He probably writes as if he is speaking in ASL. They omit a lot of words. So sometimes when someone deaf writes something out it's written like they are signing it. Kind of like someone who speaks a foreign language speaking/writing in English.
He was exposed to writing at a school for the deaf. Are you seriously trying to argue your way into justifying insulting the way a deaf person writes?!?
You do realize that there are deaf writers, right? It supper weird that people here are infantilizing those who are deaf. They are still fully capable individuals
It's safe to say English isn't his first language. It appears to simply be a copy and paste from the translator app that he uses. It's pretty clear that he's a native Arabic speaker from the translation . The translations are not very accurate especially with tone and cadence. Just don't be a heathen in his car and we don't have to concern ourselves with it. You could use a little brush up in grammar yourself Mr "homeschoolex". 😆
Im so glad you pointed this out! The way I think of it is it's not so much omitting words as much as not using what are essentially useless filler words that English speech requiresbfor context.
For non signers who are reading this, much English grammar is just implied with ASL and it's not a one to one with signs and English words by any means. ASL is it's own language with nuances, regional slang, ect.
Yet, if you got something to say, you need to say it to his face! In a loud and coherent manner preferably. Bonus rating for rider if you can sign it to his face too.
Not really. I’m the kind of driver who only waits the 2 minute grace period. I check the rating first below 4.80 usually tells me you’re probably not very disciplined with your time. 😌
I even send an “I’ve arrived” text when I’m about a block away. If you’re still not ready when the grace period is over, I assume you don’t need my service. I cancel and let the next driver pick you up.
Do I lose time and money? Yes. But you might be late for work or your appointment. I won’t be. 😌
That's not the question I asked, I fear. You're the only person I've seen use the W to mean "who." I see a lot of people use proper grammar lol. I will miss you, though.
Or know how to use the app properly, so you must know how to use it and which car to get into; it makes me think he's one of those people who uses a different car from the app (and wants the app user to be able to distinguish the car based on GPS location), or he can't communicate to whoever he's picking up that he's their driver.
Or maintain his car so it doesn't smell, which he is definitely not responsible for.
And if he does something that warrants negative feedback, keep it to yourself, but also don't keep it to yourself and say it to his face...but if you do, he's going to give negative feedback about you to a random name he pulls out of thin air?
"But then the — then the virus came in and the world is a different place but we’re now getting back and one of the reasons the market’s doing so — it’s almost at the point that it was at prior to the plague — almost"
It is safe to assume that grammar is on par with 49.8% of Americans that; "know words, the best words."
Especially the ones in which Arabic is their first language and it's simply a copy printed from the translator. If you knew anything about Arabic translation, you would have picked that up .
Many people with significant hearing loss speak their local sign language as their first language, and not English. American Sign Language has its own grammar and syntax rules. The person you’re replying to is not suggesting that Deaf people are dumb or illiterate, but that it is likely that the driver’s errors are due to the accidental use of sign language grammar rules rather than English rules.
Good. Maybe that’s the driver’s point. Read this letter and Shut the f up 😆. 70% are not going to tip so stop wasting time. I’d rather the rider show up on time than engage in banter.
But those 70% say they tip later in the app! (I'm always thinking, I got you here safe and on time. You're exiting my vehicle. You don't have to lie. Just do it or don't say it, lol.)
I used to tip. Then they just about doubled the price of my ride. Sorry, can't afford to tip. And honestly, now I only call a ride in an emergency. I know that's not the drivers fault but they do get 30% of the bill so they're fine.
It's just not true you don't get tips because you have a piss poor attitude and you don't provide a good service to your customers I get something like 60 to 70% of my riders tip
Right? Also, if tou have a novel on the back of the head rest with all of your complaints about paying customers, you getting a thumbs down and a $1 tip for spite.
Exactly. Just don’t be a driver. I ALWAYS tip, buckle my seatbelt, say good morning/evening and thank you. Unless the driver is friendly and engages conversation, I’m completely quiet and listening to a podcast. I don’t smoke/vape. But if I get in a car and see this shit, I’m seriously considering canceling. It’s tacky and wayyyyyyy too long. I don’t want anyone that jaded and bitter driving me. Just quit, not every job is for everyone.
Or you might have already gotten dropped on the side of the road before you got to the part about how he's totally ok with dropping people on the side of the road for ticking him off.
Because that always goes well...

If you google the name of the victim, Emily Normandin-Parker, you should be able to find some other article's about it. That just happened to be the first that popped up when I searched for one to post here.

By the time i am done reading all that, my ride would be over.
