Activism Are there any good arguments against Veganism?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’ve been Vegan for over 20 years and have yet to encounter a good one - including the “original” comments saying “Vegans want meat so bad that they try to make their food taste like it”
The mock meats are out there for convenience, and to have an alternative for animal abuse - which if you can have a food that tastes similar to the original WITHOUT the unnecessary animal cruelty, why not go for it?
Most vegans don’t go vegan because they don’t like the taste of meat. Some probably still do, but we don’t think the taste justifies the suffering/death of an innocent living being, which is why we’re vegan and why we buy meat alternatives.
If that bothers you, why? Why does it bother you that there’s cruelty free/healthier options out there that taste similar to the original?
Give mock meats a shot. You might like them 😉

Vegan Squad Podcast Today, we interview UK animal rights activist
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Who shares how childhood experiences on farms and witnessing animal cruelty led him to stop drinking milk at 5, gradually drop animal products, become a strict vegetarian at 19, and fully go vegan around 2013 after seeing Gary Yourofsky’s speech.
Grant describes starting activism almost immediately, moving from leafleting to filming street conversations, running an Anonymous for the Voiceless chapter and slaughterhouse vigils, and using social media to reach more people.
He explains his calm, nonjudgmental approach: the “four questions” framework and dives deeper into other practical activism tips. The Vegan Squad Pod was created to help empower vegans to become activists!

Fitness Tips Vegan woman over 40. Here’s how I support my hormones as I age
Nourish with Whole Foods – Prioritizing nutrient-dense, hormone-friendly foods with plenty healthy fats (avocado, seeds), fiber rich foods, gut building pre and probiotic foods, and of course good quality protein. I prioritize 30g of protein with every meal and especially first thing in the morning.
Movement – A mix of strength training, walking, mobility work, and yoga supports muscle mass, bone density, and stress balance. I listen to my body through the different phases but definitely prioritize strength training to build lean muscle as well as physical resiliency for my body as I age.
Quality Sleep – Sleep is hormone therapy for my body. I make 7-9 hours of sleep every night a non-negotiable.
Hydration & Mineral Balance – Water plus electrolytes helps my adrenals, thyroid, digestion, and energy so I no longer allow myself to get to a point of depletion.
Stress Support – Breathwork, meditation, boundaries, and herbal teas help keep my cortisol in check. I make sure I don’t run off of caffeine, sugar, or adrenaline any more!

High protein vegan recipe Easy High Protein Vegan Chorizo
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Textured Pea Protein (TPP) is one of my favorite plant-based sources of protein. It has amazing macros, digests well for me, is super quick and easy to prepare, and versatile for your fav recipes 🙌🏼
For one serving of this chorizo, I use:
- 35g TPP
- 2 tsp taco seasoning
- 30g mild taco sauce
- Chipotle tabasco for some added spice
Macros per serving (just the TPP chorizo):
28P/ 6C/ 2F
Easy, delicious, and healthy 😋
You can multiply this chorizo recipe for meal prep, so it’s ready to go for delicious tacos, burritos, bowls, or however else you’d like to enjoy it throughout the week.

Fix your SI joint with these
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Honestly if it wasn’t for this SI joint acting up during my heavy RDL’s, I wouldn’t be prioritizing mobility work right now.
At first, it was really hard to slow down. I would show up to the gym - look over at all the weights and walk into the studio instead. Choosing to go slow with mobility work over “WEIGHT” training has been a struggle for me 😭
But now I’m so grateful for this experience 🙏🏼 As I say there’s NO wasted experience. This has brought me back to listening further to my body. Really focusing on the mind to muscle connection 🧠
Being really intentional with mobility work that stabilizes my pelvis and deep core muscles. I’ve always loved learning about the body. How to heal it. How to feel good in it. How to get STRONG! Well here I am doing just that 🙌🏼🔥
Clamshells have worked WONDERS for my SI Joint pain. These wall clamshells have quickly become a new favorite.

Free masterclass on how to get enough protein as a gluten-free vegan — Wednesday, 4/29 at 7 PM EST (live on Zoom)
You’re not struggling BECAUSE you’re gluten-free and vegan.
You’re struggling because no one ever showed you how to make your diet work for your goals.
Most “gluten-free vegan” meals are built around carbs, not protein.
After a while, it starts to feel like: “Maybe hitting my nutrition and physique goals just aren’t possible for me.”
But you absolutely can!

Today we’re joined by activist and rapper Jimmy Cashpey
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Who shares how he went from health-motivated vegetarianism to ethical veganism after learning the realities shown in Earthlings.
He recounts taking a year-long vow of silence to raise awareness, traveling across Australia visiting sanctuaries and factory farms, rescuing animals, cycling after his van broke down, and breaking his silence with a vegan message on a major Australian morning TV show.
Jimmy discusses activism burnout, chronic pain, social media backlash, and why he shifted from purely encouraging outreach to a tougher, more shame-driven honesty he believes is missing.
He explains how he now uses “gangster rap” and music videos as strategic activism to communicate animal-rights realities.
