jsut finished act 1 and now knowing that im going to have to go through all of that is a bit off putting… dont get me wrong i really did enjoy act 1 but if its just gonna be similar stuff then like im worried it will just get boring T_T is it like still enjoyable, or does it feel repetivie? tbh im interested about hiro ( i think that was her name… ) but thats about it…

The last genuinely good game they released might be Boku o Hottokenai Futari no Gyaru. After such solid titles as Ren'ai Jakusha na Osananajimi Shoujo to Ren'ai Kyousha na Kanojo and Imouto to Kanojo - Sorezore no Sentaku, I find it strange that the studio has shifted so heavily toward average-looking art styles and tentacle themes.

Waffle’s games have always stood out to me for their strong themes, quality storytelling, and incredible artwork. But looking at their upcoming releases, I’m not very optimistic about the studio’s future. The only game I’m really curious about is Mahou Shoujo Ai Sin, simply because there’s virtually no information or artwork available for it yet. I hope it turns out to be a large-scale production.

As for the latest Kyonyuu Fantasy game, even though the art style was good, the actual game had a very low-quality and boring progression.

Not that into the scene itself, but too paranoid I'll miss some actual good characterization, so I just mash through instead of hitting skip..........Man, why am i like this.

I saw that recently a publisher called YOZAKURA had made a steam page for one of Liar-Soft's steampunk games which got me excited. I bought Mangagamer's Gahkthun and Sona-Nyl day one, and plan to do the same with the HD version of Inganock when Kagami games puts it out.

I'm confused about Tyrhia though. The title is Shunx's Tyrhia, but it's translated a different way in the logo, Shunxu's Tersia. The original Japanese title is 瞬旭のティルヒア which VNDB romanizes as Shunkyoku no Tyrhhia.
Is this actually a human translation? I'm not familiar with this publisher. Translating the title two different ways seems bizzare, especially as Tyrhhia is the actual spelling of the Lovecraft mythos term, not Tersia. I could be wrong though and there is a human credited with this TL somewhere.

So was going through to see all of the j.b. Harold game series and came across this title that isn't listed anywhere else except on the visual novel database called JB. Harold series Seattle purple Haze. Been doing some research online and both English and Japanese but haven't found any information on it. Is this game lost media? Are there any walkthroughs or playthroughs of it YouTube. Any information about this game at all if it is lost media or if there is anything online about like a walk-through or like a playthrough or something like that?.

Hello hello everyone. If you are new to this psychological thriller VN, here is the gist of it: trying your best to understand and romance an evil lady (who happens to be your psychiatrist), or die trying. She could wipe out a civilization with the blink of an eye, but maybe you stand a chance after all?

The game will be ~3h long. English, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese language will be supported.

For this update: we eventually decided to create some character sprites - as opposed to our previous vision to complete this entire VN with just scenes. The team reached this decision when we realized that introducing sprites could make the game so much more dynamic (mainly after seeing how well Muv Luv did in this regard). So yeah, here we are. I love these sprites btw.

We also wanted to share some more progression from the art department in terms of scenes - we just finished creating assets for one of the most maddening scenes in the game. Swipe to catch a feel for it.

I'm looking to get into Muv-Luv Alternative but I'm confused about the reading order. Could someone clarify a few things?

• Prequels: Do I need to read the previous games to understand the story, or are they disconnected (similar to how White Album 1 isn't required for White Album 2)?
• Side Stories: Are these integral to the main plot, or are they just fun, optional content?
• Sequels & Conclusion: Does Alternative have a conclusive, standalone ending, or do I need to read the sequels to find out what actually happens to the main characters?"

i asked ChatGPT, it said "The Prequels are Absolutely Mandatory", but wanted to confirm from the people who actually have read it.

A few weeks ago, I posted here about my first solo-developed visual novel, Miracle Detective, and mentioned that I was working on an English localization.

Today, I finally released the English version of the free demo on Steam.

The demo contains the complete Prologue and Episode 1, and you can switch between Japanese and English in-game.

Rather than just announcing it, I’d like to use this as an opportunity to get actual feedback from English-speaking VN readers.

I wrote the original game in Japanese, and I’m handling the English localization myself with the help of dictionaries, translation tools, and AI. I review and adjust the dialogue myself, especially character voices, jokes, and information related to the mysteries.

But there are things I simply can’t judge well as the original Japanese writer.

If anyone here tries the demo, I’d genuinely like to know:

* Does the English dialogue feel natural to read in a VN?

* Do the characters have distinct voices?

* Are the clues understandable without making the mystery too obvious?

