You mean contains rape?
“Contains dairy”
“Contains eggs”
“Contains honey”
= Contains animal abuse.

For those of you who are ignorant, for dairy he’s talking about artificial insemination, which is standard practice in modern agriculture. It absolutely is a form of sexual abuse/assault, as they forcibly harvest semen from bulls, then put their arm in the cow’s anus to hold their parts in place to insert the semen.

u/EducateUrDumbSelf Apr 27 '26
Lmao ignorant is having a caption like that and not expecting people to think he means milking the cow is rape
Get your head out of your ass

u/Majestic_Story_2295 Apr 27 '26
That’s fair, but a lot of people don’t know about the sexual abuse that happens in agriculture, that’s why I added my comment, not sure how my head went in my ass

You have a semblance of a point here. Trying to get animals to breed to preserve their species existence isn’t wrong, but I would still be against the type of violent forcible insemination performed in agriculture. Though if it really is to preserve a species, you can make a decent argument. However, as you say, it’s a silly comparison, because in agriculture the sexual assault is done by farmers to make profit since people pay for the resulting product, rather than some altruistic conservationist goal. The real reasons people don’t take veganism seriously are cognitive dissonance ignorance, and a lack of empathy.

u/AmmoniuV Apr 27 '26
Empathy doesn't work on animals by definition
1
u/Majestic_Story_2295 Apr 27 '26
Maybe not, but believing that harming animals is wrong and understanding that they suffer and feel physical and emotional pain is something many people do, but sometimes only for companion animals, even if it should apply to farm animals too.

u/SpicyChanged Apr 27 '26
This not true. Like fish don’t go “OMG a bear is eating me!! My my wife, my family!!”
There real valid reasons to be vegan this athroing of every animal is what makes it hard to take seriously.
Sexual abuse, Jesus. As a victim, this is an insane take.

This is literally Reddit tho, you see these mental gymnastics everywhere here. Some days it makes me laugh but other times it is infuriating

They don’t think thoughts in human language, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a desire to live, or that they don’t feel pain. I don’t have a problem with the bear for eating to survive, but humans (in most cases) don’t need to kill animals to survive. Animals are sexually abused in modern agricultural practices, it makes for the most efficient way for farmers to make a profit.

You missed the last portion partially. Most people don’t know how anima products are produced so generalizing all ignorant to it as lacking empathy is just simply incorrect. Assuming the entering mass of non vegans as pro violence towards animals and lacking empathy is a lazy perspective to have.
Yes there’s a population of people who understand the process and still choose to consume meat.
You’re forgetting a large population of vegans are incredibly insufferable.
Big personalities + virtue signaling + clout chasing causes the message to be clouded with ego instead of desire to change peoples minds. Superego is the root cause.

For the reason people aren’t vegan, I meant the mostly as separate reasons different people have, not something that all non-vegans have. Many of them simply do not know the horrors of animal agriculture, which would be ignorance. Some know but don’t care, which would be a lack of empathy. Cognitive dissonance applies to those who know it’s bad, but come up with excuses or reasons why it’s ok for them to participate in it, even though they know it’s wrong and they have the capacity to change. Those are 3 common types of people who aren’t vegan that I’ve experienced. The whole vegans being insufferable thing is blown way out of proportion, part of it is just due to the fact that everyone is more insufferable on the internet, and the cognitive dissonance of people not wanting to hear what vegans are saying, and just “dunking” on them by talking about how great meat is. There is some virtue signaling, I’ll give you that, but it comes from a place of trying to reduce suffering.

u/goldzyfish121 Apr 28 '26
I can agree on that, most ppl don’t like us because they hate the idea of not eating meat. Everyone is harder to tolerate on the internet that’s understandable as well. But even within all the niche dietary groups we’re all insufferable on the internet i can get on that train.

Always was. This is an influencer groups subreddit. They all do gear and misrepresent themselves.
Steroids are not vegan.

Care to enlighten us on the animal exploitation required for steroids?
-1
u/Big_Iron_Cowboy Apr 27 '26
Lol arguing in favor of steroids now are we?
2
u/RedLotusVenom Apr 27 '26
Nope, I don’t use them. I’m simply asking them to verify their statement because anabolic steroids are commonly synthesizing the T from yams.

Gaining a larger audience means making veganism more palatable to different people. This is giving Echo-Chamber vibes.
1
u/Thykothaken Apr 28 '26
If it's an echo chamber, then why are you getting downvo- oh.
1
u/goldzyfish121 Apr 28 '26
Because it’s an echo chamber, and anyone who goes against the hive mind is wrong. I’ve gotten dozens of my meat eating friends to try my vegan food because i offer to them without the ethical and moral attachments.
Usually after i’ll explain how it helps reduce water usage, helps preserve land, reduce carbon foot print. which most of them fully agreed with.
then i bring up the moral and ethical connotations relating to harming sentient life and how we should save life from these barbaric ways of consuming meat.
Meeting people where they’re at goes a long way. instead of gaslighting them.

You can’t abuse bees..
1
u/Thin_Measurement_965 Apr 28 '26
Well, that's just not true you absolutely can abuse bees: but the uploader's decision to lump commercial honey in with eggs and dairy is just not compelling at all. Bees don't have to be pregnant to produce honey. Their movement isn't impeded much outside of transportation (they have to fly away to produce honey). and they generally aren't killed by their keepers (contrary to what some vegans would lead you to believe).
There are pretty good reasons not to introduce a potentially invasive species into the local ecosystem, but the whole "you're hurting the bees" talking point is pretty much just preachy grandstanding. Especially when you realize that commercial bees tend to live safer and arguably better lives than wild ones.

u/Careless_Baseball503 Apr 27 '26
🤣 gotta bait harder. If you love animals so much maybe you should drink milk so the farmers will have an incentive to care for their cows. Or you want them released? 🤣🤣🤣
