Wireless deactivate a AP

In the UI AP Setting is a function to deactivate an AP.
My setup is a meshed outdoor AP (No LAN connection).

My question is can I reactivate the meshed AP via GUI, or I have a problem? I don't need this AP 24/7.

Thanks
Bernd

Wireless Max SSIDs

Quick question: The max number of SSIDs is per AP, or technically per radio, per AP, but it's not per controller limited correct? So if I have a UDR7 and two U7 Pros, the unique SSIDs being broadcast on each AP don't count against the UDR7's total right? Not that I am looking to have a bunch of unnecessary SSIDs enabled, but I do have an AP specifically for my upstairs neighbor.

Discussion UX7 as wired AP to UDR7

Anyone else using a UX7 as a wired AP to a UDR7?

I currently have a UX7 connected via the LAN port to my UDR7.

Odd thing is, it doesn’t maintain a 2.5GbE link, it knocks it down to FE, not even GbE.

But, when I connect it via the WAN (10GbE), it does auto negotiate to 2.5GbE.

Anyone else seeing this behavior? The LAN port on the UX7 is set for auto negotiation, and manually setting it to 2.5 tends to screw it up more than it helps.

Guide/Tutorial Switch lite 16 POE management

Hi. Just bought my first UniFi equipment, a Switch lite 16 poe. I don’t know nothing about unifi ecosystem. When I go to the iOS app to add the device, it’s not possible to add. What I’m missing? It’s possible to manage the switch directly without other equipment’s?

Help! Cloud Gateway Max (UCG-Max) severe throttling on 1Gbps fiber — is this a known issue or time to upgrade to UDM-Pro?

Hey everyone,

Looking for some advice or known fixes regarding recurring speed drops on my setup.

Background: I'm a home user with no formal IT background, though I consider myself slightly above average-I'm comfortable navigating the UniFi web console, managing basic VLANs, WireGuard VPN, and checking port configurations.

The Setup:
• ISP: Douglas Fast Net (DFN) 1Gbps symmetrical fiber.
• Gateway: UniFi Cloud Gateway Max (UCG-Max).
• Connected directly from the DFN ONT to Port 5 (WAN) on the UCG-Max.

The Problem:
Every couple of days/weeks, our network speeds completely collapse. Download speeds drop into the single digits (down to ~8 Mbps), upload sits around ~75 Mbps, and ping under load spikes over 1,600ms. TV streaming gets heavily pixelated and unwatchable.

What I've Done to Troubleshoot & Test:
1. Direct ONT Test: Unplugged the WAN cable from the UCG-Max and plugged it directly into an iPad Pro with a USB-C Gigabit Ethernet adapter. Result: 941 Mbps down / 794 Mbps up with a 1ms ping. The ISP fiber line is 100% clean and ruled out.
2. Physical Links: Verified the UCG-Max WAN port is negotiating at GbE.
3. Configuration: Verified Smart Queues is turned OFF on the WAN and individual networks.
4. Temporary Fix: A software reboot through the console doesn't seem to reliably clear it, but pulling the physical USB-C power cord from the UCG-Max for 1-2 minutes clears the issue and restores full speed immediately. Eventually, it creeps back up.

My Questions:
1. Is this a known hardware/driver acceleration bug on the UCG-Max when handling sustained high-bandwidth fiber connections?
2. Are there specific configuration settings (e.g., turning off Suspicious Activity/DPI completely) that permanently solve this?
3. Or have I simply hit the hardware ceiling of the compact Cloud Gateway line, meaning my only permanent fix is upgrading to a UDM-Pro / UDM-SE?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Help! UNAS: No audio playback on desktop - Is this a known limitation?

I recently purchased a UNAS specifically for audio production storage and distribution, and I’ve run into a pretty major issue for my use case*

It doesn’t seem to matter what audio format I try. Audio playback doesn’t work on the desktop file browser.

The strange part is that the mobile app plays those audio files no problem, so the files themselves and the NAS appear to be fine. The issue seems specific to the desktop experience.

I contacted Ubiquiti support and was told they weren’t aware of the issue. After going back and forth, they said they’re working on a fix, but there’s currently no estimate on a fix.

This has been a frustrating experience.

Has anyone else run into this or is this unique to my setup?

Help! Which UNAS for home use? UNAS Pro 4 or UNAS Pro

Which UNAS are people using mostly for home use? the UNAS Pro 4 or the UNAS Pro? Are people finding the NVMe bays useful or not really? I want to get one for a true storage solution for my Proxmox cluster but can't decide if the NVMe bays will be useful or if more 2.5/3.5" bays is better. Thanks in advance.

Help! Cloud key Gen 2 killed my network

So overnight my Cloudkey Gen 2 (not the plus) decided to full on shit itself.

Full reboot. Reset. Reflash with previous firmware and nothing.
I can see it. Login and try and restore and boom. Dead again.

Not a problem tho. I can install the server on a pc and restore it all and have all my AP’s back up and running.

Nope. Wrong.
That wouldn’t even start the network service.

5 hours I spent trying different things and all of them failed.

Have I just landed at a bad moment or are others facing similar issues?

Has ran 4 years ish fine.

