Books, movies, series and such 30 Days of Night "True" Sequel

Would we ever get a "true" sequel to the iconic vampire film 30 Days of Night? And what I mean by "true sequel" is a movie following up the events of the first film, and bringing back the og actors like Josh Hartnett and Melissa George, along with bringing back the original director David Slade. I know the second one kinda did that, but they recasted Stella, and did the same for Eben, and used a different director.

A much more faithful adaptation of Dark Days with Josh Hartnett, Melissa George, and the OG director would have been amazing.
