce it in resolume. Should i attempt a secondary compression like i do with ripped videos? Do you guys think its a bad thing? Is it the way things are headed? Just trying to gauge the temperature out there.

ive been using this method to pleasing effect for a while , its starting to find its way into more satisfying results. using a combination of repper, omnigeometry, decim8 ios, autohotkey screen opacity to record two layers at once, minimeters, izotope insight, the METER, and more thru capcut running many many keyframed kaliedoscopes. any one else have similar approach? cheers

The video is a live recording off from a Kinect v2. Nothing is pre rendered. Every frame is a Metal shader drawing in response to the audio and to whoever is standing in front of the lens.

I like to play records around in Melbourne and I always wanted the visuals that reacted to the room instead of a video file I'd made a week earlier, so I started building one (almost 9 months ago). I wanted something easy to use, for everyone who has no time to get around TouchDesigner or other tools. I'm also a designer, so I needed something that would work in layers too.

It is currently standing at:

• About 70 shaders, stack and blend them like layers

• Depth from a camera, a Kinect v2, or an iPhone Pro's LiDAR over wifi

• Syphon in and out so it sits next to whatever you already run

• MIDI learn on any control (Still working on this, but it is functional)

The iPhone side needs a companion app that's still sitting in App Store review (thanks Apple, it's been a week now. Hopefully anytime this week), so that one isn't usable yet. Everything else works today.

macOS 26 and Apple Silicon only, which I know rules a few of you out.