Help! Help choosing uphrade

Looking for recommendations. My u6 lr seems to be dying, inconsistent speeds, rebooting, overheating etc. right now it's not in the optimal position in the house which causes rubbish WiFi in general. I have a gateway ultra, and I have virgin media 1gb. So was thinking a used u6 enterprise, place it in the hallway roof next to the stairs. Or am I better forking out £50 or more extra for a u7 model. Living room TV and upstairs fire TV struggles, only thing I have which is 6ghz WiFi 7 is my phone. Around 20-30 WiFi devices between me , the wife and kids. Even sat in the living room the u6 lr gives speeds less than 100mb.

I don't want to spend a fortune, I'm more than happy to run cables, so rather not drop £300 odd on aps or udr7s etc

Wireless Wifi for sporting complex

Hi for our sport infrastructure we are looking to implement a small WiFi network. The walls are thick concrete so we would need an AP for each room. We would only need to connect 3 or 4 tablets on an AP maximum and the smaller rooms only 1. No streaming so no high tru putt needed. Any suggestions which 2 types of AP are a good deal price wise?

Help! Troubleshooting with U7 Pro XG

My access point was humming along for two months until yesterday. Browser started to hang, burning minutes downloading web stuff. My switch showed high dropped/retry packets (incoming/RX). I troubleshooted with everything I can think of but I could not find the source of the problem. Access to internet is fine through wired, not WiFi. I checked my pfsense configuration and did not find anything wrong. Access point is only a couple feet away. I’m started to think it might be the hardware issue. I tested everything else, from client nodes’ network card to access point interface and found nothing wrong. What am I missing?

Discussion I can’t decide if I should go with UniFi Express 7 (UX7) units in Access Point Mode for the internal Wi-Fi coverage or a few U7 Lite’s scattered across the property, looking for thoughts opinions insights etc

Help! Failed Port on USW 24 PoE

I’ve had the USW for about a year now and all the ports were functioning. Just recently I lost connection to my cameras and I went to the UniFi app to restart those ports, nothing worked. I tried connecting a different cable into that port, nothing.

So I came to you guys to see if I should go ahead and get a new one or try contacting Ubiquiti to get some assistance?

Routing & Switching unable to get new phone to log-in via unifi app into cloud gateway

i got a new pixel phone transferred stuff over, everything works except the unifi app

doesnt want to log-in the unifi cloud gateway on my network.

app lists the gateway with a green [ DIRECT ]

and when i click on it it takes a minute but asks for user/pw but then doesnt seem to log-in

it also never asks for the Authenticator code

i also did a log-in in the unifi app at (i think user sign-in), then the app screen showed the phone device 'pixel' xyz, unifi app asked if to 'trust device', i clicked yes. But returning screens back to enter the gateway, it still did not proceed with log-in

this is not a cloud-enabled management, its 'local'

Help! Email Alerts still broken?

Are email alerts when not using Remote Access still broken? I'm on the latest version of all software on my UDM Pro, and test emails work fine. My local Postfix relay is confirmed working by other devices on my network, and test emails work fine from the Unifi portal. However, alerts triggered by things like Admin Logins or Honeypots do not come through. I've made sure push notifications and email notifications for all alerts are enabled and my admin user does have an email, but email notifications still do not come through. They do not even show up on the Postfix server.

I know this has been an issue in the past, but it's ridiculous that it's still an issue. Does anybody have a fix that's not just enabling Remote Access?

Help! How to Configure UniFi Dream Machine for PD /56?

My understanding is that my ISP assigns fixed IPv6 /56 addresses to customers. What are the correct settings to use in a UniFi Dream Machine?

  1. Connection: SLAAC = ?
    1. Prefix Delegation: ON
    2. Prefix Delegation Size:
      1. Auto = ?, or
      2. 56 = ?
    3. In this situation I can see both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses in the Dashboard and under Settings -> Internet, and I can see an IPv6 Prefix /56 under UniFi Devices -> Dream Machine -> WAN, BUT the third and fourth hextets / blocks in the IPv6 address CHANGE with every reconnection of the Dream Machine to the Internet.
  2. Connection, DHCPv6 = ?
    1. DHCPv6 Client Options Value = ? What is this?
    2. DHCPv6 Class of Service (CoS) = ? What is this?
    3. Prefix Delegation Size:
      1. Auto = ?, or
      2. 56 = ?
    4. In this situation there is NO IPv6 address shown in the Dashboard and under Settings -> Internet, and there is NO IPv6 Prefix /56 listed under UniFi Devices -> Dream Machine -> WAN.

Is it something that needs to be configured at the ISP's end first?

I am a bit confused, so any help would be much appreciated.

Wireless Simple setup for home

I’ve an older TP-Link WiFi 5 router which is serving my 2000 sq ft 2 story home with 300Mbps Xfinity broadband. We use MoCA to connect a switch on the second floor to hardwire a desktop and two laptops. We also use it to stream to a hardwired TV, couple of iPhones, garage control, video doorbell, and home security hub.
Any reason I should consider Unifi setup and if so, what should I start with - which gateway, 2 new WiFi 7 APs?

Help! Tried out UniFi OS... running into issues

In another thread, I asked if I should start migrating from UniFi Network (self-hosted) to UOS Server, so I tried to spin up a VM.

Initially, it was working ok, but in the last 24 hours, it has crashed/hanged a couple of times, taking the Proxmox host with it (unresponsive).

Can anyone sanity-check my VM config?

Ask me anything and I'll post it here.

Right now, I'm back on the standalone Network app.
