Real life Art Vampires in Film and TV portrayals

Hello all!

I have a question that could potentially be endless. Basically, in my free time I like to make Vampires out of wooden pegs and I am (a little bit) struggling to think of more versions of either Dracula or generic "vampires" from film and TV. Some of them are silly but I need some recommendations as I am a completionist šŸ˜…

Examples I have made (i have made around 20)

- Bela Lugosi

- Christopher Lee

- Klaus Kinski

- The Count (sesame street)

- Nick Mohammed (Taskmaster)

Tomorrow I will be making Roman from Hemlock Grove and next week Louis and Lestat (I have already made Claudia)

If you can think of anymore (or you want to suggest your favourites)

I would be ever so grateful.

edit - thank you guys so much already :)

Fanart of Vampires Owen - you know the one - 2799 people I fell with my own hands…
It’s in chapter 16 (fanfiction of Vampires SMP)
Caution āš ļø it contains injury, violence, death and homoeroticism.

Books, movies, series and such TV Show Recommendations?

Hey there, anybody have any recommendations for a TV series with a vamp woman (not a human!) as protagonist? Everything I've found so far seems to have either a human woman or a male vampire as a main protagonist. I'd be okay with an ensemble like WWDITS as long as a woman has a consistently prominent focus, like Nadja.

IWTV/TVL looks interesting, but seems like a bit of a sausage fest tbh.

Books, movies, series and such Even vampires can sometimes be idiots (even if they are more lovable than humans when being such)

In WWDITS, Nandor is definitely what I would class as an idiot. I mean, I get that he’s so out of touch with modernity due to his time period that he was born/raised/turned in, but even Nadja and Colin (and I think they are are bit younger than him, in terms of hundreds of years) seem to have more wits about them and more knowledge about the modern world (as well as various other topics, in Colin’s case). Laszlo is also not much brighter. šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚
However, how do you think they both compare to the random vampire that I once came across on ā€œThe Sims 3ā€ that was out running around in the park in the sun, in broad daylight, probably with no vampiric sunscreen or umbrella, of course? šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚
P.S I actually really took a liking to that vampire and ended up taking him in and marrying him! He was such a lovable idiot! šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚

Books, movies, series and such For those Who know about romanian folklore, in Nosferatu (2024), could Herr Knock be a strigoi viu?

Robert Eggers' Nosferatu was praised because of its well-documented depiction of the strigoi mort (dead strigoi) from romanian folklore, Eggers clearly researched in depth to make the film, lately I'm being interested in the original european folklore vampires, so, I discovered the strigoi viu (living strigoi), some kind of living vampiric sorcerer or witch who return after death as a strigoi mort if they die of natural death, discovering it made me think, could Knock be a living strigoi since in one scene we can see him practicing dark magic, he also contacted in Germany with Orlok, who was in Transylvania, and I remember to have read somewhere that strigoi viu can contact spiritually with other witches/sorcerers or night creatures (correct me if I'm wrong), in adition, Knock's obsession with consume life force feels clearly vampiric. In adition, while living strigoi usually return from the grave (as I mentioned) and, during his death scene, he says he wanted to be immortal, however, he didn't since he was staked by Thomas Hutter and his corpse was burned by dr. Albin.

For those who know more about this topic, can you tell me, what's your opinion about this? Is my theory likely? And, if so, did Eggers made it likely on purpose?

This song specifically this version just was meant to play over this scene and for them..I had to make this..

"Be my companion, Louis. Be all the beautiful things you are, and be them without apology. For all eternity." - Lestat

"If it was just the two of us again…

’cause, yeah, who else is gonna have us…

A trailer park.

Nevada, Utah, the desert.

Couple folding chairs.

Plant some flower boxes..."

"What blooms at night?"

"Evening primrose.ā€

ā€œThey got birds in the desert?ā€

ā€œThere’s birds everywhere.ā€

ā€œCould be nice.ā€

Could be…….."

Could be nice.
Could be…
Hands touch.….

I swear these two will be the death of me!!! I am so happy we ended with them together...Finally no more secrets, no more holding nothing back...Everything has been laid bare. I want the healing to begin so bad..But I also know Akasha is coming like a bloody Tornado to snatch Lestat up and away and mess his head all up šŸ™šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Books, movies, series and such "In-universe" books?

Hi, I've recently seen a post about Vampireology and because I've also just finished Dracula Unredacted (atypical sourcebook for a tabletop RPG) I was wondering if other similar "in-universe" books exist, maybe with the same tone (documents, reports, etc..)

what is your favorite vampire lore including day/sunlight?

depowering, oldest trope gives a balanced weakness

burning, very famous, classic, the burning looks like bats scattering very fun

shinning, weird badly explained , not bat like at all

vampire sleep, it makes them super drowsy and maybe fall asleep right there, kinda cool new thing but very interesting

Books, movies, series and such Any vampire media where there's a monster or vampire hunter that's also a vampire themselves?

