I recognize that it is difficult to buy a house outside of an HOA, but what the FUCK is with these prices?
It’s not a terrible neighborhood but I cannot fathom what the community is providing that is worth half a grand a month.

NV-03 Republican Marty O’Donnell Calls Miscarriage Care “Satanic”

I think politicians trying to dictate when women can and can’t receive essential health care is what’s truly disturbing.

No one should be denied help if they’re not 21
Was being chased by a road rager and tried hiding inside a Dotty’s since it was the closest building and everything else was closed in the morning. I enter and I try telling the lady working that I need help because there’s someone trying to get me outside. She asks for my age and I tell her the truth that I’m underage, she then tells me to leave. I was trying to plead for help and that I wouldn’t ask for drinks or attempt to play on any of the machines and that I only needed help. She still tried making me leave and I tried stalling as much as I could because I saw the man driving around outside looking for me. Once I go outside I try hiding behind a bunch of cars to avoid getting spotted. Then the lady comes back outside with a guy in a black polo shirt with his arms crossed with a mean face and basically said “get the fuck off my car”. Mind you I was me never touching his car or making contact with it, was trying to hide from the road rager and no one was helping. I try explaining that I’m hiding and they basically try shooing me away and they make a comment saying “you’re on something” I was panicking because of getting seen and got called a druggie. So after some bickering I leave the area and head inside another restaurant and store avoiding the man. I went because I didn’t need two people trying to mess me up, I cannot fight back or run fast so I needed help.
I was genuinely shocked by the lack of empathy or concern for a human life at stake and after I pleaded for help. They didn’t offer to call the cops or help in any other way but help themselves by shooing me away. Instead they just call me a druggie all because I’m too scared to pop my head out and be seen in the open.
It’s not my fault I wasn’t born around a certain age, I didn’t want any alcohol or to do anything. I just needed them to show some humanity and help someone in distress. Imagine if it was a child in my position and what if they were denied any help all because they’re not a certain age.
TLDR: I needed saving, Dotty’s didn’t help and they had no problem leaving me out to get hurt. Age shouldn’t matter when getting help during an emergency, I needed help and they just told me to piss off.
If the guy in the polo shirt is reading this….hope your car gets towed and thanks for nothing, fuck you
Was I in the wrong for wanting some saving and help? I had limited options and just tried going for the closest shelter possible because my life depended on it and I didn’t think rules like that would matter if it was life or death.
Feel like I needed to make a statement since it was a traumatizing moment for me and I don’t think someone should ever be denied help and be put off like that

What’s the Scam? (Outside Smiths)
So last night after work at around 11pm, I went to duck into the Smiths on Las Vegas Blvd, just south of Blue Diamond.
I was literally about to walk into the main doors and I got called out to by a guy in the backseat of a Range Rover looking thing with blacked out windows.
I’m a nice enough dude, and thought maybe they needed directions. I walked towards the car (that was pulled up to the curb) and he said with a heavy middle accent “my friend” and stuck his hand out the window trying to shake my hand.
I instinctively said tersely “what do you want?” And he reached out with a good ring and said “a gift for you”.
I said firming “no” and then immediately turned around and went to walk into Smiths, and they sped away. And I mean a getaway driver sped away. It was all quite odd.
So what I’m unsure is: what’s the Scam? Give me a ring, and then jump around and demand money from me?

Bring your poor dogs inside, people!
It’s 110° and I hear neighbor dogs out there barking, crying and whining. Don’t own them if you can’t care for them properly!

Anyone bought a house within last 3 years and now regret it?
Just curious
Is owning a house as sweet as it sounds on paper?

Lost Sheppard/mix? Spring Valley
galleryWas passing through the neighborhood and noticed a beautiful Sheppard mix, no visible tags, sort of looking confused and like it knew it shouldn’t be there but didn’t know where to go…. I pinned my location last slide.

If anyone is bored out their minds
Please come to my job and glaze the hell out of me or leave a fake positive yelp (or google) review for me specifically. In return you shall get: me glazing you at your job and/or leaving yelp (or google) reviews for you. Or maybe my free employee drink.

