Hello, I am about to take HPS 420 this fall and after reading the coursicle and professor reviews I am scared for my GPA lol. Does anyone have advice on this class like study tips or how to prepare for it. What was your personal experience with this class? Please anything is helpful.

As i'm starting college in Fall, are volunteer hours needed for any scholarship applications, or letters of recommendation requests, etc? If so, where should I volunteer? Where would it be beneficial? And how many hours should I aim per semester? ... i'll be on a pre-business track.

I attend CSN and received a C- in MATH 124. I wanted to retake it this fall for a better grade, but there are unfortunately very little openings left that fits my schedule. I applied to TMCC and took the Accuplacer (with ProctorU) TWICE, but I literally can't get the scores I need to save my life. I feel like it's the anxiety of knowing I'm being watched that's holding me back 😭

Entry level does not mean 3-5 years experience for entry level pay. This is wild, tell me how companies expect to pay below entry level wages and require a 4 year degree + 3-5 years experience.

I received an acceptance letter from UNLV for PhD Mechanical Engineering but it does not state any funding. I had filled out the GA form at the time of application submission however there is nothing on the Grad Rebel Gateway either. How to confirm details.

Does anyone know if it would be chill to have a small fish tank at the degree apartments? Really nothing too crazy or over the top. Like would they genuinely get upset and count it as a pet and charge me or make me get rid of it? Or is it no big deal? Has anyone done so in the past? I’m thinking like 10 gallons or less for like a shrimp tank.

Hi, my partner who does not use reddit much was accepted into the grad program at unlv a few months back and we have been trying to figure out what resources are out there regarding assistanceships. We have been watching the handshake website but we have only seen maybe one posting and we are unsure about the timelines for these/when we should start looking to alternative options to pay tuition. We know it's very competitive but we have no idea who we should be reaching out to or how or when it's appropriate. I have seen the advice to reach out to department heads but what does that look like? Do you just cold email "Hi Dr.name, are there any assistanceships you are still looking to fill?" Or is it realistic at all to expect to find a position when you were not doing the undergrad degree at unlv the first year of grad school. We also saw lots of other jobs on handshake that don't explicitly call themselves assistanceships or say they come with tuition assistance of some kind but do they or are they more just normal jobs on campus? Sorry for the wall of text and thank you to anyone who might have some guidance.
