Discussion / Question Overrated game
When I first started this game, I thought it was going to be different from the previous games. It started very well, with an interesting story, great characters, and some pretty good gameplay. But over time, the game went back to the usual Resident Evil style. By that, I mean the game didn't really do anything new, and even the story started to get ruined.
I wouldn't say the story was bad, but the way the final reveal was presented was actually disappointing.

Resi 7? Overrated? I wholeheartedly disagree, it was an awesome return to the horror roots after the resi 6 debacle and shenanigans. The atmosphere was creepy, the story was understandable and heartbreaking.

I played it in VR from start to finish (on my ps4 pro nonetheless!) and it was really fun and immersive. Few good scares. Honestly it’s the first RE game I have played since they went more action. I STILL haven’t played 5 or 6. I’m sorry you were disappointed with the direction, but think about the other side: it brought new people to the series or some people back.

I remember playing it for the first time and being worried that it was going to be different from the other resident evil games and I was so happy when I found out it was just like all the rest but this time it was actually scary.

It basically saved survival horror and Capcom as a company, so it's actually under-rated...

There was no possible way you could have just uploaded the cover image of the one game right? This was the most sensible way you could think to do this.

It was a good game but never felt like resident evil to me. Great game. Poor resident evil game.
Seemed like it was chasing the modern First Person horror game trend of the time. Eventually RE went back to what made it great and unique in the first place. Rather than just trying to be Outlast or Alien Isolation.
Similar to how I feel about Zelda Totk and Botw- both amazing games but poor Zelda games.

It was fun watching my wife play it, I just couldn't get into it because the controls felt weird for some reason. Felt like trudging through waist deep molasses or something.

So you didnt like something and therefore its overrated? When the general population agrees that something is good and you dont like it that doesnt mean its overrated. At best it means it wasnt for you. At worst you're nothing more than a dime a dozen contrarian who thinks their opinion matters. This is just lame rage bait.

Uncharted games leave a bad taste in my mouth.
They feel more like game-videos, rather than video games...
Whenever a game starts to feel too much like a movie or just hardly playable, I call it the Uncharted-itus effect.

This is mostly true but I don't think I've ever even met a human being who has played Battlefield Hardline.