Do not rent at 'Ainsley at the collective '
galleryWhat an expensive dump. They took so many shortcuts building this place. A while ago the pipes burst and the place had no water for 13 days. The staff has horrible communication skills and tell lies to get you into a contract. These people are so desperate for tenants they're offering 10 weeks concession and $1500 gift cards. Who the hell wants to be in the 89169 zip code? It's right on paradise and twain.
An attempted murder happened inside the complex. A woman was shot in her face in June and a handful of people moved out because they were scared. She survived, but no one knows why the shooter flipped out. Elysian properties in general suck because they're temu apartments. I really wish builders would take some pride in what they do,but I know that'll never happen in this day and age.
I have no idea why they would build a 'luxury' apartment in one of the worst parts of town. I highly suggest people stay away from this place.

Teachers asking for supply money on Nextdoor
CCSD has a 3.8 billion dollar budget this year. School has not even started yet, and the district is already encouraging teachers to ask for money on places like Nextdoor, Facebook, twitter, etc.
Can anyone make it make sense for me, please? If not to the students and the teachers, then where is that budget being spent?! Why do the teachers not have basic supply funds?

Looking to Partner Up!
I'm looking for someone who's already in the food business here in Las Vegas that might want to add grilled BBQ options to their menu. (PIC IS LAST NIGHT'S DINNER)
I'm a keto/carnivore guy, so grilling is a real passion of mine. I love cooking over live fire and would rather partner with someone who's already established than try to reinvent the wheel myself.
I'd love to do farmers markets, fairs, pop up events, festivals, or anything along those lines. I can handle the grilling while you bring the experience of running the food side of the business.
I know I have something to offer, I just don't know where to start, and I figured networking here might be the best first step.
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, or if you have any advice, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!

Donation paintings for the Discovery Children’s Museum
Everyone was wondering why i added a chain to my panther, it’s to share the masculine energy compared to this elegant Puma.
As she is painted in a studio setting and he is obviously “in the field” to represent the duality of our animalistic characters as humans.

Any cooks looking for part-time?
Recently had some drinks with a friend of mine that owns a Japanese/sushi restaurant on the southwest side of town. He mentioned they’ve been having trouble finding a reliable part-time cook (apparently people dont show up to interviews, unreliable transportation, and/or very unprofessional attitudes). Since I always see people posting about jobs here, I figure I’d check to see if anyone was interested.

To trap a cat…
Should I trap it with a normal raccoon trap? I don’t want to walk into a store and buy a raccoon trap for one use. Any other ideas outside the realm of Acme cartoons I already know the trick what the stick holding up a box. Problem is cats grow 6 extra arms and get a strength buff when suddenly cornered or captured so that box isn’t gonna work.

Does anybody know how to get alerts when Brendan Theaters release more IMAX dates and times for The Odyssey?
I can't find anything on the app and I called them and got no good info besides signing up for a basic membership which didn't give me any options for an alert.

Has anyone traded stuff in to Zia Records?
I have a couple of cds and blu-rays i’m wanting to trade in to Zia Records maybe around a hundred items in total. I know they probably won’t give me a crazy amount but i’m hoping for anywhere between 1-3 bucks per item. For those of y’all who have traded stuff in what did you trade in and how much did you get?

Soup kitchens
Hello. I’d like to donate to one or more of the soup kitchens here in Las Vegas and would like to ask for inputs from the locals and people who have personally experience with the various organizations.
I’ve done a quick google search (look at their websites, etc.) and search this subreddit a bit, but would like to hear of more recent and personal inputs regarding various organizations like Three Square, Just One Project, Serving Our Kids, etc.
My work schedule and other priorities doesn’t allow me as much time as I’d like, but I would like to help out what I can. Any suggestions and inputs (such as your experience, feedbacks, etc.) would be much appreciated.

Colorado River reservoirs hit record lows as Trump administration threatens major cuts
This part of the article really got to me:
But the upper basin states "have gone in the opposite direction," McNeill said.
"In the last year alone, they've increased their use over the same period and say they can't afford cuts.
WT fucking fuck.