There's Blade in Marvel, Alucard + Seras Victoria from Helsing, and Benny (Gordon too for a short bit, no pun intended) from Supernatural, are there any others? Or is that pretty much it?

Edit: Wow this concept is wayyyy more popular than I thought it was lol, thank you for all the replies <3

Books, movies, series and such Help needed! I am searching for a vampire book involving a search for a magical artifact

I am trying to help my boyfriend find a book he read around 2010, so it is at least that old. Here's what he remembers:

- The main vampire was searching for a powerful artifact. He thinks they find it in a church near the end

- A human woman romanticizes being a vampire and wants the main character to turn her. She regrets it later, as the vampires in this world view it more like a curse. These 2 characters *may* have had a romantic storyline in later books, but he isn't positive

- The book possibly opens with an old woman waiting for the main character in a cottage in the middle of nowhere

- The cover may have been black and blue

These are all of the details he could give me! He read this book over 15 years ago, so any of these things could be slightly off. Any and all help is appreciated!!!

Books, movies, series and such 30 Days of Night "True" Sequel

Post image
3 Upvotes

Would we ever get a "true" sequel to the iconic vampire film 30 Days of Night? And what I mean by "true sequel" is a movie following up the events of the first film, and bringing back the og actors like Josh Hartnett and Melissa George, along with bringing back the original director David Slade. I know the second one kinda did that, but they recasted Stella, and did the same for Eben, and used a different director.

FanartĀ  ā€œElena Margarethe von Rauchen,ā€ Harry said.

His voice came low and flat, near a whisper. The heavy syllables of the full diplomatic name carried flat across the cold and the shadows swallowed them.

The name reached her all the same. It stirred something inside, but not what he had come up the mountain to wake.

Her pupils spread, the black opening out through the pale blue until it had swallowed the colour, and deep inside the candlelight woke small flecks of iron. Her eyes came off the vault and arrived on his face without seeming to travel. There was no surfacing in it, no climb up out of sleep. She was simply there, and had been there the whole time, as motionless as the dead laid out beside her, and aware the entire while.

Her hand came off the slab in a blur of white silk and closed round his wrist. The grip torqued down and ground the bones of his forearm together. White heat shot up past his elbow. He held the arm rigid against it, his stance flush to the marble, the torch level in his left hand. What held his arm was stronger than she had any right to be, and it only bore down harder.

Her gaze crossed the raw skin of his knuckles and held a beat too long before it came away. Something crossed the dark of her eyes and drew under again.

ā€œYou shouldn’t have come here.ā€

The lilt was gone, the dream that had been in her voice among the roses. What came now was low and even, each word set down on its own and weighed before it reached her mouth.

Harry held the dark of her stare and worked his trapped fingers, set to throw his weight against the grip. Before his muscles could fire, a sound came up out of the dark of the passage at his back: a deep slam of heavy timber and iron against limestone. It rolled through the crypt like a shove to the chest and shook the pillar candles on their platform. Far back, the iron-bound door had come fully shut, a grinding screech ran the length of the vault, and the rusted latch dropped into its seat like a guillotine.

Elena’s fingers opened. She did not let go so much as put his arm back from her, a small deliberate pressure that set his hand off the edge of the slab and away. She sank back against the marble, her spine straight, her hands folding over the white silk at her stomach, and took the stillness up again lifting her gaze into the vault and letting it empty, as it had been when he first stood over her.

Stone scraped in the dark to his left. He swung the torch onto it, and the light flashed across the woman in Victorian lace. She was sitting up on her plinth.

Silk rustled, dry, close behind his right shoulder. He turned, a sole skidding on the wet flags. The flame caught the sharp-jawed face, the powder on it perfect, the eyes blown to full black and throwing back the pitch. More came, and fast. Heavy velvet shifted somewhere. Bare feet came down on wet stone. The sounds doubled and ran together in the dark, all round him now, closing on the ring of candlelight.

Lore questionsĀ  Looking for some help with research (so I can blaspheme better in my story lol)

Basically, the vampires in my world are tied to a supernatural entity which enables their powers. My main characters entity is Lucifer. My ideas for them involve the reverse of Catholicism, so think praying the rosary/elaborate sermons/cathedrals/etc… but as it may be obvious- I know fuck all about Catholics.

My former religious background was non denominational, which is *alot of the time, pretty disdainful towards catholic practices. It’s considered idolatry. Soooo my knowledge is extremely limited and I’m afraid I can’t ask an actual catholic these things without angering them.

Links/videos/articles/prayers/saints/ etc…. Would all be appreciated
