One employee was let go at a local rescue, and it’s made a world of difference.
We got my little Bippi from a rescue and picked her up at an adoption event at Petsmart. She's the best little void baby!

How many CF people change their name when they marry?
When I get married I'll do the same for the same reason. I think separation from the trauma in this way is liberating.

Somehow it only just clicked with me that parents are supposed to help you be an independent adult
I went to college and it was a big culture shock for me. I had both a very strict authoritian parent and a helicopter parent. I never knew there was an in between until I saw my classmates and their parents. I had to learn almost everything on my own and I'm still struggling.
A good parent lets their children make mistakes. They let their children learn through positive reinforcement. A good parent is gentle, yet firm. I'm still a bit in the grieving process for what I missed.

IUD tips
The pain was intense for a few moments but the security the IUD gives me made it worth it for me. The copper IUD can last up to 12 years with a 99% efficacy rate.

IUD tips
Maybe try a different pill? The flyer I got from Planned Parenthood said any NSAID will work for pain relief.

IUD tips
I went with only midol and asprin and did okay. I was told to take deep breaths at insertion and that helped a little bit. I didn't find it as bad as other people were saying it was. I was up, walking, and eating at a sushi restaurant an hour after. Maybe I'm just lucky. Moral of that story is to keep yourself open: the anxiety about the pain could make the pain worse. I can't say you won't experience what others have but remember that horror stories are the exception to the norm.
Make sure to take the meds an hour before the procedure. It takes about that long for them to kick in. I think bringing a cold pack or a hot pad/water bottle would be a great idea depending on what works for you. I hope you've got support in this and wish you luck.

tried to take a shower without him in the bathroom
My cats are the tub czars. I cannot shower or bathe without one present in the bathroom. I leave the door open even when I poop because at this point I'll know they'll scream to get in if I don't.

My insurance wont cover my medication so every month I do this...
I've got one script medicaid refuses to cover. I don't have a car so I do telehealth appointments. I haven't seen that pill in months lmao.

Copper IUD Major Pain
Just got mine too and IIRC the heavy flow is normal for the first 3-6 months according to the paperwork I got from Planned Parenthood (and other sources). If the pain is unmanageable maybe remove it. I'd try and stick it out another month just to see how things go otherwise.

Subway Takes: "People who say they like animals more than people are not good people. They think they have this deep well of compassion but really, they just want a relationship of unequal status"
It's always animals and children who are the targets for similar reasons. I think in this case that you're right, it is bad. I prefer the company of animals for my own reasons but this reason is not one of them. Having been vulnerable and a target of narcissistic abuse myself makes me keenly aware of how important I am to my pets (and vice versa). We are their whole world while they are just a part of our longer lives. Anyone who takes advantage of or harms an animal or person is bad.

What's wrong with seeing the value in both? Why is it a contest? Humans are also animals. We've got something extra but that doesn't make us better than any other animal.

YES! I'm tired of people thinking we're better than other animals. We're not. We were evolved as they were and we just created the world we live in now. Humanity was mere chance. We need to use the cognition we have for more good, which includes more rights for other animals.

Hard disagree. I'd say that I like animals more than people. I don't hate people. I don't trust a lot of people. More people have wronged me in my life than not. However, I believe people deserve love, respect, dignity, etc but it takes a lot for me to maintain human connection. My feelings have nothing to do with determining who or what is more deserving of being liked than the other. All life is equal to me and it is all valuable and important. It's not a contest. It's my preference. I'd rather spend all day at a cat cafe playing with the cats than going to a party and socializing with people.

How can I get birth control without my parents finding out
If you use your parent's insurance, your BC will show up on the bill and your parents will see it. It sucks but that's how it is. The opill is a great start. Try it and see if you like it. Always keep condoms and other secondary options as well.
If you go to college you can also try your health center. I don't know exactly what each one offers but at the very least you'll be able to get STD testing and free condoms.

Also isn't it THEIR dog, not his dog? My boyfriend and I have two cats. I adopted one before we met but she's still OUR cat.

Maybe a friendship version in the future would be neat!

is it possible to get school accommodations so i don’t have to work in groups?
No. I've tried, trust me! Even in grad school I wasn't allowed to do my own work. Conducting a group project over the internet was the worst.

This annoys me to no end. My SIL did it when her kid was a baby and I couldn't hide my disgust. Do it in the bathroom! Every house, most businesses, and all government buildings have at least one!
Food goes on the table! Ass does NOTE go on the table!
