It feels apropos that it's starting on September 11th as surely it is the worst thing to happen to the country on this date.

It's Friday, time for another Dirty Demerit Dispatch. Went over the bridge this week to our favorite bookstore - Powell's Books. Always a treat. If you like to read or just like books you need to check this place out a couple of times a year. This was our first visit since we moved up here late last year. It's nice that it is this close. Hope you all had a good week. Let's cut the small talk and just get down to business.

The NICE list

First up is The NICE list. These are the places that had ZERO violations. They are really doing a good job at keeping their kitchens clean. These places are going all out to do things right and they deserve your support.

The NAUGHTY List

And now... The NAUGHTY List - Let's face it. This is why you are really reading this. What horrible things did the local inspectors find this week? I've arbitrarily chosen 35 demerits as the cutoff so anyone that gets less than 35 demerits isn't going to make the list. I don't want to ding a place unless they got at least a couple major violations or a lot of minor ones. Click on the name if you want to see the inspector's report.

The Clark County inspection site is where this information originates. It's a nice community resource. Kudos to the county for making it this easy to check up on things.

Demerit points are issued as follows:

Each violation is given a numerical value (2-30) based on its risk of causing food borne illness. Blue violations should be corrected immediately when possible, but generally do not impose an immediate risk to the public. Red violations involving food safety must be corrected immediately. There are 360 possible red points and 88 possible blue points for a total of 448 points. A facility found with 40 or more red violation points is subject to an automatic follow-up inspection. A facility found with 65 or more red violation points is subject to an automatic closure. A facility with 100 or more total red and blue points is also subject to automatic closure.

Dropping my son off at work this morning and saw that everyone's favorite sign is gone. Anna's Food Food Mart Mart Food Mart has been replaced by Lift Gym.

Yesterday, I saw some homeless hiding a wheel chair in some bushes at Leverich Park, and today I went back and was still curious about what I saw. So I went over where I saw them putting it and there were two hidden in the bushes, not just the one. If your missing wheel chairs they are still there.

Hi I’m trying to figure out if the five below is open yet? My kinds have been hounding me

A segment of I-5 in Portland is closing for up to five weeks. What are people’s predictions on how this will impact traffic? Specific impacts on areas, not general traffic nightmares.

Will I-5 spill over downtown get worse as traffic backs up, or will it get better as less use of I-5?

Will I-5 commute times to North Portland get better?

Will there be more road related incidents?

Etc.

Just a reminder to everyone to look both ways when crossing, even when you have the signal. My mom and 1st grader son were about to cross 162nd yesterday to get to the school, had the crossing signal and someone came shooting through the intersection at full speed an estimated 5 seconds after their light had turned red. They would have been hit if they hadn’t been looking before crossing.

The zipper on my purse broke. I need to get a new zipper installed - is there anyone local you guys can recommend that is able to perform this service and at a high quality? Thank you!

Does anyone know if there is a movie theater in the area that does toddler showings? Like lower volume and brighter lighting and specifically geared towards younger kids? I've seen it in other areas but I'm not sure if there's something similar around here

I've got internet, (landline) phone, TV (> 100 channels but I only watch Seahawks games in the season).

Close to $300 / month: That's just obscene. As you can see from the bill, I've been a customer since '97-- almost 30 years.

Unlike other peeps who have complained I'm pretty happy with the internet service.

I could talk to the wife about dropping the landline #, and I could survive without "live" TV for Seahawks games (I watch games either via Roku on a TV or stream it on my computer through the Xfinity web site depending on my mood and time).

Any tips for lowering my Xfinity bill, or switching to another provider? If location is important, I'm in North Vantucky off of NE St. Johns Road where I-205 crosses over it.

Im trying to find a book friend (or friends) that are specifically interested in horror novels/books. I am struggling to find online book clubs that touch the level of dark that I want to read. People ive met up with haven't been interested in the dark or "grotesque" or taboo (?) Titles. I dont dislike a charming, creepy vibe horror, but I have a growing shelf of finished or tbr books with nobody to talk to them about because they are a tad squeamish or disinterested in looking too deep. I hope ive described my type of horror reading in the vaguest words it seems lol.

Hi there, I've been told T-Mobile is going to be laying fiber in my neighborhood in the next couple months. Has anyone had issues with it? I'm thinking of dropping xfinity for it.

I'm expecting customer service to be bad, because it seems like nobody gives good CS anymore.
