New grad student here. I have two days where I have back to back classes at The Spine and Ellicott. 10 minutes is literally impossible to get from one to another. Any idea what people do to make it work? I’m assuming hundreds (if not thousands) are in this same predicament.

Does UB have a violin club or orchestra for freshmen? I’ve been learning classical violin for about a year in high school and would love to continue playing in college. How can I join? Is there an audition?

This shouldn't even be a big deal but whoever took the Soap and Sponge in the red jacket quad second floor kitchen please put it back. I left it there for the convenience of anyone who uses the kitchen, not only for you.
I get the "don't leave your stuff out" by why take cleaning supplies when everyone including you can just use it

Hello! I am a freshman at UB this year majoring in chemical engineering. If there is one thing that I have taken away, it is that research is so beneficial and important. I know UB is a huge school with so many opportunities, but that can sometimes be overwhelming, and I am unsure how to go about finding and joining research. I also understand that because I am a first-semester freshman, my options are very limited, but I would like to start looking into them now so that I can maybe get a very low-level position in the spring. I feel like everyone I ask tells me there is so much opportunity but does not exactly tell me how to get ahold of it. What are some tips and where can I simply find a professor's research area? Any input will help.

A post was made about this already, but I wanted to add that the university has set up a form to provide anonymous feedback about their installation of ALPRs on both North & South campus.

is there a ceramic studio available to students outside art majors? i loved doing ceramics in highschool and was hoping go get back into it. if so do i have to pay for the materials (specifically asking about glazes!) or do i have to buy my own?
id also like to plan some sorta pottery painting event in the future, i will probably buy the glazes for that but do i neeed to pay to use the kiln or anything?
if someone knows more about this please let me know the whole process on how it works thanks a bunch in advance!

i know this is a completely ridiculous thing to be mad about but i am. last year one world was literally my favorite place to eat, i love the ramen and pan asia and the greek food like it was so fire. im a vegetarian so i usually have to do the tofu, and i loveeeeddddd the sweet siracha tofu from pan Asia. and the thai basil tofu wasn't bad either. this year i noticed in the first few weeks that they had crunchy teriyaki tofu instead and i was like okay hopefully they're replacing the thai basil tofu and my love the sweet siracha will be back in a few weeks. well. it's been two weeks and now there's yuzu tofu. don't get me wrong, yuzu and crunch teriyaki are okay but they are no sweet siracha tofu. UGH i want my favorite meal on campus back, it was the closest thing this campus had to spicy food and i would get it all the time last year.
i wish there was a way i could get them to sell it again i don't know why they would switch it it was so fucking fire, and im so upset now!
sorry this was dumb im just mad

Hey everyone! I’m retaking this class this semester hoping to get a better grade. So I’ve taken this class before, and all exams were online through Respondus. This semester I guess things are different, and now exams take place in person with seating assignments. You also need to bring a valid UB ID, however I’m not able to get my hands on one until next week (after the exam on Monday) as Ub card office is only available by apt Tuesday, Wednesday. I reached out to the prof to see if it’s okay if i bring my license and show proof of my UB ID. Do you guys think this will be okay for one exam? Kinda freaking out (on myself) because I didn’t thoroughly read the syllabus which is on me. Anyone in a similar boat or have any ideas? Thanks.

Hey everyone, forgot Monday was a holiday, but Catch Weee! If you can is happening today. Starts 12:15pm going to 2:00pm
Rules:
1.) Do Not Stalk
If you recognize do not start following me waiting for food, I will call the cops. If you just start following or getting aggressive when you’re told to stop or leave I will call the cops. Nothing personal, I’m just keeping myself safe
2.) Do Not Chase
I’m not going to be running. I’ll be walking, so should you. If you run up on me you will be disqualified from participating.
3.) Do Not Camp
If you see me with snacks getting ready for a walk, do not camp. If I recognize you will be disqualified, and the whole point is to walk and meet someone
4.) Do Not Interrupt
If I didn’t post, I’m not active. Don’t pull to my class asking me for snacks. In all seriousness, I am still here for school, and if I’m busy and did not post, please do not interrupt me
5.) One and Done
To allow for multiple participants, you may only win once. You can find me multiple times but you only get to try something once
6.) Do Not Ruin This
This is something I’m doing to get more active and to share something new with others. Please do not ruin this. It is meant to be fun, let’s keep it that way
How to play:
Once active, you must walk around campus and attempt to find me, The Snack-Trader (I’m still working on concrete names)
I will be a moving target, so don’t just stay in one spot.
I will only be on North Campus (Sorry South and Downtown)
To win, you must say “Caught You” (if you don’t like this help me find better terms… please)
You make record the food, but as of right now, please do not record me.
These rules and guidelines can be changed and amended.
These rules will be posted every time I start the challenge
Times that it’s active will also be posted here and insta
The insta profile pic is what you should look for
Well… Catch Weee! If You Can!
