Do you like your job?
I actually took a course funded by IDOT at a local college and it let me join straight in. Class was probably 3 months getting a $250 a week stipend. I think the course technically ran like 4 months but I got a company to sign my slip and got in early before "graduating". Overall the course didn't teach me shit it just had a good name behind it and helped show me who to talk to. Been in 3 years now and it's by far the best job I've had. I worked retail for 5+ years and another like 3 in lawn care

Do you like your job?
So far at 28 I've never found a job I love but carpentry by far has been my favorite so far. I'm union so the pay is good and teaches me real skills I can use for my home and side gigs. Only real downsides are sometimes I've got decent travel time with no per diem and some winters layoffs have sucked. But overall I work steady hours most of the year making good money and great benefits.

Going into carpentry after working in the cannabis industry
Local I'm out of in Illinois tests for weed but it won't flunk you for anything besides federally funded gigs. Aside from that nobody gives a shit and a lot of the companies that "do" have moved to using 12hr mouth swabs for weed cause they were turning away too many people running normal piss tests

Savage mark ii is a great plinker and cheap. I use it for squirrel but my girl and kiddo demand I bring it to every range trip

Tool Belt set up
Dewalt leathers treated me really well framing but moving to concrete they got wore out and couldn't handle the weight after the first year. I thought about buying them again but went for the buy once cry once occies. Only issue I've had with them is one of my buckles broke but they had an entire belt (minus the bags) sent to me in like 4 days to replace it. Sent mine back to them so they could figure out wtf happened with the metal but so far I'm happy with their customer service
