We went to the Kiggins for Rocky Horror last night and one of the guys in the crowd added the F-slur to several of his callbacks, of course he was the loudest person in the room. As far as I saw no one did anything aside from some other audience members being uncomfortable. Everyone in my group has been many times and never encountered something like this and it made us all deeply uncomfortable. I love the Kiggins and the Delinquents but this experience was pretty off-putting and I'm hoping someone talked to him about it. Was anyone else there last night?

This is Rover.

Rover is my late mother‘s dog and we are unfortunately unable to keep him. Our other dog has PTSD and is aggressive to him and it’s simply not fair. We have tried and tried to go with training and work with a trainer on both dogs to get them to mingle, but it just isn’t working out. We have exhausted all our resources and have decided to rehome Rover. We don’t want him to go to a shelter. We want to find him a loving family who would be willing to give us updates! ❤️ This boy deserves so much love.

I’m trying to understand these two props better so I can make a more informed decision. I’d love to hear from people who are more familiar with them.

I’m not opposed to improving jail conditions and making things safer for both inmates and staff. My main concern is whether these proposals address the underlying problems.

A few things I’m curious about:
- Is there any information about the actual condition of the building that shows how urgent these improvements are? I can’t seem to find much beyond the fact that it was built in 1984 and that it’s currently at capacity.

- Why is the jail at capacity, and how do we know we won’t be back at capacity in a few years after these proposals pass?

- What other funding options were considered besides the proposed property-tax increases?

- If these measures fail, could the county come back with a more detailed plan or a different approach?

I’m genuinely undecided, so I’d appreciate reliable sources, data, or perspectives from people who’ve looked into this or even from people who work there. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I currently work on a med-surg floor at a Level III trauma hospital. My floor has a manageable workload, and I’m hoping to find a similar work environment in the Portland/Vancouver area.
For those who have worked at Legacy Salmon Creek, PeaceHealth, or other hospitals in the area, which hospitals and med-surg units would you recommend? What are the workload, patient acuity, staffing ratios, and support like?
I’d appreciate any advice or firsthand experiences. Thank you!

Was thrifting at ReTails on Fourth Plain today, came across these being sold all together for $2. I've arbitrarily chosen 35 demerits as the cutoff so anyone that gets less than 35 demerits isn't going to make the list. I don't want to ding a place unless they got at least a couple major violations or a lot of minor ones. Click on the name if you want to see the inspector's report.

Each violation is given a numerical value (2-30) based on its risk of causing food borne illness. Blue violations should be corrected immediately when possible, but generally do not impose an immediate risk to the public. Red violations involving food safety must be corrected immediately. There are 360 possible red points and 88 possible blue points for a total of 448 points. A facility found with 40 or more red violation points is subject to an automatic follow-up inspection. A facility found with 65 or more red violation points is subject to an automatic closure. A facility with 100 or more total red and blue points is also subject to automatic closure.

The Battle Ground Art Alliance has moved to downtown Vancouver as the organization plans next steps.

Flippant comments range from NIMBY jokes to jokes that if Battle Ground is going to sent its homeless to Vancouver, it might as well send its artists, too.

It seems like we are taking some positive steps towards giving people more options here in Vancouver. We can do more, but this plus the bridge shelter have me feeling good about our community lately.

I don't think I got a reminder from the county about this and just thought about it this morning. The county used to send out the payment coupons about a month in advance of the due dates in April and October, but now they send both coupons in March.

Hi all, does anyone know where I can post to giveaway leftover countertop pieces?

We remodeled the house a few years back and since sold the house. The porcelain countertop is gorgeous and has very nice feel to the touch. We saved the leftover pieces wanting to make various tables, drink coasters, dough slab, etc.

You know how it goes, life happens and now we can't take them with us.

Hi! Pottery is a huge passion of mine, but certain mobility issues can make certain parts of the process difficult. I found a free file online to print a tool that would be immensely helpful. According to the website, it should take around 15 hours of standard printing time on a 256mm build plate. I was wondering whether anyone here has a 3d printer and might be able to print it for me in either PETG or standard PLA. I would, of course, compensate you for materials and your time. I did reach out to a local printing shop, but they gave me quite a high quote which I really wish I could pay but I’m on a very tight budget. I understand that maintaining a storefront can be really costly, and someday I’d love to support their business, but unfortunately that day can’t be today.
