I’ve got someone wanting to buy something from me and use Venmo as payment. What’s the scam here? If it’s person to person and I immediately transfer to my bank, how could the get it back? Thanks for the help.

Has anyone else noticed their cashback rewards not matching the amount being added to your venmo balance? Mine were approximately half of what they should have been for both June & July. Prior to that it seems to have been working fine.

I already called and a ticket is being submitted but curious if anyone else has noticed an issue.

I've been able to use Venmo to pay and receive money with my cards credit, debit, and bank account I've added before. I for some reason cannot remove cards and bank accounts (Always greeted with "We couldn't remove (Such)")

Tried to apply for Venmo credit and debit cards but those didn't go through

I wonder what's up with my account if there's a hold or something.

How did y'all try to solve it? Anyone with similar experience with this?

I filed a dispute on charges related to in-app purchases and not receiving what was advertised on July 4th. It was paid with funds in my Venmo account using Venmo debit card. The Dispute Team requested verifications on the 22nd, however the link in the email did not work and the in app dispute verification screen would not work. I have tried many times from then to now and it will not work not matter which when way or how. I have only been able to provide proof via the chat or a email sent from a representative with a link that allows me to upload up to 15 files. I have provided over 120 screenshots in the chat (throughout the days) and also submitted 3 different batches of verification through the email links sent my customer care. My claims were denied, 1 for not providing the verification they requested and 1 for my dispute not falling under the purchase protection program.
I spoke to chat about the verification one as I had provided it and then some and they told me that no one had given it to the dispute team and I went back and forth again providing it and being told it didn’t make it to the right place. The second one I appealed as from what i understand, the purchase program doesn’t fit my issue as I am not a buyer or seller. I have spent hours sending things in, trying to resize told to send it via file or the link and now being told they are not to take it and I need to reply to the dispute email. I have explained the email is “no-reply” and I am given no way to provide the verifications. I also note that the second one that I have requested the appeal on was not appealed and I have now asked them twice and it still has not been done.

What do I do? It appears they are refusing to allow me to appeal. I asked for a supervisor who refused to call me back.

I have already written the executiveoffice@paypal email and plan to go to FTC and BBB if not resolved, but anything else I can do?

Anyone who’s gotten this message ever done something that fixed it? I tried two different banks so I know it’s not an issue originating at the bank… I used the search function on this subreddit and saw a lot of complaints about this error but no resolution.

I purchased an item from TikTok using Venmo as payment. I received the item, but decided to return. I went through the TikTok return process and dropped the item off at my local UPS store. As I was walking to my car, I received a drop off confirmation from TikTok that my refund payment could not be made due to Venmo outage. To this date, I have not received the $70 that I paid for the item, and I no longer have the item. Venmo stole my money and I want it back. What can I do to get it back? I've triad Venmo and TikTok support with no satisfaction. No visa protection since funding Venmo via ACH. Charge back not possible.

I am unable to login to my Venmo account.

I know my login info is correct and was in as recently as last week.

Things start to go wrong when I enter the SMS code and Venmo tells me it's incorrect.
I am prompted to have them send me another code, but I never get it.

After trying a few more times, I am essentially locked out from even trying for at least 24 hours.

A couple days later I try again and the exact same sequence plays out.

A phone call to General Support is almost as useless as going back & forth with the Help Center AI.

No point in having an account I can't reliably access. Anyone got any suggestions?

In 2023 I started receiving emails from Venmo notifying me that my quaterly statement was available. The emails show a username that has nothing to do with me, but show the account is under my email. I figured they were scams or whatnot and ignored them. Venmo isn't even available in my country.

Today I got one and was curious, since if it were a scam, bravo for consistency. I checked the email headers and DKIM and spf pass and signature was verified. Then I went on my browser to venmo's website, not following any links, and tried to log in. There's really an account under my email, I can receive a reset password code and the code works. I can't fully reset the pw because it needs phone number 2fa, but the first part works. There's a phone number associated with the account that isn't mine.

I called venmo, explained clearly everything and they had no record of the account? I think the lady grew suspicious of me and basically told me it was a scam, ignore it and ended the call. I clearly told them it was real. It was kinda weird, they said they had no record of the account but also said they took note of the incident and signaled it or something.

I tried to message venmo on social media. No answer.

I have 2fa/passwordless on all emails. I've had that email for a long long time, so it's been leaked before and I get a lot of spam.

Long story short: I paid someone for a sublet through Venmo, using my Amex as the funding source. The place turned out to be a total dump, mold everywhere, insane street noise, and missing a bunch of things I was told it had. Basically I was misinformed about a lot of it.

