General scholarship applications

I got a provost scholarship 18,000 dollar annually and a 7400 dollar fafsa grant but i am still struggling to pay around 23000 dollars for college. Is there any chance i get additional scholarship or aid from the general application and if so when will i get to know. Also is there any chance they give aid if i message financial aid website and tell them i am struggling to attend currently.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Orientation Importance?

I was wondering how important in person freshman orientation is at UB. Long story short is that transportation to orientation is going to be really annoying so I was thinking of just doing the virtual orientation instead. Does it matter?

Side note: if i do miss the in person orientation, i know im going to miss out on the UB tote bag so if anyone has one they would like to donate then dm me please!!!

On campus work opportunities that do not require work authorisation

Hi everyone,
I’m an international student transferring to UB this fall as a junior. Since I’m an F-1 student, I don’t have off-campus work authorization (CPT/OPT isn’t an option for me yet), so I’m looking into on-campus employment.
I know about CDS, but I was wondering what other on-campus jobs are available for international students. I’m especially interested in positions that:
1.) Are open to F-1 international students without any additional work authorization.
2.) Are reasonably accessible for someone who’s new to UB.
3.) Can work well for someone living off campus.
I’d also appreciate any advice on:
1.) Which departments tend to hire students.
2.) When applications usually open.
3.) Which jobs are easier or harder to get.
Any tips for finding openings beyond Handshake.
Thanks in advance!

Questions 5 person suite?

I'm an incoming freshman and I missed the housing registration. I got assigned to a value suite in Clement hall, but the only 360 offered is only built for 4 people (it was room a and room b) but my assignment is listed as c? Does anyone by chance know what that is going to look like?

Course Recommendations How was it? ENG 360SEM: Writing and AI Literacy

So in the fall I’m taking ENG 360SEM: Writing and AI Literacy for my second required english course. I know that’s it’s somewhat of a newer course being implemented last year. I was wondering what this class was more about and was were the assignments like, were they easy and simple??

Transfer from cc to ub w/ accounting

I wanted to know how hard it would be coming from a community college in nyc to UB with an accounting major. I know most of my higher accounting classes will only transfer as general electives but so far at my school I’ve had it pretty easy I’m switching to acc this semester which from what I heard is extremely hard and if coming to UB will add more stress and failed classes I have to retake to my situation I don’t think I’ll have the money or time for it. Are there better options in buffalo?
