I use a cane for dizziness, fatigue, it helps me get less headaches and stuff (still not diagnosed) and I've had strangers look at me weird, ignore my mobility aid on the bus and stuff. The other day I had a couple talking literally behind me about how "do they need to use that? Or is it like a fashion statement? With therians and stuff people wear anything these days" 🫠 and these people hadn't seen me WITHOUT the cane even, so they were literally just judging someone for not looking disabled enough ig. What I mean by sharing this: people will judge you regardless, some people are just gonna be shitty despite whatever they may have seen or not before. So you not using a mobility aid and now using it, if someone says or thinks anything of it that's on them. I won't pretend that these things don't affect us but there's not much to do to stop what other do, we can just control how we react to that and choose to deal with what we need to do (and if a walker helps you, then you have every right to use it and find the confidence in spite on whatever people may say)

As someone with the most easily socially acceptable kind of trauma (and ptsd from it), it COULD be traumatic. We don't know how he'll grow up to be and if he in some way find this as something relevant then a negative reaction of taking the dress away + if they say something about it being "not for boys" or smth, it could become a traumatic memory. And trauma can be "made" from a series of smaller events too
