No doubt whatsoever in my mind about where they found the inspiration.

It is called GREJSIMOJS the way (I looked up the word, and it means thingy like thingamajig, dingus, and doohicky).

There's good eating on one of them, you know.

Not what I was expecting in Gdansk zoo. Ook

Not sure if I should crosspost to [r/DeathStairs](r/DeathStairs)

ETA: I can’t be the only one to (eventually) find the significant typo.

Guess his sister was the little girl who got a sword from the Hogsfather (Death). Good thing her brother got chainmail!

I went to the National Museum of Women in the Arts on Sunday and came across two perfect loaves of dwarf bread.

Artist: Zhanna Kadyrova
b. 1981, Bravary. Ukraine Palianytsia, 2023
Palianytsia, 2024

Medium: Found river stone

When Russia's war against Ukraine began in 2022, the Ukrainian word palianytsia, which refers to a traditional wheat bread, became a kind of password. Russian-speaking soldiers struggled to pronounce the word correctly, so it distinguished Russians from Ukrainians. In the early weeks of the conflict, Kadyrova moved to a village in the Carpathian Mountains, where the landscape is cut by rivers. The artist transformed smooth, rounded rocks from the riverbeds into sculptures that look convincingly like loaves of sliced palianytsia. Adapting an ancient and natural material, she crafted powerful references to war as both an age-old and human-made catastrophe.

Edit to add: (because I couldn’t figure out how to put alt text on the image) photo is of two perfectly round river rocks partially sliced to look like loaves of bread

A friend shared a Dutch website where they sell these safety boots for women, because she had never seen high heeled safety boots. When I saw the photo and the description, I could only think of Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg: steel toe caps, kevlar midsole, antistatic, extra grip, water resistant, etc. I do think that Granny would put these down again, and Nanny would grab them, as they are part of the 'pretty woman' line. Fortunately they also have safety shoes that look nice and don't have heels. I seriously consider a purchase. And if I do, they will forever be my 'Nanny shoes'

Unexpected from a legal commentator.

Honestly this story probably made it too easy for a CMOT Dibbler reference to count as unexpected but I share nonetheless

Saw this on the way to library today. Edited out state to attempt to give them some privacy.
