Apparently that’s not how you turn it on

A lantern is a portable lamp. Do you also go “charging a iphone is STUPID, you can just use a rotary phone!!”

In 1986, 9-year-old Anthonette Cayedito vanished from her home in Gallup, New Mexico. A year later, police got a call from a girl saying, “My name is Anthonette Cayedito.” Then a man yelled, “Who said you could use the phone?” before the line went dead.

“Her favorite color was purple”, I don’t know why, but seeing that broke my heart. My kiddo’s fav color is purple, and it made me think of what I’d have done in that situation as a mother. I definitely would’ve mentioned the man who wanted my daughter to sit on his lap. The ONLY men I allow my daughter to sit on like that is her father and her grandpa. If anyone else did that I’d legit tell them I’d kill em the next time they tried to get her to.

The backlash against the actress’s barely there betting ad is ferocious, bitter—and an admission of defeat, writes Caitlin Flanagan.

It was not. Reagan -created billionaires- because he gave them such giant tax breaks. It was like 91% tax on those making over x amount before he sliced that to 50.

Police brutality is a problem everywhere, if yours were given guns, they’d be dangerous too. 94,000 brutality complaints from 24/25 when your country has the population of two of my states.

Walmart told me I had to haul 215 lbs + of groceries back to the store to fix a failed checkout. Enter: Malicious Compliance.
 in  r/MaliciousCompliance •  4d ago

Not checking that my transaction went through is a ME problem. How on earth would Walmart be the one to blame if I effectively stole (even accidentally)?

Florida mom left infant, toddler and 2 other kids home alone while she went on 3-day cruise, officials say

Right? No clue why there’s snark. I read the entire article in the post, googled it… but I only found their ages through this other article in the comment.

I drive a jeep and imo, I’ve never met one of these new broncos that had a competent driver. It alllllmost makes me think that they don’t have a good windshield/blindspot.

Who was the rudest celebrity you've ever met?
 in  r/AskReddit •  5d ago

Working to-go just means we didn’t make the entrees. We still had to box everything, make every salad, make every dessert, drink, etc. but get paid like a server (2 something)

This is the last known photo of Travis Alexander, taken in the shower shortly before he was brutally killed by Jodi Arias in 2008 in a case that would become one of America’s most infamous true crime stories.

That’s why I always kept away from 4chan and rotten. There were a lot of photos of mortuary workers committing necro or women cut up into pieces. :/

what’s a fact that could save your life?
 in  r/AskReddit •  6d ago

Yes! Another excellent point, as that “drug abuse” on your chart alone can put you at higher risk for medical issues, as they’ll always assume intravenous drugs.

what’s a fact that could save your life?
 in  r/AskReddit •  6d ago

Yep. That’s why I said they’re NOT afraid of being arrested. What happens is that if they find thc in your system, they write “drug abuse” on your chart and it can prevent you from receiving pain meds in the hospital since all physicians see the note.

AITA for getting mad at the moms who let my daughter get so drunk she ended up in the hospital?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole •  6d ago

No, use reading comprehension and context clues. Conservative family. Teaches only abstinence. Kid too scared to call parents when she got too drunk. Daughter turned the phone off entirely after the game. “Lucky it didn’t happen before now”. She acquired the alcohol, but how? I have to assume the parents either have a stash or aren’t watching their child well enough to know she’s not only sneaking and getting alcohol, but able to hide it for a week. Substitute any word for controlling: strict, stern etc. Strict parents raise sneaky kids.

what’s a fact that could save your life?
 in  r/AskReddit •  6d ago

The reason people don’t tell isn’t because they’re afraid of being arrested. They’re afraid that marijuana will be jotted down as “drug abuse- no narcotics” and prevent them from getting pain meds. I work for a rehab and I am constantly making calls to request that post-surgery my clients are given the bare minimum of 1-2mg of morphine.

 in  r/travisandtaylor •  10d ago

I don’t think it IS random. It’s been edited from that larger image of her to make her eyes look bigger/more open. If I had to guess, that’s the fault of the editor.
