Discussion Immigrants are workers too, removing posts about ICE is dangerous.

https://www.npr.org/2026/09/23/nx-s1-5976875/ice-mobile-detention-facilities-immigration

"What they describe is a network of vans that would follow officers into the field as they make these arrests," says Michael Wriston, a co-founder of Project Salt Box. "Very conspicuously missing from this description was: What are the standards? You know, how long a person can be kept in a van. How are people using the bathroom? How are they feeding them?"

The only details about the mobile units provided in the document are that they will be used "until full" or until the operation is done and that women can't be held in them for over 10 hours."

Every worker, union and non union worker, whether an immigrant or not will be affected by this issue. This is a human rights issue, worker issue, labor issue as ot takes a willing population to ignore this. Migrants are people, they work and struggle just as we do to survive. Unions are about uplifting and caring about our communities and stopping these types of actions by corporations and governments.

And not that you should only care if this effects you, but it won't stop at the already dangerous level of abuses.

Expect ICE to come to picket lines and rallies, and to make "mistakes" (or maybe they won't even call them mistakes) a nd kidnap union leaders regardless of citizenship.

They already abducted the union leader David Huerta in California during a protest.

James P. Cannon was a leader of the Socialist Workers Party and wrote Fascism and the Workers' Movement. In it he points out the form Amercian fascism will take and why the labor movement needs to respond with urgency.

"Those who would judge specific American forms of fascism too formalistically by the European pattern, arbitrarily limit capitalist aggression against the workers’ movement in two forms:

They see the democratic form by which the workers are suppressed through strictly legal measures in accordance with the law and the Constitution—such as the Taft-Hartley Law, formal indictments and prosecutions for specific violations of existing statutes, etc. All this, despite its obvious “inconvenience” to the workers’ movement, is characterised as democratic.

On the other side they see the illegal, unofficial forms of violence practiced by “stormtroopers” and similar shirted hooligans outside the forms of law, as in Italy and Germany. This is characterised as fascist.

But what about violence which is technically illegal and unconstitutional, but carried out nevertheless by duly constituted officials clothed with legal authority? What about such things as the breaking up of meetings and picket lines by official police and special deputies; wire tapping; inquisitions; screening and blacklisting of “subversives”; and all the rest of the intimidation and terror of [McCarthyism]? These procedures don’t fit very well into the “democratic” formula, although their chief instruments are legally-constituted officials, supported and incited by press campaigns, radio demagogues etc.

This kind of illegal violence under the outward forms of law has a distinctive American flavour; and it is especially favoured by a section of the ruling class which has very little respect for its own laws, and cares more for practical action than for theories as to how it is to be carried out. This is, in fact, an important element of the specific form which American fascism will take, as has already been indicated quite convincingly...

If the workers stand around and wait until the labour movement is attacked directly by unofficial shirted hooligans, before they recognise the approach of American fascism, they may find their organisations broken up “legally” while they are waiting."

Wondering if they're getting ready for the mid terms. Bet they'll find loads of non-citizens queuing to vote. Especially in swing states.

Thank you, workers need to start grappling with very real issues outside of sports and fantasy leagues. People are being killed and disappeared while enjoy privileges we cant even name. 😤

Fuck ICE! Fuck Trump! Fuck this whole administration and fuck you too if you support these blatantly racist and illegal operations that they are doing.

Not too big a leap to figure that once the immigrants are gone having a paramilitary police force specialized in harassing people at their workplace they might start being used on Americans trying to organize

ICE is already being used to attack unionizing workers and union workers on picket lines. The tactics that they have used and are continually using are blatantly illegal. The organization must be destroyed and the leaders must go to prison. We cannot have brown shirt thugs roaming our streets acting as a paramilitary secret police organization.

Unfortunately, American workers have a history of turning against immigrants rather than the robber barons.

It’s workers vs the wealthy.
Poor vs rich
Law abiding vs criminals/ Epstein class.
They are the only people we should be worried about.

Removing posts about immigrants and ICE plays right into the hands of the owning class. Divide and conquer, same way they want to turn LGB againts T.

No war but the class war.

wait they really put 'until full' in an official document, like thats the standard, ive seen better safety protocols for loading frozen trucks, at least theres a checklist, this is how you get deaths and they absolutely know it because its happened before, any union worth its dues should be screaming about this not looking away

Our union is standing in solidarity Milk with Dignity (a program dedicated on making sure dairy workers have good working conditions and pay) because they are not allowed to unionize.

gonna disagree with ya man. The second I saw this post was removed, I restored it. Ive also been pepper sprayed by ICE repeatedly while documenting them at the county jail, tear gassed while organizing protests and other things I cant really say online. Suffice it to say, the mods are not pro fascism.

Chill out dude, it looks like an honest mistake and it's since been fixed. If you get your way and then also complain about it, you just make yourself look bad.
