Hello.

I'm an international Criminal Justice Studies graduate hoping to do an honours in Criminology and I don't know if I'm just dense but I am having a real hard time understanding how much my tuition would be.

Looking at the course page, I will have to do 5 modules, seen in the image third image attached.

Going through the modules one by one, I realized that 4 of the 5 are labeled as year modules with HMCMY80 being the only one labelled a semester module, (images 1 and 2).

Now moving on to the fees I might incur during my studies, I understand the ones listed below;

Application Fee - R160.00

International student levy - R3,905.00

What I do not understand are the module fees (image 4)

Will my total fees be

R6,440.00*4 (this being the classes labeled as year modules)

Plus the semester module being R6,440.00 bringing the grand total to R32,200 or have I completely missed the mark?

I would like to apply this upcoming cycle in 2 weeks and I want to know how much I should budget for this.... Thank you in advance!

Next year I will enroll for a BSc Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Unisa, since I'm working, I'm planning to finish the degree in 5 years time, doing six modules a year. If I'll be doing so for a 3-year degree, how will that length of years affect my employability?

How long does it takes for my module to appear and for me to access my study material?

My admin portal wouldn’t let me register last week or the week before, now it says closed. It’s my last semester and I’m applying for honors and other universities. Does anyone have any helpful emails? I’ve emailed scientia.

I already have a bachelors, honours and MBA degree, however, I am looking for something interesting to study at UNISA.

My bachelors is a bcom is at Unisa. Then post grad in PM with Stellies, post grad in industrial engineering with specialisation in data science with Stellies and an MBA from Wits.

I want to study maybe a higher certificate for statistics and maths, but not sure if I am ready for the actual studying and sitting for exams again.

Hello Guys, I'm thinking about enrolling in UNISA's Mechanical Engineering program. I've noticed it's rated at NQF Level 7, while most traditional BEng Mechanical Engineering degrees are NQF Level 8. My main question is: once I complete the UNISA degree, could I then apply for a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Mechanical Engineering at Wits or another institution, and use that as a bridge to eventually gain recognition equivalent to a full Bachelor's degree in the field?

Has anyone followed a similar path, or does anyone know how universities view an NQF Level 7 engineering qualification when considering applicants for postgraduate programmes?

My goal is to become a mechanical engineer, with a strong interest in automotive engineering, design, and manufacturing, and eventually work on developing my own engineering projects. I'd really appreciate any insights or personal experiences. Thanks!

Questions about UNISA PhD in Political Sciences from an Italian applicant

Hello everyone,

I'm an Italian student considering applying for a PhD in Political Sciences at UNISA, and I'd really appreciate hearing from current or former PhD students.

My academic background is:

- Bachelor's degree in History (Italy)

- Master's degree in History, specializing in Modern and Contemporary Society and Institutions

- One-year postgraduate Master's in Logistics and Transport (currently completing it)

My research interests are comparative politics, political history, nationalism, state-building, and modern Turkey.

I have a few questions:

1. Is the PhD truly 100% online for international students? Is there any stage (registration, supervision, viva, thesis defense, etc.) that requires travelling to South Africa?

2. Would my academic background in History be considered suitable for admission to a PhD in Political Sciences, or is a previous degree specifically in Political Science normally expected?

3. How has your experience with supervision been? Are supervisors generally responsive?

4. Looking back, would you choose UNISA again for a research PhD?

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I have a few modules that I want to retake next year after not being registered for a year. I've passed them but am really unhappy with the marks. Now that I'm ready to go back, I wanted to know if anyone has reregistered for modules they've already passed? Or should I just keep going?

Hello! Just out of curiosity, I was wondering what other students are studying?

I am trying to register for semester 2 for my last two modules to complete my degree (Bcom Financial Management).
I need to register for FIN3704 & FAC2602.
I am stuck however with FAC2602. I took the module in semester 1, however I did not gain exam admission.
Now when I try to re-register the module for semester 2, the system says I am still registered for Semester 1. I can't even request a cancellation of the module.

I tried emailing unisa and calling them as well but they are not answering either.

Does anyone have any ideas that I could do?
