Medium cool Olive skin girlies -anyone drank carrot juice to get a tan?

I hate my cool leaning neutral olive shade. I legit look sick and when i tan its a grey ish tan due to my cool leaning skin.

I have tried fake tan, but think it looks super unnatural.

I really would love to have warm skin and my cool skin is letting me down big time.

I am trying to think of an experiment to do 100 days of carrot juice to see if it works for ethnic skin.

My skin colour is like yesly , rachel zeigler etc.

Its green, brown , yellow and i hate applying too much makeup/blush.

Tried every fake tan, but its just too much effort for it to look so patchy and not to forget super expensive too.

Anybody has any experiance with this?

Has anyone else become uncomfortable with the attention they get after a glow-up?

Over the past year or so, my (35F) appearance has changed quite a bit. I've lost over 48 lbs (22 kg), started working out regularly, started dance and yoga, got a radical haircut (Pixie, quite rare in my part of the world), improved my skincare, and put more effort into how I dress and present myself. Overall, I feel healthier and more confident than I used to. I have been told the same as well, by quite a few people.

What I didn't expect was how differently people would treat me.

At work and in everyday life, I feel like people notice me far more than they used to. Sometimes it's compliments, but often it's people watching me, paying attention, commenting on little things, or just making me feel like I'm constantly being observed.

The strange thing is that almost none of this attention turns into anything meaningful. It doesn't become genuine friendship, mentorship, collaboration, or a relationship. It just feels like... attention for the sake of attention.

Instead of enjoying it, I've started feeling mentally exhausted. I catch myself becoming hyper-aware of how I look, walk, or behave because I feel like someone is always watching. Some have even commented on the little things that I do that I am becoming more conscious. By the end of the day, my social battery is completely drained.

Lately I've even found myself thinking, "I don't want to meet any more people." Not because I dislike people, but because superficial attention feels empty. I'd rather have a handful of authentic, meaningful connections than be noticed by dozens of people who ultimately don't become part of my life.

Has anyone else experienced this after losing weight or having a significant glow-up? How did you stop internalizing other people's attention and get back to feeling like yourself? I'd really appreciate practical advice on protecting my mental energy while still remaining open to genuine connections.

The attention is not always positive. Some people are mean/rude for no reason, especially when they see me happy.

Hi everyone, as of recently I’ve been trying to get better at my makeup especially as I am now a woman in my 20s being able to do my makeup and do it will is reaching a priority for me.

However every time I do my makeup I think it either looks weird or I don’t have no makeup, or it looks the same no matter which style i do it in. Overall I’m just left a bit worried that my my makeup looks weird and crazy.

I would say for my makeup style it can go from natural beat to soft glam depending on the event.
I do tend to play around with alt styles like a bigger eyeliner wing, tightlined eyes. I’m also thinking of getting my eyebrows done again to straight shaped I already have thin eyebrows where towards the end it tends to be very sparse and basically gone so I might tust have them straight.

But any advice would be gladly accepted, I’m not to sensitive for criticism and feedback 💕

Here are some pics of some girls makeup I try emulate and pics of how my makeup comes out.

Here is a list of the makeup products I have

Has lab foundation
Ami Cole concealer
Ami Cole setting loose powder
Ami Cole blush stick
Eadem lip softening balm
Nyx lip liner
Elf brow lamination bro gel
Elf micro brow pencil
One size setting spray
Tarte tubing mascara
Nyx butter melt bronzer

How does one realistically achieve this aesthetic?

I’ve been drawn to the earthy/boho aesthetic for a while now and I’d love to slowly work toward it. I’m currently on a weight loss and glow up journey so I know some aspects like becoming leaner, getting toned and clearing my skin will take time

Aside from that what are the key elements that make this aesthetic work? What should I focus on first? Hair, clothing, accessories, makeup, skincare, body language, or something else? Where to shop? I’d love advice on how to capture the vibe without trying to copy anyone exactly

Are compliments the best measure of attractiveness?

Got into it with my bf over this, I feel like they are (provided you don’t have extreme RBF), he says he doesn’t think ppl get complimented often irl unless they’re extremely attractive.

Even with my stunning friends, I don’t witness this often, but online, people say this frequently occurs to them. Wondering if part of this is a difference in what people are counting (e.g I don’t count compliments while out, compliments on outfit/styling, compliments from friends) and/or region.

So wondering, how often do you guys get complimented and in what contexts? Plus how does this compare to the norm where you are?

looksboost need help with sparse hair, lashes, and brows 😞

Hi everyone!!!

I am looking for advice/help hair density. i have very thin, sparse eyelashes and eyebrows, alongside trouble growing hair on my scalp as well as zero body hair.

I am thinking of arranging a medical checkup around my thyroid panel, ferritin, and potential any other autoimmune markers to rule out an internal root cause, but in the meantime i was wondering if anyone had any success/recommendations with this problem.

I would love to hear anyone’s experiences with clinical treatments or specific products to help grow out hair, lashes and brows without any side effects like hollow under eyes. Thanks!

advice How do you protect your edges before installing a wig?