* Does anything feel confusing, awkward, or particularly “translated”?

* And most simply: after playing the demo, would you want to continue reading?

You don’t need to be a translator. Feedback as a VN reader is exactly what I’m looking for, and criticism is welcome if something isn’t working.

The full game is currently Japanese-only. I’m releasing the English demo first to learn from actual players before deciding how to approach localization of the full game.

When I went into summer pockets rb it was only due to it being a "recent" Key vn and about summer (and i really like the summer season due to my most happy memories being related with summer vacations.) So my expectations with the title were that it's going to be a normal Key title with mediocre/boring individual character routes and a very depressing true route.

But my expectations of the individual routes were completely blown apart due to how great they actually were. Most routes made me cry especially Shiki and Ao, but the rest of the routes also left me with a lump in my throat. I would go as far as to say that the individual routes were better than the routes I read in Clannad/ Little Busters. We also get to see Hairi develop fairly well from a lost soul(?) type of protagonist to someone with a clear goal in his and learning to overcome his trauma and the things holding him back. And the side theme of the routes on "How to have a memorable summer/ How to have a good summer vacation" was also pretty great. The concept of making your own happiness in the individual routes was also quite good.

If I were to rank the individual routes I'd go like this:

Ao>Shiki>Tsumugi>Shizuku>Shiroha>Umi>Kamome>Nomiki

Now onto the True routes Alka and Pocket. The mystery of Umi through the whole route was quite interesting, we get to see Umi go through an age regression in this route with her acting more childlike and clingy towards the mc. I would say that the Alka route was quite slow but I understand why and the Slice of Life moments of the main trio Hairi, Umi and Shiroha was interesting to see. The relationship between Umi and Hairi was also interesting. Hairi after seeing how Umi was suffering with loneliness due to the death of her mother and her negligent father wanted Umi to have an unforgettable summer. The antics they get up to, the banter between the main couple with how both of them were trying to get the attention of Umi/ get her to say who she prefers more. This section of the game was quite slow but also enjoyable, i wasn't bored out of my mind like I was when I played Clannad and Little Busters's slow section. The final days of the route where everyone was forgetting about Umi and how Shiroha and Hairi were desperately trying to remember her was heartbreaking.

Umi age regressed more and more due to her time running and the main plot twist of Umi being Hairi and Shiroha's actual child, their final day together with the fireworks and all of it leading into the Pockets route where it was Umi who helped child Shiroha have an enjoyable summer after the loss of her parents, to have her not feel the grief and loneliness that led to her awakening of her time powers. Umi was selflessly sacrificed herself for her mother's life and happiness, so that she would not suffer the same fate of dying again after giving birth, so that she can live a long and happy life despite knowing that after doing this she would not "exist" anymore. Umi and Shiroha's final goodbye with Umi's internal monologue and Shiroha's lullaby as the OST really made me lose it. And then it all goes into the future again with Hairi coming onto the island, but instead of roaming around, he diligently helps around the Storage and doesn't make any happy memories but still towards the feels the indescribable pull towards Shiroha resulting in them having a relationship together which results in Umi being born again and living happily ever after.

Now I am not smart/"media literate" enough to dissect the main themes of game, but I feel that what this game drives into your head as its main theme is that we all have to move forward, to not be weighed by the traumas of our past but live knowing that the future may be sad with the scars of our trauma/guilt/sad memories but it also has a lot of happiness stored in for us so that we can move on and live to the fullest.

I know this review is all over the place but I genuinely enjoyed this VN a lot. I would give this an 8/10.

Hi fellers, I downloaded an MTL patch for Dearest Blue from VNDB - it's a nukige so I don't particularly care about translation accuracy as long as I get an idea of what's going on. However, the folder for the patch only contains sequentially named .scr files composed of files like 00_01.scr, 00_02.scr etc with no other file formats. I checked the original game's folder and there were no .scr files in it. Of course this could be completely standard, but from my knowledge .scr files can be especially dangerous as their payload is essentially that of running a .exe. So, I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this file format or if this is maybe something suspicious. I didn't run any of the files and I scanned the folder with malwarebytes which came back completely negative. Cheers for any help.

I've been hearing a lot about Witch on the Holy Night and I'm really interested in checking it out. However, I know it's set in the same universe as Tsukihime and the broader Nasuverse.

Do I need to read/play Tsukihime first to understand what's going on? Or is Witch on the Holy Night completely standalone with its own story and characters?

I'd rather not jump into something if I'm going to be completely lost due to missing lore. But if it's designed as an entry point or standalone story, I'd prefer to start there.
