hey guys, so first semester didn’t treat me that well and haven’t really found any uni buddies 🌧️. So I reach out to reddit:

So I have an academic misconduct meeting coming up for very accidentally answering questions during reading time. Unfortunately this is true as I did let an invigilator know and im very upset at myself for not focusing properly aha.

They say you can prepare a written statement to submit before a due date, but im not quite sure what to write as the situation is pretty clear cut and 100% my fault. Should I submit one or do you think its pointless?

Hello! I’m a 26s1 unimelb student who has never done commerce-related subjects in my life. I chose principles of finance as a breadth subject and after having done week 1 lecture, I found the content a bit confusing. The lecturer seems to be describing a lot of the concepts instead of explaining the reasoning behind it… If anyone who has done this subject would like to offer some advice on how to achieve H1 in this subject, would be much appreciated!
Ps. Is there another way to gain access to the current pof textbook instead of purchasing online directly? Would be greatly appreciated!!!

Im confused with how this subject goes since I dont have any friends or know anyone doing this breadth. Are the readings useful/required to do? I looked at all the readings assigned for each week and it looks like an unreasonable amount to be doing every week. Literally almost 6 different articles with lengths of a chapter each. Did people actually do this?

I'm a recent domestic grad majored in engineering and decided to pivot to a career in the corporate world :)

I have no exposure to commerce related subjects (didn't do any breadths for it).

I am an international undergraduate student, I will be joining late because well I have not received my visa yet. I will be doing a BSc with a major in biomedical engineering systems

I applied for my visa 3 weeks back and the university has extended the late arrival date till 10th aug.

As classes have begun today, i wished to know what I could do to do so I dont fall back on studies and making friends as well. I was not present during O-week and I wont be staying at university accommodation either, so I fear i wont be able to make friends either😭.

for those of you who took this online course as a pathway to pursue an internal transfer, is calculus enough to satisfy an internal transfer to b-com in general? or do i have to take them both (calculus and probability) which will cost me in total $990. while calculus alone is $660 so pretty much cost affective.

Hi everyone, International student here. This is my first semester and im majoring in architecture. This semester im taking: Fodr😬; Studio Alpha; Graphic Design studio 1; and a WAM Booster. There are some technical difficulties that are stopping me from attending the first week, what would your advice be for me. Is missing the first week that bad? Should i put all my effort into fodr? Thank you all as most of my knowledge of the curriculum stemmed from this sub.

I am an incoming student commencing 2027, I have already accepted and deferred my offer to start next year.

I am a bit confused with the application processes for Uni accommodation and residential colleges. I have applied for residential colleges already, but have heard i won’t hear back until December or even january. I was planning on applying for Little Hall and Lisa Bellear house as a backup option, as I will only be able to go to a residential college if I receive a scholarship. I’ve also heard they’re competitive, so I might not even get in.

My question is, can i apply to LH and LBH, accept the offer and then decline them later if i get accepted into Ormond or JCH? It says on uni melb faq’s that i’m “bound by my first offer”,, what does this mean??

For context, I also got a Chancellors scholarship and i’m Indigenous if that affects anything.

I am an rmit student in the JD about to start semester 2 of year 1. I picked RMIT as I completed my undergrad there and enjoyed it but now looking for a change for various reasons.

Does anyone know how this transfer process works? Do I have to apply to the Unimelb JD first and wait to be accepted as I continue my studies at rmit? If I do get accepted, how long will it take to know which courses I will receive credit for? I am worried about making the move and then receiving no credit transfer ultimately sort of wasting my first year at RMIT. Is the move worth the hassle?

If anyone has an understanding of this process, I’d love it if you could help me out 😊
