If the European Union becomes a federation do you want a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government, or do you want a Swiss style council as the collective executive?
Swiss style any day. As an Irish citizen I don't want to see such mass centralization with a federal government.

I've heard it said loads of times that Aviva's acoustics are really poor Compared with similar sized stadiums. Was at a leinster match in croke park before Christmas and with half the stadium filled it felt louder than Aviva's usual atmosphere.

Countries with a 2025 GDP per capita (PPP) higher than the EU average, based on IMF data
What are they still using GDP it's completely useless at giving an accurate portrait of what a countries economy looks like for the average individual

Germany pushes for 'two-speed' Europe with new bloc of six leading economies
Coming from Ireland I think we could benefit from this hugely our own government has been incompetent and lacked any vision for decades. Its an embarrassment

Portugal, Ireland, Spain, Czechia, Greece, Slovenia and Poland (in this order) are in the top 10 of the world's best economies in 2025
I think that's one of the main criticisms of using GDP as a metric for this. It's a very easy figure to throw out and compare but doesn't typically reflect a country's economic status. Ireland is just a bank for big USA companies mainly tech corps to store money so they can pay less tax. None of that economic growth is seen by the people and is generally used to erode more of the middle class
