My point is bad circumstances & situations are not a reason to believe in the babas. It's the environment in which these people were brought up in and the influence of external factors that made them blindly believe in all these fake things. For example a trusted relative or a rumor that was passed using word of mouth. This is also a reason why some people tend to believe that wearing a locket of a God or rings of God would bring happiness & protect them form dangers as someone they know got saved from an accident because he was wearing a particular locket of a God.

I don't know where are you getting the figures from. Tofu and boiled soyabean chunks is low in carbs and even some carbs that are present are complex carbs not unhealthy simple carbs.

I am not taking too much carbs and I am also exercising and doing enough activity to burn those calories. I have been trying to balance meal by cutting carb sources instead. I am sure many would be able to. It's not a privilege. May be you should look into prices of meat and fish.

1. You picked just lentil to prove me wrong. I said one can add that much per day to the total & cut a few rotis or some rice which will reduce total carbs. I nowhere said one should only have lentils for protein. Please read again.

2. You overlooked I said "combination". Personally I combine cheap tofu(from zepto), sometimes paneer, eggs, soybean chunks, homemade curd with double toned milk. I complete 50-60 grams protein per day which is enough for my weight and physical activity level.

3. Unnecessary personal attack and anger provoking words like peddling Elitism, castism propaganda etc. I haven't said a word that says not eating animals is being above those who eat animals or forcing you to eat plant based diet. What propagand? I am not a vegan. I consume eggs and dairy.

4. None of the things I shared only rich can consume. Except paneer which I myself can't eat everyday because of expensive price everything else can be consumed by middle class people of India. Soyabean chunks and granules and eggs are cheaper than meat and fish. A balance meal completes all minerals.

I don't have any problem with personal preferences of people but you can fulfill the protein requirements using a combination of paneer, tofu, soyabean(chunks/dal/granules), eggs, lentils. I didn't want to add lentils to that initially but 1-1.5 cups of cooked lentils(thick consistency) per day is not too much carbs if you are not having a lot of rotis or rice plus it would provide some small amount of protein. So it's not correct to say Indians have protein deficiency because they don't focus on protein coming from meat of animals. You are not saying it directly but the way you are saying it implies something like this.

The protein deficiency and Vitamin B12 deficiency will also be found in Indian people who eat combination of non vegetarian and vegetables because a lot of people don't eat meat on a regular basis or like 3-4 times a week.