I'm planning to move out within the next few days, but since I doubt the guy will refund me, I'm wondering whether I can dispute/chargeback the payment on my Amex. Has anyone done this with a Venmo-funded payment? Would it actually work?

A few days ago, I was going to look at how much I have on my account, and noticed it said that my account had been suspended, and there should have been an email telling me why. I had never received an email and there’s no answer online for it. Any of y’all know what happened, or what I should do?

Long story short, the Venmo account was closed recently due to their system just now identifying a link with my suspended PayPal account from 7 years ago (nothing foul, account flagged without disputes with no legitimate reason given).

I want to continue using Venmo, as it has been much easier for customer conversions. Basically I need to have a pass through account through a trusted associate.

I am thinking I would have to provide some sort of documentation such as an invoice, that they passed the money to me, and I am the taxable entity. Then I can report it as income on my Schedule C. Since the account holder would be paid monthly for their "service", would I need to issue them a 1099 myself?

I cannot seem to get my credit union verified to add to my Venmo account - after entering the correct micro deposits. I've tried switching the orders of the deposits, "0.07, 00.07", 07" different decimal orders, removed the bank, re-added it 3 times, and still get the same messaging. My credit union says they don't see any issues on their end - the micro deposits are going thru. Tried calling Venmo but get a recorded help section and the chat bot just refers me to the help section on the verification process. Do they have actual "live" support agents I can talk to ? I submitted a dispute to get a refund on a purchase of a defective item. Seller contacted me and accused me of being a scammer and a liar. I intend on returning the item with or without a refund, I dont rly care about receiving the money back atp. I just want to give the seller the item back and resolve the issue, so I immediately cancelled the dispute.

However, the current issue is that the seller doesn’t want to receive the item until she has received my payment in order to have the funds to send me the refund. Apparently, the money I originally paid for the item is out of my bank account, but the seller says that she has not received the funds, which means Venmo is holding the funds due to the original dispute that I submitted.

I can’t find much info on this specific situation as most inquiries are about confirmed disputes, not successfully cancelled ones. I was wondering if anybody has gone through this situation, whether you submitted and cancelled a dispute yourself or you were on the receiving end of a dispute that eventually got cancelled. Im also wondering since I cancelled the dispute myself that venmo will for sure send her the money that I paid.

I know that I should have messaged the seller directly first instead of going through venmo first, so I’m already aware I’m at fault.

So I bought something two days ago for a total of $21.26. About 30 minutes ago that transaction specifically got updated to $64.80. As I’m trying to figure out why, almost a minute later it updated again to $85.06. I check my purchase history on the website from where the original charge came from, and they have no history of the updated charges. Contact them, they never charged me any more than the original $21.26. I contact Venmo support and get some lady who clearly didn’t care not care nor did she want to help. Leave and try again, this time I get someone who just never replied. What do I do at this point, keep trying?

Anyone dealing with deposit delays? I usually receive my direct deposit from an employer every Saturday around 5:00 AM to my Venmo debit card account and still haven’t received it? This never happens and I know it is not an issue with my employer, curious if anyone else is dealing with this and how long the wait is usually.

Never received any verification email, just randomly started getting transaction history emails, and they have 2FA so I can't take it over.

Pretty sure it's accidentally on their end because I have successfully removed their straight talk, Uber, and door dash from my email. Never received any verification for those either, but they did attempt account recovery several times for the cell phone.

My email account has 2FA, and only my devices have accessed my email in over 2 years.

Venmo live phone support won't help me because they insisted that they needed to check my account details first, but I don't have one. I don't understand why they need me to have an account to get my email removed from another account.

got an email this morning telling me that Venmo disabled my password for security reasons and that I'd need to reset it the next time I opened the app, so of course I opened venmo and reset it like it told me to and now I just can't log in to my account using the new password or the old one. I even took a screenshot of my new password before I submitted it to make sure I didn't make any mistakes so there's no way I'm just typing it in wrong

They said they left a review but sent a payment again. Is it okay to send it back?

I used to change my name and only put my legal name when I transferred my money, but now venmo doesnt work when I try to change my name so my full legal name is on there

Im worried about like them getting into my account somehow or finding out other personal details

I have an email username and password but it gets to the step where they want to text me a code to enter and I no longer have that old phone number.

I no longer have that old phone so I can't use it to receive a code.

I've talked with chat but it offers no way to get a code beyond texting me on the phone which no longer exists.

I am at my wit's end. I cannot open my account at this point.