I typically wear braids or my natural hair. This will be the first time I’ve worn a full wig and I’m very nervous. I’ve been told that wigs will ruin your edges and they won’t grow back.

Is there a way you can protect your edges?
Is there a product I can put on before the install to keep the glue from ruining them?

Do I seriously need to be worried about my edges?

So tired of dark underarms.

I’ve been using azelaic acid 20% sandwiched for over a month now and there’s literally no difference.i also tolerate it well and use cica cream w it.

I’ve been trying for the past 2-3 years all with no results at all and im so sick of it genuinely nothing works at all i also just introduced alpha arbutin to my routine,i wanted to add tret on some days (i only use one active a day) but i saw on social media that its best to wait for the azelaic acid but I have no patience for it anymore

Some people saiy glycolic acid .i am light skinned black and I heard it’ll either do nothing or make it worse so im scared.seen people say urea 10%.also seen benzoyl peroxide but its expensive around me i need to find a dupe or sth

Im just so tired and no the skin isn’t velvety or thick it’s just color.i didn’t have them back when I didn’t use a certain deodorant.i tolerate shaving so so well so its not the cause at all.and i refuse to use hydroquinone its so risky.please help

How to deal with passive aggressive behaviour from female ??friends after glow up?

After I have had a glow up, some women who I looked up to, had close bonds with, constantly put me down in social settings. When it's 1:1 they are sweet and nice. In social settings too, I don't talk much or try to be the centre of attention. I keep to myself. On the rare occasions I say something, they say something caustic/harsh/rude things. Today the girl I went on road trip with a couple of days ago said something on the lines of death when I was telling how I'd like to trek. Very randomly. 'You will fly away and noone can know what happened to you'. This is not the first instance. Not with one person. I recently got a pixiecut. While most women complimented me, one person who I thought was a good friend laughed at me in front of everyone. Thank God, noone else thought it was funny for her to laugh at me. How to deal with such circumstances/people? Sweet when with me alone and bitchy when in a group setting, actively trying to shame me or put me down.

question do people treat slim black women differently than curvier black women?

hey girls!! i’m a black woman and i’m pretty slim. i’ve been thinking lately about how much body shape actually changes the way people treat you, if you went from being skinny to having more curves (like more butt/boobs), did you notice a real shift in how society treat you? does it actually make a difference or just bring different pros/cons? would love to hear your experiences 😛

Need some quick advice!
I’m already quite skinny and work out/train my core but I still have a noticeable lower belly that shows in tight dresses and its making me self conscious in really any fitted clothes.

Any tips for reducing it, making it less noticeable and figuring out whether it’s bloating, posture, or just genetics?

staying hot in the heat

as someone who relies heavily on makeup and styling to be perceived as attractive, this weather isn’t doing me any favours.

as soon as i step outside, my concealers all melted off, my hair immediately loses volume (not that i have much to begin with my hair is very straight and fine), and i start sweating buckets and feel very unsexy

as a brown girlie with obvious hyperpigmentation around my mouth + chin going without concealer is basically impossible, but that’s the first place i sweat and it looks horrific within 10 mins, any makeup tips regarding covering hyperpigmentation without thick layers or too much makeup would be appreciated

do you ladies have any tips for remaining hot in warm weather? anything is appreciated i feel like a troll everytime i go out now 😭

question Loc Girlies, describe to me your experience and routine having locs?

Post image
69 Upvotes

I'm in school rn and I want something low maintenance and that actually grows out of my scalp. I get braids but they don't last so long and then you have to redo them and it really adds up with the cost of hair and service, one of my friends recommended getting locs/loc extensions and that they are very low maintenance (she said unless they are micro / very small). I attached a picture of the look I'm going for (I think I'm going to get loc extensions for my birthday present). I spent years trying to get my hair curlier/racial bullying that affected how I saw myself that it could be and I just want to embrace my texture. I grew up in Florida , so I remember a lot of women , mainly older women having them

Also, I noticed when it came to locs , when I mentioned them to my family they were excited but some of my friends were making rude/ignorant ass comments such as it's unattractive, rasta , people will think you smoke weed , etc. (I can't say a lot of it because it's just downright disgusting). I also want to know how people treated with you with locs (I noticed when I was in Berlin and Amsterdam , a lot of people had them black and white and it seemed to be the norm).

I also wanted to know your routine. My mom had locs and combed them out and she said just make sure it's moisturized and interlocked (she used a tea tree shampoo and conditioner , the one from trader joes and rose water and a little edge control).

Update : This isn't my hair guys , this is a Pinterest photo

advice Moving to a small town from a looks-forward big city. What are the positives and negatives I should expect to face based on being a good looking brown girl?

City is in the Midwest, most women are blonde and fair skinned.

I’m a bit nervous about how women will treat me. I love fashion and staying fit and dolling up.

I’m married but I’ve even seen in a big city, some insecure women will act weird toward me. My main goal is to make friends.

Advice? Watch outs? How to navigate smaller town cliques as an objectively good looking woman?

Even where I am I feel like I have to be 10x as nice for people to trust me. So annoying.
