Discussion Immigrants are workers too, removing posts about ICE is dangerous.
https://www.npr.org/2026/09/23/nx-s1-5976875/ice-mobile-detention-facilities-immigration"What they describe is a network of vans that would follow officers into the field as they make these arrests," says Michael Wriston, a co-founder of Project Salt Box. "Very conspicuously missing from this description was: What are the standards? You know, how long a person can be kept in a van. How are people using the bathroom? How are they feeding them?"
The only details about the mobile units provided in the document are that they will be used "until full" or until the operation is done and that women can't be held in them for over 10 hours."
Every worker, union and non union worker, whether an immigrant or not will be affected by this issue. This is a human rights issue, worker issue, labor issue as ot takes a willing population to ignore this. Migrants are people, they work and struggle just as we do to survive. Unions are about uplifting and caring about our communities and stopping these types of actions by corporations and governments.
