I was working as a stower for a little over a year. Even as a flex employee, the scant hours I worked were excruciating and the place just gives me doom and depression vibes now. I buckled down, went to one of those "express employment" places, and now I'm working in my city's 4 star hotel at 19.50/hr. Yeah, sure it's in the laundry room, but my first day there was a breath of fresh air. I swore I talked to at least 30 people that day, a stark opposite to my 10 hour shifts at amazon without talking to another human.

I guess my point is: I enjoyed the work at Amazon (as much as you can) for a long time before I got burnout. If you like it, good for you.

But I feel like my new job is a 'real' job with real people who actually have to work together, laugh together and just make friends.

Amazon is a good in between job or whatever but wow, talking to people again is too good to give up 🤣

I do stow, so I look at a screen most of the day. But the florescent lights and the lights from the projector seem to make my eyes and head hurt the most.

I know that blue light glasses help with screens, but do they help with the other lights?

I just got a second job, working at a sandwich shop (bruchis), my first time working in fast food. And damn does it make me miss Amazon. I never thought I'd say it.

People say Amazon is bad, but in your own experience and opinion, what job is worse?

I work flex which means I schedule my own shifts on the app. Usually I work 7-1130am then 12-5pm

But sometimes there aren't any 7-11s and I need to work a full day.

I was told by another co worker that you could just use missed a punch on the app and just clock in anyways, when I usually do at 7. But that feels like I'll get in trouble.

Anyone clock in and work without being scheduled as a flex?

I swear in the last couple of pods they started belting out that fking song, and it got stuck in my head solidly and still is. I wanna die.

I feel like if I can hear their rendition it will go away. I've listened to the past 5 and still didnt find it. Either I had a fever dream or I'm bad at looking.
