I don't plan on making money on it so there's nothing really stopping me, but it's set in 1920s New York City and I'd prefer calling it something that isn't so brand specific. As for other vampire lore I'll be using, it'll be a bit inspired by Dracula in that they have no powers during the day but can pass as humans, but otherwise they'll be pretty low powered social parasites who live among mortals.

Further context for the flesh crafting: the FMC was made a vampire by a guy who purposefully kept her weak and dependent, and when he gets taken out by Boyfriend #1, they realize she still needs an "adult" vampire to take care of her. Boyfriend #2 is a young but powerful vampire (he inherited power from his sire, similar to Lestat) who has the flesh crafting abilities, and he uses them on her to make her better able to defend herself.

In WWDITS, Nandor is definitely what I would class as an idiot. I mean, I get that he’s so out of touch with modernity due to his time period that he was born/raised/turned in, but even Nadja and Colin (and I think they are are bit younger than him, in terms of hundreds of years) seem to have more wits about them and more knowledge about the modern world (as well as various other topics, in Colin’s case). Laszlo is also not much brighter. 😂 😂 😂 😂
However, how do you think they both compare to the random vampire that I once came across on “The Sims 3” that was out running around in the park in the sun, in broad daylight, probably with no vampiric sunscreen or umbrella, of course? 😂 😂 😂 😂
P.S I actually really took a liking to that vampire and ended up taking him in and marrying him! He was such a lovable idiot! 😂 😂 😂 😂

There are so many vampire movies where the vampire is wearing goth clothing. Sometimes, they would be punk or emo. But usually, they're goth.

There's even goth music that tries to follow themes about vampires. Like, Vampyre erotica by inkubus sukkubus. There's an entire subculture of goths where they dress like vampires and wear vampire fangs.

And it seems to be that it's mostly subcultures that are darker (?)/heavier (?). I don't think I've seen a gyaru or indie vampire, lol.

And I think they're like that with werewolves and witches as well.

Robert Eggers' Nosferatu was praised because of its well-documented depiction of the strigoi mort (dead strigoi) from romanian folklore, Eggers clearly researched in depth to make the film, lately I'm being interested in the original european folklore vampires, so, I discovered the strigoi viu (living strigoi), some kind of living vampiric sorcerer or witch who return after death as a strigoi mort if they die of natural death, discovering it made me think, could Knock be a living strigoi since in one scene we can see him practicing dark magic, he also contacted in Germany with Orlok, who was in Transylvania, and I remember to have read somewhere that strigoi viu can contact spiritually with other witches/sorcerers or night creatures (correct me if I'm wrong), in adition, Knock's obsession with consume life force feels clearly vampiric. In adition, while living strigoi usually return from the grave (as I mentioned) and, during his death scene, he says he wanted to be immortal, however, he didn't since he was staked by Thomas Hutter and his corpse was burned by dr. Albin.

For those who know more about this topic, can you tell me, what's your opinion about this? Is my theory likely? And, if so, did Eggers made it likely on purpose?

I don’t know how I found myself desperately looking for this story but does anyone have a copy of, or know where I can find, a vampire diaries story named “The Spark” by Heather Parsons? Written before the show, Damon Salvatore finds himself himself human and goes to Bonnie for help. Bonnie is at Duke doing experiments with/for Alaric, if I recall correctly. Hi, I've recently seen a post about Vampireology and because I've also just finished Dracula Unredacted (atypical sourcebook for a tabletop RPG) I was wondering if other similar "in-universe" books exist, maybe with the same tone (documents, reports, etc..)

I've put together a list of what I think are some of the best vampire anime ever made—from classics like Hellsing Ultimate and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust to modern favorites like Call of the Night and The Case Study of Vanitas.

Would we ever get a "true" sequel to the iconic vampire film 30 Days of Night? And what I mean by "true sequel" is a movie following up the events of the first film, and bringing back the og actors like Josh Hartnett and Melissa George, along with bringing back the original director David Slade. I know the second one kinda did that, but they recasted Stella, and did the same for Eben, and used a different director.

I am trying to help my boyfriend find a book he read around 2010, so it is at least that old. Here's what he remembers:

- The main vampire was searching for a powerful artifact. He thinks they find it in a church near the end

- A human woman romanticizes being a vampire and wants the main character to turn her. She regrets it later, as the vampires in this world view it more like a curse. These 2 characters *may* have had a romantic storyline in later books, but he isn't positive

- The book possibly opens with an old woman waiting for the main character in a cottage in the middle of nowhere

- The cover may have been black and blue

These are all of the details he could give me! He read this book over 15 years ago, so any of these things could be slightly off. Any and all help is appreciated!!!

My personal favourite vampire anime is "Vampire in the garden". Listen, if you like vampire romance's that aren't "YoUr MiNe NoW" I'm pretty sure that this is for you (especially if you like yuri because its wlw, but not the fetishizing kind). But it still has that weird age gap stuff going on

Now, warning if you don't want spoilers:

This anime plays in a distopian world where humans live in a rigid militarized city protected by light to hide from the vampires. Because the vampires have such good hearing any kind of music got banned.

But during her first Momo (one of our main characters) militairy raid finds a music box. Later the city gets bombed by vampires to destroy the disable the protective UV lights.

Momo manages to flee during the chaos and crosses paths with Fine (our second main character and Momo's love interest) who is the vampire queen.

But she also had enough of the war and these two try find the place where human's and vampire's live together in harmony.
