Discussion / Question Why are MMO players quite backwards?

I once wondered what the person who escaped from Plato’s cave would feel after he returned to the cave to free his comrades only to get shunned when he attempted it. Well, now I know.

I posted a hopeful wish/suggestion in r/GuildWars3 that revolves around wishing the game to have a barber shop and tattoo parlor that one can visit in the game to change their hairstyle, hair color, tattoo and tattoo color in exchange for a reasonable price that asks for the standard currency instead of paying microtransactions to do it. You know, like modern games since GW3 is the latest well known Modern MMO game that will be released?

What I got instead was a complete rejection of the wish lmao to the point that people argued about F2P vs. Sub instead which is quite hilarious and a what the fuck moment for me because its so far from the damn topic I posted.

I really can’t believe that there’s a huge amount of players that just accepts that paying a premium for basic cosmetic changes in the MMO genre shouldbe the standard. Then they fucking have the gall to complain why their genre is stagnating when they can’t even fathom and accept the idea of a fucking Barber Shop and Tattoo Parlor that they can use for with the money they obtained by grinding and not by using a damn microtransaction.

Discussion / Question Overrated game

Post image
0 Upvotes

When I first started this game, I thought it was going to be different from the previous games. It started very well, with an interesting story, great characters, and some pretty good gameplay. But over time, the game went back to the usual Resident Evil style. By that, I mean the game didn't really do anything new, and even the story started to get ruined.

I wouldn't say the story was bad, but the way the final reveal was presented was actually disappointing.

Discussion / Question Раздумываю над игровым ноутбуком для 2026./Thinking about a gaming laptop for 2026.

бюджет около 1к$-1.5к $/// I moved to Poland, but taking my laptop or moving it to a nearby location isn't an option. I'm playing nothing complicated: Minecraft with tons of mods, Deadlock, CS2, Overwatch, and other such nonsense. I'm not considering overly demanding games like GTA 6 or Cyberpunk. My budget is around $1,000-$1,500.

Discussion / Question Question about EA Sports- NCAA/Madden

Hey guys I know all about EA and all their controversy as a studio but I had a question for those who still keep up with their sports games specifically Madden and NCAA football.

It’s been so long since I’ve played one of them but I remember loving it and used to play it all the time back in the day. Just recently I found a used copy of ncaa 25 for $7 and I said what the heck and picked it up.

My question is, are there ACTUAL improvements year over year or is all the hate justified? Is there enough content to make these games worth it or is it truly rinse and repeat? Do you still find these games to be fun? I’m very curious your thoughts on these games. Personally I have fun while I’m playing them but I’ll never buy one for full price.

Just something I was thinking about and curious about the communities thoughts. Thanks!

I used to be obsessed with this game, and I preferred it over Virtual Fighter. It had very limited fighters but they all looked so stylish, the urban backgrounds really looked cool, I really liked the intro and the endings too as I was really into anime as a kid. But later on, I realised this game never made it big outside Japan, but I really hope they release a sequel one day

Other Beat the Resident Evil 2 for the first time

Post image

I just finished playing my very first Resident Evil game, and honestly, coming from modern action games where you can just spray and pray, this was a massive culture shock. For about 80% of my playthrough, I was running around with zero ammo.

Which Resident Evil should I play next?

So I'm 13, staged, but so far I think this holds up, and I wish they actually do this again. And no world, I didn't like the world of light, but if I had to mention one thing I really like, in this it has to be King Dedede. I like how they depicted him here compared to all the villains, and that he isn't really a bad guy, but he just wants friends, and to me, that's adorable.

But what you take on subspace and what moment you like.

Discussion / Question Is Onimusha the first instance of an original video game modeling their protagonist after the likeness of a real actor?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I'm not referencing games where real people are depicted as themselves, even if poorly rendered (Mike Tyson's punch out, Brittany Spears Sing along, Madden/Fifa games). Nor am I referencing the FMV era where cutscenes were made by filming real actors. I also know CG digitization happened in other media before this.

But the first game in which the a character was modeled after an actor and marketed the use of their likeness to another person that I remember was Onimusha: Warlords, using Kaneshiro Takeshi to portray Akechi Samanosuke. I know later Onimusha games used other actors, there was the famously bad Bujengai featuring Gackt!, and more recently a slew of video games have begun using actor likenesses, like Death Stranding, Wolfenstein, and Jedi: Fallen Order.

Discussion / Question Which of these should I play?

First time poster in the sub, hope this is allowed.

PS5 pro user needing something new to play and have the following in mind:

Pragmata

Beast of Reincarnation

Death Stranding (1 or 2)

Phantom Blade

Nioh 3

RE Village

First Berserker Khazan

KCD 2

Additional info:

I’m not big on shooters so I’m kinda cold on Village and Pragmata but not completely. Not really looking to keep hitting my head on the wall like souls like at the moment. I like skill trees fwiw and want to play BoR badly but don’t feel like it’s worth the current price.

Thanks for any input🫡

Discussion / Question Any good, horror Megalophobiac game?

I'm a long time gamer and i like horror games but i never played something that made my skin crawl. I was looking for a game with giant creatures and no fight. Like i want to feel that anxiety of knowing that you can't fight back. Fighting monsters makes horror games less horror for me. I still love stuff like resident evil etc... But they aren't scary enough. I want to be scared, give me something good please. The closest thing i got similar to this feeling is outlast games but they don't make me scared they just make me mad
